Station Logos are images that are not synchronized with the audio. These may be specific to each individual multicast program. The station logo image is not expected to change very often. Station logo images are also stored automatically in non-volatile memory on the receiver for quick display and a better user experience. The station logo service may be broadcast as a separate service to the Artist Experience image service (or Cover Art service).

Since the station logos are not synchronized with the audio, they also do not have an associated synchronization trigger with the audio. The station logo service has a lower priority than the Artist Experience service (or Cover art service).

It is critical that the station call sign be transmitted correctly. Station Logos follow a file-naming convention that includes the station call sign. This way the receiver can quickly read the call sign and determine if the Station Logo is already archived for immediate display. The filename for a Station Logo includes the station call sign, the program number, and the version number.

The call sign is included to aid the receiver in cataloging stored files per station. Thus, when a station is first received, the receiver can immediately read the call sign in SIS and check to see if a station logo image is archived and available for display. This mechanism will also prevent the display of an incorrect Station Logo as a receiver travels out of the coverage area of one station and receives another station on the same frequency.

I've watched a couple videos on YT of someone demonstrating radio icons for the 15 presets. Those are replaced on the firmware like the bootloader but the information about this is either lacking or i'm not finding it.

In FORScan I have correctly configured to activate the logos and the calm screen. It works for the moment but after turning the car off and on again the options are no longer there. On the other hand in FORScan the parameter is always good. Any ideas?

As recommended in the tutorial post, I tried changing the as-built APIM config settings before doing the firmware update. I was successful in getting the Calm Screen setting to appear (and it persisted after a master reset of the APIM), so I am all set there. I did not however get any option to add radio station logos. This is a USA spec APIM SYNC3 with built-in navigation from a 2018 Ford Focus and the ACM is from the same vehicle and has XM satellite radio as well as HD radio capability (both working normally).

Could it be that radio station logos are not available for USA spec units ?

I can tell you that the 2018 NA (North American) ACM you have will not display the channel logos described above other than the SiriusXM logos. It is too old. You need a later 2019 ACM to get these functions.

Yeah well I wondered if it was a problem specific to Radio X so I thought I would experiment with a different station and funnily enough it was Planet Rock that I tried. The Planet Rock logo was already on so I deleted it then added one from my SD card (PNG file, 200x120, 18.9kb) and just get the same issue, it goes on fine but turn off the car for a few minutes and its gone.

Btw a supplementary note is that for all the radio stations that I have added manually with direct URLs and uploaded a logo of the radiostation, there is no problem. In that case I do see the logo on the display of the CXN.
