Hi, I used the P1000 for a full day at the zoo ! A nice place for a super zoom camera. You can see the pictures and data from Exif starting at the page below : -P1000/P1000-Zoo.htm You can also click for the full size JPG (4608 x 3456, fine mode) and if you would like to see them on a UHD TV download to a USB device. For more pictures with the P1000, see my stunning astronomy gallery : -P1000/P1000.htm

. I did watch the pictures you post on you DPreview gallery from you Nikon P900, but they are reduces to 2MP, I would however like to see the quality of the originals at 16MP. It just seems to me that all pictures from P900 and P1000 and other compact super zoom brands seems OK when reduced to 2MP, but when enlarged to original 16MP, then starts blurriness. I would be happy to see a link for some of your original images at full size not reduced.

So they are showing samples of a 3000mm equivalent zoom, everyone is interested in the long end but 66 of the 70 samples are under 1500mm equivalent and two of those are the same shot, one SOC jpeg the other processed from RAW. So basically 3 pictures above 1500mm on a 3000mm camera.

Yeah, the image quality from the sensor degrades quickly once the aperture closes down, but overall the telephoto pictures mostly still look pretty decent. This camera shows just how spoiled we are these days. For the right customers, it will be a very fun camera!

Hi, I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, I bought on ebay a nikon coolpix l340, I have not sold glassware on ebay for quite a while, but have a bunch to sell now. I downloaded Capture NX-D, which is supposed to be nikon's software for their cameras, but I can't figure out how to get the pictures transferred from the camera to the computer. I am using a usb cable, my hard drive doesn't take a memory card. I use to use photosuite and it had an option "get photos from...." and I cannot find anything similar on nikon's program, nor my windows 10 photo program. Any suggestions? thanks, Connie

First, I set the camera to download mode (newer cameras may not even require this step). Then, I plug the USB cable into my camera and computer and turn on the camera. My computer will soon recognize that a new device was plugged in and a popup will ask what I want to do with it. Usually, I don't like the options I see, so, on my Windows computer, I instead click the "My Computer" icon and that will open a screen displaying a row of icons representing all the devices plugged into my computer, including the camera. Clicking the camera icon will open it's memory contents or picture folder for viewing, and I can drag those pictures from the camera to my computer.

Hi everyone... just upgraded from my almost 5 year old Canon PowerShot to the Nikon Coolpix L120. So far... very disappointed. I need to preface this that I am NOT a pro photographer, just a person who likes pictures- and I know very little about the terminology, etc. I just want sharp, crisp, vivid photos. The first pictures I took, on the auto "easy" mode (I would assume it would be good for a beginner...) anything that moved in the photo blurred heavily. I take photos of my dogs OFTEN so this was a disappointment. My friend messed with the ISO and I was able to get some quickly. However I find that my pictures are looking washed out and dull, and almost pixilated (as if more light was needed) instead of crisp and vivid. My old Canon did a better job (although I'm sure this is a learning curve for me) and my mother-in-law's new Canon Powershot does a MUCH better job. I really need some tips to improve photos! But keep in mind I'm nowhere near a pro... just someone who wants to take cute pictures of her nephew and dogs :)

I tried all of the suggested ways & none of them worked! Then I had an epiphany!(LOL..I wanted to use that word for the longest) Anyway, I took my SD card out of the camera/Favorited all of the pictures that I wanted to transfer from camera to SD card/Reinserted SD card/

After FINALLY receiving my P1000 (Jan) after weeks on backorder,

I have to say, it's way better on Action Shots than Reviews give it!

It's pretty much all I take is "Sports Pictures" But I also wanted to switch to a Bridge Camera w/a lense that could reach the moon!

Well I've succeeded in doing both w/the FIERCE Nikon Coolpix P1000 my pictures are Proof it's ALL THAT!

Also, the battery stays charged LONGER than the Reviews give it! I've taken over 1000 pics (normal for me) on 1 Battery charge and edited those pics from camera.

Cons; No Touch Screen, Weight, Smaller Sensor.

Pro's: Everything Else!

All pictures were taken at full resolution unless otherwise stated. When pictures are taken at full resolution, file sizes range from around 5Mb to 6.6Mb. Knock the compression down to normal (choose the full resolution without the star next to it) and this can as much as halve the file size. This frees up space on the memory card, but pictures such as close-ups won't be as finely detailed.

Make sure that you have latest version of firmware if the issue remains there ask Microsoft about the issue -en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7842/~/nikon-coolpix-s6300-firmware-ver.-1.1-download

No drivers that I am aware of. The computer recognizes the camera to download pictures from the flash card when not using the SC-EW3 Serial Cable Comm Port plug. The other cable it uses for connection to a USB works just like any other Nikon camera when connecting up with a USB to transfer pictures. e24fc04721
