Seems there's tons of ways for this receiver installer to break. the cleanup utility might have worked better for previous versions, but it might be missing registry keys for the current version. doesn't seem to clean up installer registry keys correctly anymore. it needs an update.

I found this forum googling for some of the error messages in the log file but none of the solutions I've found seem to apply to me: I don't have the registry keys they mention, disabling the antivirus doesn't change anything... I also reinstalled the software with a packaged I got at -receiver/legacy-receiver-for-windows/online-plug-in-123.html but it didn't make any change.

For any subscribed application, SSP builds a Start menu shortcut that launches an HDX session for that application when the user selects it. These shortcuts persist after the user logs off from the aggregation tier. If the user selects the shortcut without being logged on, they are prompted for credentials before the application launches. There is an exception to this: if the published application is tagged with a prefer keyword that has a value matching an existing local shortcut, no hosted shortcut is created. This is to save the overhead of a hosted launch where a local one might suffice. For further details, see -windows-40/receiver-windows-config-app-delivery.html

Running the command selfservice.exe -init -ipoll -exit starts SSP, performs a refresh (interactive poll) from the current provider, and forces a clean exit. The cache file is then created in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\citrix\selfservice directory.

Hello,

I have a user who has a windows 7/64. Everything was running smoothly with the citrix web access. now all of a sudden they were getting an error stating that when they tried to open a citrix app it did not know how to open it. It seemed to have lost its association. I checked the default programs association and it seemed fine. I then tried uninstalling the client and I couldn't, it would give me a citrix plugin error with a View Log or Close. Reading the log didn't really give me anything.

So I tried logging in with a different user name to eliminate the possibility of user profile issues. Same error occurred,

I then tired just reinstalling the citrix client it completed fine but then I tried opening up the citrix app and got the same thing, no association.

Then I tried deleting all entries in the registry regarding citrix and then rebooted then tried reinstalling citrix. I go the same error window view log or close.

Please see attached file for the log

Any help wold be greatly appriciated

I was able to successfully install the citrix client by running the installer, then when the error message came up, I browsed to following

C:\documents and settings\user\local settings\temp\Ctx-0123456789 ( Folder ID will vary )

Inside of the temp folder you will see four separate installers. First I installed the HDX Audio, then I installed the USB installer, then I followed that with the Citrix Web Installer. All went through with no problems. When I was done I went back to the Citrix site downloaded the standard ICA installer and it worked perfectly. No errors we given there after.

Swish......nuthin but the bottom of the net!!!

I recently installed the Citrix client (amd64) on Ubuntu 16.04. I downloaded the appropriate file from citrix.com. The file I got was: icaclientWeb_13.4.0.10109380_amd64.deb . I've installed this before on other installations, Ubuntu and Fedora, without problems. Now however I have noticed that Firefox doesn't show the Citrix receiver plug-in that I was expecting there.

Hmm, after trying some more it seems that the Citrix reciever is working, but that there is just no plugin in the plugin-list in Firefox visible. When I go to my company's Citrix login page I can login and start a session. Firefox will ask if I want to save the launch.ica file or if I want to open it using the "Citrix Reciever Engine". When choosing the latter it just brings me into a Citrix session. So, it works, even without the plugin... It seems therefore that there is no problem after all...

I have installed the latest Citrix Receiver plugin from citrix.com, however Firefox does not recognize it. I can get logged in to our storefront server, but when I click to launch the XenApp desktop, FF opens a new tab and goes nowhere. I do not find the Citrix Receiver plugin in the addons manager.

With Ask to Activate, when you visit a site that wants to use a plugin, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and usually (but not always) one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.

If you see a good reason for the site to use the plugin, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click the notification icon in the address bar to allow it. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.

But some pages use plugins (especially Flash) only for tracking or playing ads, so if you don't see an immediate need for it, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you want to use it later.

It's puzzling because in the right column next to your question, Question Details > More System Details, your plugins list is much longer. What if you check my plugin lister page -- does it show the Citrix plugins?

Yes, big difference. So your Firefox is discovering OTHER new plugins as you install them, but still not finding Citrix? Usually it's all or nothing with seeing newly installed plugins, so I am not sure what is going wrong there.

In Firefox You can do this by:

1. Go to Tools->Add-ons

2. On the Add-ons page click on Plugins

3. Search for Citrix Receiver/ICA Client plugin

4. Disable the plugin and restart the browser.

A special Zoom VDI client and local plugin are required to take full advantage of Zoom in CUApps and SecureVDI. The Zoom VDI client will be provided as part of Citrix, but you will need to install a local plugin.

Once the plugin is installed and you are connected. Zoom VDI client will redirect audio/video to be processed by local hardware, but appear inside the VDI. You can verify it is working by going to Zoom, then settings -> statistics -> VDI tab.

I know that the Online Web Plugin (pre-version 13) could be installed without admin rights by the user (and only for that user, not everyone on the PC). It installs to that users AppData folder only. But I have not tried it with Receiver 3.0/Online Web plugin 13 yet. I was under the impression Receiver required admin rights to install. I think I was confusing it with Receiver Updater 3.0 (the one that works with Merchandising Server to update Receiver and all the plugins).

I have a followup question. After the first user installs the citrix receiver, any other user is still presented with the install button even though the citrix receiver is installed. Once these subsequent users enable the ActiveX control they are presented with the expected login screen. Is this what my users can expect or is there a way to detect that the receiver is installed and not present that screen?

Whenever I have a WebPage (based on chrome) that launces an external application - could be Citrix Receiver, ConnectWise, RDP gateway file and the like - instead of opening the external receiver application, Royal TS insists on downloading the file contents to a selected folder.

On (1) I installed Citrix Workspace via Windows 10 Store. And tried to invoke a Citrix Desktop. This didn't work, instead it just downloaded an .ica file. Did the same on (2), same result. Then I uninstalled the Citrix Workspace from both (1) and (2) and afterwards installed it with the .msi installer from the citrix website. It turns out, that those versions are different (Windows 10 Apps runs in some kind of restricted sandbox that causes all sorts of trouble, when communicating from third party apps). Now it works as well for Citrix connections. Royal TS now invokes the Citrix Receiver application instead of downloading the .ica file.

As of now, all my automated logins are working for ConnectWise and Citrix (hooray), RemoteApp and Desktop Connection still forces a download of a .rdp file when using Chrome engine, however this old technology is probably soon to be deprecated, and runs fine with the IE plugin it seems, which allows ActiveX to handle the invocation RDP connections without downloading anything.

I recently installed Citrix Workspace Version: 22.10.0.44 (2210) for Apple Silicon and since, the Citrix Plugin for Zoom no longer connects. I'm running the Zoom VDI client versino 5.12.3 (22070). I've tried reinstalling the plugin to no avail.

I have the same issue. The Apple Silicon Citrix Receiver does not seem to work with the Zoom Universal Plugin. When switching to the Intel version (using Rosetta), the plugin works fine. I don't know if Citrix or Zoom is to blame.

*If there are other websites in the list also change those to on as indicated above and repeat for all plugins needed. Examples include: Citrix Receiver, Java and Adobe Flash Player.

Quit Safari and try again.

I have a script that I wrote a few months back for the receiver plugin, perhaps it uses similar logic to the version you're deploying and can be adapted for it? Looks like many of the switches may be listed here -us/citrix-workspace-app-for-windows/install.html

Welcome back, in the previous post, we have configured the CAG and the StoreFront server to enable access to the internal XenApp/XenDesktop environment with a web browser. Now we are going to enable the environment to support internal and external access with the Self Service Plugin (Dazzle). First upgrade all receivers to the latest versions. Citrix Receiver 3.2 is necessary to get this working.

Alternatively browse to following address in your Chrome:

chrome://plugins/

Make sure Citrix Plug-in is enabledNote: It is important to have the latest version of Citrix Receiver installed on your operating system. If you are experiencing issues with Citrix Receiver for Windows, complete the following steps: ff782bc1db
