We were very disappointed to see there was no cord to use to import the pictures from the camera to the computer. Every other camera I have had used a cord. So, the first question would be, is there a cord available to purchase?

We tried connecting to wi-fi, followed all the steps, but then it kept giving us a message that it couldn't connect. We gave up after like 10 tries. Is there a way to get a hold of some tech person to help figure out why it isn't working. Our computer isn't the newest, but it isn't that old either, we got it 3 years ago, and it has Windows 10.

I ended up getting an accessory kit that included a card reader. I was able to successfully use the card reader for the first week I had it. Then a few times it would give me problems and I would have to try several times to import before it would work. Then today, after importing and deleting my latest pictures, I put my memory card back in my camera and received a "memory card error." I definitely am not thrilled with taking the memory card out of the camera so often to have to import my pictures. That is why I would really like to be able to find out if there is a cord available or if there is someone who can help us figure out the wi-fi.

I did use the tip given in my previous thread (the one about deleting pictures from the camera) to format the memory card, as I had never formatted it after using it in my old camera. Plus it had gotten up to 800 pictures that I hadn't been able to delete. So, I don't know if I have it fixed now. But I am very nervous about using that card reader again and losing my pictures.

Honestly, I know I had the cord down as my first question. But I would love to figure out the wifi thing because I don't feel we should have had to purchase something extra to import my pictures from the camera.

I'm new to Excel and I have a question how to do this right. I'm working on a workbook with 9 other people and our task is to take a picture from a component and link it in the Excel table. The photos are saved locally on my computer and it all works if I'd just use the worksheet here.

My question is:

If I have my worksheet saved in a folder like:

C:\Users\XXX\project

And the pictures in:

C:\Users\XXX\project\pictures

If you're also using the zoom controls on the computer to view a one image pixel to one screen pixel then this corresponds to not only making a huge enlargement but also looking at it through a magnifying glass.

A computer screen is much larger than an LCD, so you are viewing your photos at a much greater magnification and can see all the flaws which you couldn't see on the screen. In my humble opinion, changing cameras will do nothing to solve the problem - the Nikon Coolpix you have chosen is as good a camera as any for its price.

It is almost impossible to tell how sharp a photo is by looking at the LCD screen on your camera. It is just too small. I have had many photos that seemed great on the camera LCD actually be out of focus but couldn't tell until I viewed them on my computer. Also, the photos can look really bright on your camera LCD if you have the brightness up all the way but not so good on your monitor. But a couple of things you should try...

My night photos they look decent on the camera (not great... night shots are a paint), but they look pretty damn good (brightness, contrast, hues, color intensity). On my computer they dont look nearly as good.

If there is THAT much difference (no exaggeration?) then it's likely to say much more about your computer monitor than your camera. Try uploading a picture or two to your gallery and let us see what they look like on OUR monitors?

And those pictures are awful. The first one is dark, blurred and has no detail. I see that it was shot at 1/6 of a second, which is too long an exposure for hand-held pictures. I don't know why it's black and white except for some green in the pool.

Both those pictures look pretty bad on my monitor. The first is blurry (camera shake in all likelihood) and the second is fairly soft too, with some noise. They both are shot in low light and use very slow shutter speeds. Are they with the adjustments you mentioned or without PP? If with, can you post the OOC versions for us? Thanks!

Again the relative size of computer screen and small LCD will disguise the fact that they're awful shots. For example, I've taken quick snaps of a relation's little girl playing and in a 6x4 they look fine, but above that there is obvious blur from motion. And your camera screen is way smaller than a 6x4 !

Hello! I've got a ton of pictures on my phone (over 10k). I have a "mere" 1.5k of favorite photos. I'm trying to do a project with the favorite pictures, but I can't find a way to transfer just those to my computer. I only see how to transfer ALL of the pictures, and that's far too many to slog through. I tried to do a Dropbox transfer, but it's way too much for my Dropbox and I can only select a few at a time. Is there a secret to finding the favorites folder on my computer when I hook up a cable to my phone? Thank you!

If a memory card containing a large number of images is inserted, there may be a delay before the software starts and you may be unable to import or save images. Use a memory card reader to transfer pictures.

Make sure that the computer does not display a message stating that copying is in progress and that the indicator lamp is out before turning the camera off or disconnecting the USB cable (if the number of images copied is very large, the indicator lamp may remain lit after the message has cleared from the computer display). Failure to observe this precaution could result in loss of data or damage to the memory card.

I have an iphone 6, I had an iphone 4s & I imported all of my pictures and contacts ect. to my iphone 6. After the transition to my iphone 6, the pictures on my phone had to load whenever I tried to view them & if I wasn't connected to wifi they wouldn't load even if I had LTE service. Recently I have tried multiple times to download my pictures from my phone to my Toshiba laptop. As usual I plug my phone into my computer using the USB cord & then a screen pops up asking if I want to import my photos & it gives me an option to do it with windows live photo gallery and some other things. I choose the windows live photo gallery. My computer and phone go through the process of finding my pictures but it only find a little amount of my pictures. I have 900 pictures and it only finds 8 of my most recent ones. I am thinking this is because these recent pictures are loaded. But I don't know how to make all 900 pictures load & import. I also think it may have something to do with my storage.

Go ahead and check if you have this enabled and go to iCloud.com on your computer and sign in. There you can select photos and see if they show up there. If they do, you can go ahead and download the photos from there to your computer.

Hi, I have an LG enV TOUCH phone, and I took a few pictures with them that I'd like to move to my computer. My computer does not have the necessary hardware to do this via bluetooth, and I didn't get any software CD when I ordered the phone. I'd like to know if there's any possible way to get the pictures from my phone onto my computer using the USB cable that came with the phone (that plugs into the bottom of the phone and the charger). I do not have a microSD card, either, so if there's any way to directly access the pictures from my computer, I'd appreciate it. (I also know the method of e-mailing pictures messages to yourself, but I would like to save my texts for other things, if possible.)

Secondly, I will have a microSD card soon. I know how to use a microSD/USB adapter to move data from phone to computer (I have worked with an LG Dare before, and I assume the process is similar), but I am also wondering, in addition to doing it without a card, if I will need to purchase the adapter for me to be able to transfer data from the card to my computer.

Just hit CLR or end when you get that message to "sync" - then on the phone, go to Menu>>Tools and Settings>>Tools>>USB Mass Storage. It will connect and you can see the phone as a drive on your computer. You aren't going to "SYNC", so you need to get out of that mode and just view the contents of the SD card via USB.

I tried doing "Tools and Settings" > "Tools" > "USB Mass Storage" while my phone is hooked up to my computer, but all I get is the message "CARD NOT INSERTED." Is this how I access pictures without the aid of a USB adapter, given that I have a card?

You could get an EyeFi memory card which will automatically save photos to your computer as you take them via your wireless home network. (If you take photos away from home, when you return, it will transfer the photos then, automatically.) 2351a5e196
