It looks like Autofill is not working when using the Samsung Internet browser which is the preinstalled and default internet browser on newer Galaxy smartphones (S7, S8,...). Because it has a lot of optimizations for Samsungs Galaxy phones it's the preferred browser on Samsung devices and much faster and less battery consuming than Chrome.

As to why Samsung decided to release its browser for Windows, no official explanation has been offered yet. However, if I had to guess I'd say it's related to the connected experience Samsung offers between Galaxy devices. It's possible to browse the internet on a Galaxy phone or tablet and seamlessly switch the experience to a connected laptop, but Samsung relies on a third-party browser to display the content on that laptop. By releasing its own browser for Windows, Samsung removes that reliance from the equation.

Another way it beats Google Chrome is by giving offline access to web pages. With Chrome, the page will reload and crash once you lose your internet connection. However, with the Samsung browser, once your page has loaded and been saved, you can view it anytime, with or without the internet.

The steps differ slightly depending on the type of phone and web browser app you're using. Below, we'll go over how to clear this data for Google's Chrome browser (often the default for many Android phones, like the Google Pixel line), Samsung's internet browser (often the default on the Galaxy phone series) and Mozilla's Firefox browser. Samsung Internet browser's package name is com.sec.android.app.sbrowser. You should check the cache files under the folder /data/data/com.sec.android.app.sbrowser. Note that you need root access to read that folder. ff782bc1db
