Sandakozhi was originally narrated for Vijay and Jyothika, but both were replaced by Vishal and Meera Jasmine.[4] Vishal worked hard for the role by taking courses in acting and dancing.[5] A fight scene involving Vishal and Lal was picturised in Dindigul for seven days. The songs have been shot at locations in Australia, New Zealand and Chennai. An introduction song for Rajkiran was shot at Theni.[6]

The soundtrack, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, teaming up for the first time with director N. Linguswamy and Vishal, was released on 25 November 2005. It features 5 tracks, the lyrics of which were written by Pa. Vijay, Na. Muthukumar, Yugabharathi and Thamarai. Both the film score as well as the songs were appreciated and praised as outstanding with the song "Dhavanipotta Deepavali" considered as the pick of the album.[7][8]

Vishal's Sandakozhi 2 is scheduled to hit the screens on October 18, this year, and the team have already released two singles and a teaser from the film. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, this action entertainer is directed by Lingusamy, who helmed the first part.

The latest update from the team is that the songs of the film will be released on September 24. Details regarding the audio launch venue is yet to be known. Sandakozhi 2 marks the 25th film of Vishal in Kollywood, and the fans have good expectations over the film.

Meanwhile, the first single song from Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar, composed by A.R.Rahman, will also be releasing on the same day, on September 24, at 6 PM. Looks like that day will be an interesting feast for all the music lovers as the songs from two renowned music directors come out on the same day. Get ready!

Meesai Vacha Vetaikkaaran is a typical temple festival celebratory song where the song has all the indispensable elements one can expect in the songs of this genre. Though the tune confines to its zone, Yuvan's thundering percussion sounds in the charanam and highly effective chorus works like charm. The genre is the cakewalk for Mahalingam and he aces the singing part effortlessly.

Alaala's tried and tested rhythm pattern and the mood is accentuated further by the sweeping strings section and the only part that works to the song's favour is the neatly done interludes especially which gives the haunting impression to the song. Kailash Kher still sounds exotic despite singing the considerable number of regional songs. e24fc04721
