I'm sorry, but if it needed two remotes originally, then the roku remote probably can't control the projector's volume and power. You could look up known projector brands like epson, optoma, benq, lg, and so on.

Yes, you should get a universal that allow for code search, and blink back of code result. Then you up all brands that use that code in the library code list, then try the same brands in the roku remote.

I am thinking that the included Roku remote may not be able to control the volume of the projector directly. I am no remote enthusiast though, but I did not find any instructions on programming Roku remotes to a projector. (I am not sure if Roku remotes have IR codes for projectors).

I think you have to have a peripheral audio setup like an Audio Video Receiver or the like for the Roku remote to control the volume. (And then, assumingly , you plug the Streaming Stick into the Receiver with HDMI to the projector).

We are having trouble getting the Roku remote that came with our RCA RPJ133-B Home Theater Projector to pair with the device. The roku screen is displayed but the remote will not work with it at all. The directions say the remote will pair with the device automatically when the batteries are placed in it, but not so. Any advice?

Honestly if I could just stop it from controlling the volume, that would be the best scenario. But since the controlling of TV power is also connected to the controlling of TV volume, let's just stop both.

Go into settings to remote in use, program tv, when it asks if the music is playing click yes, if the music stops in the next step click no, lie to it, keep clicking no until it really doesn't mute the music then click yes. and exit the settings. You remote shouldn't be controlling your tv anymore.

How to un-pair a remote? So it no longer controls the power on/off and volume of the TV. See the first post, because I've already tried all those things. And I tried lying to the Roku, but that didn't work either.

I have 4670 ultra with a enhanced voice remote, it was controlling my tv, I went into settings> remote & devices> remote in use> program tv> the music started to play, I click yes its playing, the music went off but I said no couple of times, then I hit yes and exited back to home screen. Remote no longer controlled the tv, did it again and said yes on the first try when the music stopped and remote controlled by tv again. I did the couple time back and forth it worked each time.

Just something to add for those of you that can't get this solution to work. I tried this and it finally worked for me. I noticed that each time I said no to the music turning off the remote tried a different code (watch what it says on your TV screen right after you press "no" on the remote). It said something like "trying code 1","trying code 2" and so on. I kept trying the whole process over and over until it finally chose a code that didn't controI my tv. Now I can press the power button and nothing happens. Apparently the remote is trying different codes it has on file for your TV and some of them work while some of them don't. You just have to find the one that doesn't work. I finally got to where it said trying code 5 and that was the one that didn't work for me. Now my remote cannot control my TV or volume. Thank you for the tip it worked great.

The Roku Ultra and others can be controlled by a phone that is on the same network. Meanwhile, the ST hub is also on the same network. Perhaps an advantage is that the Roku Ultra uses an RF remote that needs no line of sight as an IR or would.

How beholden are you to smartthings exclusivity? Google Home can control your roku tv, and shut it off automatically via buitin Home/Away Routines very simply with no additional apps or webhook hoopla.

Many phone/pad cameras will capture IR transmissions. First, test your phone/pad camera by capturing an image of a remote that you know will emit IR. If your camera responds to IR, then check the TCL remote. . If the TCL remote does not emit IR, you cannot control PLAYBAR.

If you own a Television that has Roku OS built into it, we recommend using your voice to change between inputs for watching live tv and transitioning to Roku OS app content. Using the Harmony Express remote to navigate between the inputs will cause the devices to be out of sync in when you try to control them.

I'm having trouble disabling the remote control buttons like "fast forward", "pause", etc. in my Roku application. It is a very simple application that just has the one main scene, which only creates a video node that plays a live stream of our television channel. It was accepted by Roku accept that they require you to disable the trick play buttons like "fast forward" during a live stream. The documentation says this should be handled with the "onKeyEvent()" function. If the event is handled, it 'shouldn't' bubble up and be handled by the firmware. I can console log to prove that the function is firing but when I turn "handled" to true and return it, it seems to have no effect. all the buttons continue to fire and do their thing.

Interesting. I just got my mum a Roku so I'll try this out soon. Although she seems to often prefer having the Zorin Lite laptop plugged into the TV and using IPTVnator with playlists like IPTV-org, even though there's no remote ability (yet. Installing PC remote control app on her phone is another thing I need to look into.)

It has worked flawlessly for me so far. I tend to work with a tv going in the background for background noise so it is useful to me to be able to control it without moving my controller all over the room.

I've given the Roku dev remote control app a quick try. It's nice to have the option of running from the PC, although so far I haven't seen a compelling use case for it over using the phone app. At least for my mum's current set up. I might need to experiment more to see the benefits (e.g. explore the scripting possibilities?)

But I can't find a Linux binary on its homepage nor in Synaptic (and I've no experiencing of compiling from source or "gitting" software).

There's a Reddit thread where the developer answers questions about the app, but the current Reddit strike means it's Private Viewing only.

Controku: Control Roku devices from your Linux desktop (or phone!) : r/linux

These days, most TVs are hooked up to all sorts of external devices like gaming consoles, streaming services, Blu-ray players, and even set-top boxes. This can make it confusing when you want to turn on the TV or turn off a console - which remote should you be using? You can streamline the process by using just one remote to control your Smart TV and other devices. For instance, you can rely on your Samsung universal remote or Amazon Fire Stick to get the job done.

Samsung TVs available in stores and on our website come with a universal One Remote. The remote can control third-party devices that are connected to the TV via HDMI only. For instance, if a Blu-ray player or Xbox is connected via HDMI, you can point the universal remote at the Blu-ray player to begin controlling its functions!

Third-party remotes, such as Sony PlayStation controllers or an Amazon Fire Stick, can be used to control a Samsung TV as well. You can find the latest TV models on the Samsung Shop that support third-party controllers and remotes.

Sometimes it is crazy to find a remote control and it would be great if there are other solutions from the TCL remote control manual to turn on the TV instead of the remote control. Actually, there are three ways you can turn on your TCL Roku TV without a remote under TCL remote control manual:

So, you are now able to control your TCL Roku TV using this app. Head over to your TV settings, choose Network, and then the wireless option. Your TCL smart TV will search for the nearby networks, so choose any of them and insert the password. Then scroll down and click the connect option to connect to this WIFI network.

For those with TCL Roku TVs that support AirPlay, it is even much easier. Simply go to the control center of your iPhone and select the screen mirroring icon. If your TCL Roku TV supports AirPlay, it should be listed among the devices you can connect to. Select your TCL Roku TV name to mirror the iPhone to your Roku Tv.

If your TV or receiver supports HDMI-CEC, Apple TV uses the HDMI connection to allow it to be controlled by your TV or receiver remote. For more information, see the Apple Support article Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote.

Before you can use a network-based remote for home-control systems with Apple TV, you first need to add the remote to the Home app on an iOS or iPadOS device. Make sure the remote is turned on and connected to your network.

Roku has finally done something about the slow and tedious process of using a remote control to steer a cursor, one character at a time, through a grid of letters and numbers to search for TV shows and movies.

The Harmony Smart Keyboard connects to a hub, and between the two, the system supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB, as well as infrared. This allows for control over a vast array of devices. (Eight at any one time.) The database of compatibility covers some 225,000 gadgets.

The top-of-the-line version of the Roku 2, known as the Roku 2 XS, sells for $100 and includes the motion control remote and a copy of Angry Birds already downloaded and ready to play, as well as USB and ethernet ports not available on the cheaper models. ff782bc1db
