Following the events of Bubble Bobble, Bubby and Bobby set out to defeat the "Dark Shadow" and rescue the Rainbow Islands. The Dark Shadow is the entity responsible for the events in Bubble Bobble.[2] The game is set on a chain of ten islands, each one with a different theme. Each island provides four rounds of game-play, and once these are complete the player moves to the next island in the chain. In each round the player must get to the top before the sea level rises and kills them. The islands get progressively more difficult, with enemies moving much faster on the later ones. These are depicted on a map screen before the start of each island.

Players can release rainbows that act as weapons, makeshift platforms, and item collectors. Slinging rainbows damages any enemies and acquires any items that the rainbows come in contact with. When jumped upon, they fall down, beating any enemies below them, and releasing a damage field above them.[2] Collecting power-ups increases the player's speed, the speed of the rainbows and how many are spawned. If players take too long in a level, water will start to rise up from the bottom of the stage, and will kill the player character if it rises above his head.[2]

Like Bubble Bobble before it, the game has multiple endings. To get the "True and Happy" ending the player must find and complete the three secret islands (although most consumer versions of the game completely lack the secret islands because of budget constraints[3]). These islands are not visible until all 7 big diamonds are collected. To get a big diamond, the player must collect seven different-colored small diamonds on the island and finish the round. The small diamonds are found by destroying enemies by dropping a rainbow on them from above or destroying them with various special items. After collecting the small diamonds, a word "NICE" appears. If the small diamonds are collected in the correct order, the player will get to a secret room at the end of each island, which contains a permanent power up. The color of the small diamonds depends on where the fallen enemies land, so the player can somewhat determine which diamond colors will drop.

A series of ports for various models of home computer were developed by Ocean Software primarily for the European market. A version for the Nintendo Entertainment System was developed by Disco, an in-house subsidiary of Taito, and released in 1988, one year after the release of the arcade game. This version contained less levels, but adds additional cutscenes and a new island based on KiKi KaiKai. A conversion of this version was later produced for the SEGA Master System by ITL. Ocean Software would additionally produce a different port for the NES that was a more direct conversion of the arcade title.

The player controls Bubby or Bobby, who must make it to the top of the stage. Bubby and Bobby have the ability to shoot rainbows, which can defeat enemies, collect items, and act as platforms. Bubby and Bobby can collect power ups that allow them to shoot rainbows faster, increase their speed, or to increase the number of rainbows they shoot. If the player takes too long to clear the stage, the sea level begins to rise. If Bubby or Bobby touch the water, they will lose a life. After collecting the seven big diamonds, Bubby and Bobby may continue on to the secret islands, all of which are themed after other Taito games. To achieve the best ending possible, Bubby and Bobby must collect seven more diamonds on each island, which will make the boss drop one of three mirrors. After clearing the remaining islands, Bubby and Bobby will face off against the Boss of Shadow, who is a giant armored Bubble Dragon. After being hit enough times, the Boss of Shadow reveals his true form: a giant Skel-Monsta. After destroying the Baron, Bubby and Bobby use the gems and the mirrors to transform the villagers of the Rainbow Islands back to their human forms.

Bubby and Bobby set off to rescue the inhabitants of the Rainbow Islands, who have been turned into Bubble Dragons by the evil Boss of Shadow. They must collect the big gems and mirrors on the ten Rainbow Islands and defeat the Boss of Shadow to return the islanders to normal.

Despite the uncertainty of the health effects, geophagy is one of the common ways of people exposure to the red soil. This soil is widely used as a local spice and plays an important role in the food culture of the region. This study aimed to quantify the level of selected heavy metals (Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, V, Zn, Ag, Cd, Hg) in the red soil. The content of the metals was measured by ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry). Moreover, risk assessment via heavy metals was carried out by computing the values of Total Hazard Quotient (THQ) and Hazard Index (HI). The results of this study showed that Fe was the most abundant metal among all analyzed metals and the health risk associated with Fe was individually higher than other measured metals. Altough the value for total heavy metals toxicity assessment was found lower than 1 , due to increasing use of red soil as a spice among Hormuz island natives, establishing special industries in order to reducing the amount of heavy metals content in red soil is recommended. e24fc04721
