I have PA on my phone. Recently got a tablet, signed into my google account on PA but my podcasts and episodes are not showing. How do I pull up my podcasts or is there a workaround for this to use with PA?

I would love this feature. Podcast Addict is a great app (best app for podcasts in my opinion) but the lack of cross device syncing is what keeps it from a full five stars for me. While I understand it's really difficult to do, it would be so, so, helpful.

Yes, I want this feature that much... it would be so helpful to have my podcast addict client on tablet and phone "sync" - I use the phone during the day and the tablet at night (tablet has a much bigger battery and is not connected to a cellular network that might bother me while sleeping).

Has this been completed.

I can't figure out how to do it.

Says 7 years since started

Says testing done 7 years ago.

I start to listen to a podcast at my house on Tab and then when driving want to listen to the rest.

Podcast not selected or status of the listening.

Cheers

As a podcaster, you want your show to be available everywhere podcasts are consumed to give yourself the best possible chance of growing. With an app the size of Podcast Addict, you definitely want to be listed here.

I wasn't aware that Podcast Addict had this functionality until I'd seen this IndieWeb chat message. This got me looking, and I found that when enabling the history view, we could see the date a podcast was played.

Podcasts have been around and popular for close to a decade now. For the uninitiated, podcasts are like radio shows that can be downloaded directly from the web and listened to on any device. Up until now, only paid apps allowed podcasts to be casted via Chromecast, but with the latest update to Xavier Guillemane's Podcast Addict, you can now do the same thing for free!

All you have to do now is go to Settings -> Restore, select the Podcasts.opml file, and check all the podcasts you want to import. Podcast Addict will then update your subscription list with of all recent episodes.

I first discovered podcasts in 2006 with "The Ricky Gervais Show." I remember flying from Dublin to New York and listening to the entire first season without a break. Then, on the way back, I did the same with everyone around me sleeping. I was 19 and my mom was terminally ill.

When I change the notification to be only one part, the problem goes away. Lap Alerts only play fine and the podcast start replaying with no problems. However, if I add Pace or Speed Alerts, this is what happens:

Yeah, I'm a fan. Big fan. And I've learned a few things that can help you improve your podcast-listening experience. They're listed below. If you have tips of your own to share, hit up the comments section!

Time may be on Mick Jagger's side (he says so right in the song), but it's not on yours. Too many podcasts, too little time. Fortunately, many podcast apps let you adjust the playback speed so you can consume shows more quickly. What's more, they do this without adversely affecting the pitch, so voices still sound more or less normal. Try ticking up to 1.2x or 1.3x; you probably won't notice a huge difference, but you will get through shows a little faster.

Are you a multi-platform listener? Or even just a multi-device one? In an ideal world, your podcast app would sync between all your devices, keeping your subscriptions and listening history updated while also allowing you to pick up where you left when moving between, say, phone and tablet.

Alas, I've found few podcast managers that offer this feature. But there's an excellent one that does: Pocket Casts. Priced at $3.99 (3.99, AU$5.99), it syncs your subscriptions and episode progress, and it's available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. (You can also get a web version for $9.)

With thousands and thousands of podcasts available and more hitting the scene all the time, how can you find the really good stuff? With a podcast about podcasts, of course. "The Big Listen" not only spotlights cool news shows, but also interviews hosts and celebrities and brings you insights into shows you might already know. (A recent episode: "We need to talk about S-Town.")

I've had no problem with the podcasts on podcast addict... However I'm grabbing the premium versions so I guess I'm on a totally separate feed than you're grabbing from. Sorry I can't be of any real help.

There has been problems with the filesizes of podcasts in the rss feed for a while, it used to display the duration of the podcast in seconds instead of the filesize which made them seem real small. Never as small as this though.

I'm having the exact same issue. I can't get the Bombcast or the Beastcast to download on any podcast app. It's happening with a couple of other podcasts as well. I fixed it by switching to the premium feed. But now I'm missing the dick pill ads which IMO are on the wrong side of the paywall.

Maybe it's to add a restricted access podcast feed that you receive as a premium subscriber, or because your employer or school is giving you access to a private feed. What apps can you use to subscribe to this RSS feed you've been given?

Exclusive: PodKite is to launch a new SEO service this week, aimed at improving search position within podcast players. Most people discover new shows via player searches, the company claims; the company allows you to monitor your place in keyword searches in Apple Podcasts and others.

The BBC had 230m podcast downloads in Q1 2020, it says, excluding its own UK-only BBC Sounds app, which claimed a further 123m plays of on-demand radio and podcasts. That roughly translates to 117m downloads per month, making the British broadcaster bigger than the New York Times, but smaller than NPR or iHeartRadio. The number of podcast downloads in Q1 2020 was flat based on last quarter. The BBC is still blocking Google Podcasts.

The digital advertising exchange DAX is now exclusively representing podcasts from Reach plc, the UK news publisher. DAX will host and distribute the podcasts, as well as represent them for advertising.

The podcast specific part of the feed is the dates and episode IDs. So if your app downloaded a file yesterday, and got episodes 1-10, and then again tomorrow and gets episodes 1-11, then the app would remember IDs 1-10, and know that #11 is new.

"That's ridiculous! Every podcast out there is talking about COVID-19," said a user on the app's Facebook page in response to the news. If the app is installed it still works, but attempting to download it from the Play Store shows only a "Not found" page and it no longer appears in search results.

Many of NPR's most popular podcasts are included, like Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!+, The NPR Politics Podcast+, Planet Money+, and more. See plus.npr.org for the (always growing) full list of shows.

Once you've signed up, you'll see a page with instructions for setting up your feed(s) in your podcast app of choice. The process is very simple, and you can always access instructions by signing in and navigating to the Account page, then selecting Podcasts in the menu on the top left.

Currently, the NPR+ bundle is only available in a select number of locations. If you do not see the NPR+ bundle option at the top of this page, then it is not currently available in your area. To access all of your favorite podcasts' NPR+ feeds, you should subscribe to each show individually. (Want the NPR+ bundle in your area? Let us know here)

One of the best features is the option to search by podcast length. So it's easy to find the right episode when you want something that will keep you occupied during a 30-minute commute or a two-hour hike.

Similar to Netflix, you can also find recommendations in the You may also like section. At the bottom of each podcast, there are suggestions for other shows you might want to listen to.

If you truly love the app, you can choose to pay for a premium version. This will remove the ad and give you additional features. But with the amount of customization the free version provides, there is no need. You can easily see what makes this app the best for podcasts on the market.

Several weeks ago, Google flagged Podcast Addict for hosting explicit content and blocked almost all of its Admob display ads. According to the developer, Podcast Addict was self-rated as "Teen" in the Play Store because of the wide range of podcasts available listed under "health and sexuality." That wasn't enough for Google, apparently. The app lost 99.9% of its ad impressions and revenue; the remaining tenth of a percent comes from ads rated for mature content.

Obviously, Podcast Addict isn't producing any adult-themed podcasts. It only lets users access what exists out there on the internet, not unlike Google's own Chrome browser or numerous other podcast apps that still have Google ads. We've seen similarly hypocritical moves from Google's content-rating drones on numerous occasions. Just a few days ago, Google flagged Fleksy for mature content because it has a middle finger emoji (so does Gboard). This isn't a new problem, either. Reddit clients had to start hiding NSFW subreddits years ago to avoid bans. Perhaps Podcast Addict will be able to get back into Google's good graces by hiding adult content behind a settings toggle, but Google doesn't exactly offer consistent guidance to developers. It's kind of a shot in the dark.

Google's automated system checks strike again. A few months after the silly removal of ads from Podcast Addict because of the existence of adult podcasts, the app has lost ads again for another nonsensical reason. This time, it's the mere concept of podcasts that's eluding the Play Store's bots, which are citing "Copyrighted material: Unauthorized Filesharing" as the reason for the ads' removal.

Any of the hundreds of podcast players on Android, be it Podcast Addict, Google's own Podcasts, or Pocket Casts, don't host any content. They just index public RSS feeds and aggregate it in an easy way for you and me to browse and enjoy. There's no 'filesharing' and certainly no 'copyrighted material' issue there. ff782bc1db
