And the reason is exactly as the warning says. Class B contains a non-static main method which it inherited from class A. You can't have 2 methods with exactly the same name and type signature in one class, even if one is static and another in non-static. This means that the compiler cannot generate a static main method in class B that forwards to the non-static main method in object B.

My problem is... all of my companions' commentary is the low approval one. Sten growls, Morrigan goes "oh.... it's you" and my dear Zev just gives me a cold "let us do this." And their approval isn't actually low??? They're not supposed to hate me ;-;

An Ohio State University survey of 56 dog owners and 73 cat owners who surrendered their companion animals to the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, Ohio found that bad behavior was the top reason for giving up a dog. Behavior issues were specified by 30% of dog owners surveyed, and moving was the top reason for giving up cats, as specified by 29% of respondents.

This study of 56 dog owners and 73 cat owners who gave up their companion animals to the Capital Area Humane Society found that 30% of the dog owners did so because of bad behavior, more specifically noted as hyperactivity, housebreaking problems, and biting and chewing. More than half (53%) of the dogs were surrendered at less than one year old.

Nearly all veterinarians agree that owners' lifestyles are the major cause of behavioral issues in companion animals, but most understand that owners are too busy to deal with behavioral issues. READ MORE

In personal interviews, people surrendering their dogs and cats to 12 animal shelters in 4 regions of the country discussed their reasons for relinquishing their companion animals and answered questions about their own characteristics and those of their pet. The interviews identified 71 reasons for relinquishment. Personal issues lead the class of reasons for relinquishment of cats and ranked 3rd among those given for relinquishment of dogs. The top 3 health and personal issues cited for giving up cats were allergies of a family member to cats, owner's personal problems, and anew baby. For dogs, the top 3 reasons cited were lack of time for the dog, owner's personal problems, and allergies. Analysis of these health and personal issues suggests that education and counseling before and after acquisition of a pet, as well as the availability of temporary accommodations for pets during times of personal crisis, may reduce relinquishments.

Companions no longer have a primary role. You will find that some companions are often said to be "best" in some role, but overall, given the same influence level, they all work about the same (with the possible exception of Cartel Market companions).

IOW, in theory, Corso is just as good a Healer as Gus or Risha, if they're all the same Influence level. And at the same Influence level, they all are just as good in the damage or tank role, as well. And the same applies to the other companions you can pick up as you go through KotFE/ET and beyond. At the same influence level, any one companion is just as good at heals or damage or tank as any other companion.

In reality, the theory-crafters have determined that they all perfrom differently in the different roles. Some are better than others, and they've ranked all the companions from best to worst in all the roles.

I don't recall offhand which companion is "best" at what role, other than Shae Vizla apparently is the "best" dps comp, basically due to her copy of the BH's "Death From Above" ability**. That, and all the CM comps apparently are worthless, in any role (and doubly worthless, because you can't use them for Crew Skills). I'm pretty sure I read the full breakdown in a post somewhere here in these forums, but it was months ago. Mostly, I remember that there didn't seem to be that big a difference in them, except maybe for the CM ones.

What I can say from my own experience is that I still use the ones I like best in terms of "personality" and how that "fits" with whichever of my companions, without worrying that they aren't the best in whatever role I assign for them. Sometimes I also consider whether they're "melee" or "ranged" and how that complements my character's class. And I don't really have any problems getting stuff done using a comp who isn't the "best" in whatever role I assign.

*The original Story companions are still categorized as Melee Damage, Ranged Damage, etc., but that really only applies to the Legacy bonuses you get for completing all their conversations & missions. They still are very much "melee" or "ranged" but otherwise, they all can be tank, damage or heals.

Check this post, in the spoiler tag marked "Most Effective Companions By Stance", if you want to know which one is best in what role. (You may or may not have access to the "best" ones, depending on your ability / willlingness to spend Cartel Coins and / or slog through whatever game content to get a particular companion).

In case you're wondering, you can set any companion's role to whatever you want by right clicking on the companion's picture. All companions default to healing unless you change your preferences, but it's easy to put them on dps or tank as needed.

- running with a healer companion could be considered the "default" set up. It produces (imho) the smoothest result. You can smoothly go from mob to mob without stopping. The companion will add some DPS when not healing.

- running with a DPS companion results, of course, in quicker enemy deaths, but then you have to often stop between mobs to heal you and your companion. It may overall be quicker than using a healer sometimes, but often not by much.

- running with a tank. I've only tried using a tank companion a few times. I find that, for most solo PvE and even VM flashpoints, a melee healer is more effective than a tank**. The melee healer will tend to occupy the enemies while also healing.

True, but you *can* get her without using the Cartel Market (or the GTN). You can acquire her, if you have enough Legacy Level and credits, from the Legacy panel, which isn't true for the beast and droid CM companions.

Covered reasons are certain situations and events that, when they occur, mean you may be eligible to make a claim. At Allianz Global Assistance, we design our travel insurance products to include a broad range of covered reasons, because we want to protect our customers from the most common mishaps that happen while traveling.

Depending on the plan you choose, there may be up to 28 covered reasons for interrupting or canceling your trip. These covered reasons vary according to the plan you purchase, but here are some examples:

Many travelers are asking: Can travel insurance cover COVID-19? Claims due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, epidemics, government prohibitions, warnings, or travel advisories or fear of travel are generally not covered (coverage can vary by state.) However, certain covered reasons related to COVID-19 have been added to some of our most popular insurance plans.

Benefits vary by plan and by state of residence, and are not available in all jurisdictions. For more information, please see the Epidemic Coverage Endorsement page in your plan details and read our COVID-19 FAQ or our COVID-19 Coverage Alert. To fully understand all the covered reasons in your specific plan, including how losses due to COVID-19 may or may not be covered, we advise carefully reading your plan documents.

In addition, the WFH model can result in feelings of isolation and loneliness, which impact mental health and well-being. And if these employees are also caregivers for older parents, their day-to-day strain is even more pronounced. For this reason, companion care can significantly benefit both employees and employers, addressing some of the challenges of this paradigm while promoting a healthier lifestyle.

For medications and dietary needs or supplements, be sure to store an extra supply in a waterproof container with the food and drink. Talk to your vet about specific requirements, such as tick and flea prevention, antibiotic ointment, and saline solutions you may need in case your companion animal gets hurt.

Make sure feeding schedules, behavioral quirks, and any medical issues are noted in the documents. Nobody knows your companion animals better than you, so make sure any information about their behavior is noted. For example, if your cat becomes aggressive when scared or reclusive around new people, note that for shelter or foster caretakers to ensure their behavior is understood.

Additionally, descriptions of your companion animals (e.g. male black dog with a white circular spot on his ear or a white female cat with three black fur spots on her back left foot) could help prove your lost companion animal is yours and make the reconciliation process quicker

Why was the companion object concept created instead of using the static keyword for class methods and fields? I find it cumbersome, and it clashes with my style of writing code which is to put public methods at the top of a class and private methods at the bottom. I also understand that accessing methods in the companion object from instance methods is more expensive within a class, as compared with Java.

If you follow the style of writing the statics at the top of the class in Java, then I suggest to try to consider writing them at the top level (e.g. before class declaration) in Kotlin. For many use-cases it works better than introducing a companion object.

This is not a deal breaker for me, but it certainly is a drawback that quite simply has no reason to exist - both traditional usage and support in targets (including JS and native) is quite easy for Kotlin compiler implementors. The Kotlin language owners should be striving to make it easier for folks like me to migrate from Java without bludgeoning existing practice, at least without a good reason. e24fc04721
