For years Ive used Picasa (to organize and email pictures) using Thunderbird as my email client. Im getting a msg from Picasa saying I havent chose a default email client. I have and its Thunderbird. Ive checked and double checked, done a new install of windows 10 (keeping apps and files) and nothing changes. Where would you suggest I look for answers. I know Picasa isnt supported anymore, but I like it, and it does work and do everything I want (just like Thunderbird does)

Ill be danged, 32 bit was the key. Must be T Bird updated itself a while ago on my computers and make it 64 bit to match the OS.Many thanks.Because picasa is 32 bit, they werent communicating properly with a 64 bit T Bird, I would guess

Picasa uses picasa.ini files to keep track of keywords for each image. In addition to this, Picasa attaches IPTC Information Interchange Model (IPTC) keyword data to JPEG files, but not to any other file format. Any december updates for this year? I am just starting work on 64GB of photo files and I really want to use Picasa. So please tell me, is the metadata working well with picasa? or still screwy! Portability is a big concern as I will be sharing photos with friends and family.

I would like to see some of my compressed images on windows photo viewer. Could anyone direct me on how to go about doing this? Where may I find specifications to create a codec that would work with windows photo viewer?

I am guessing that I could create a codec as a .ddl file and place it in some windows directory and Photo Viewer could decode my file format. I have seen some softwares from Nikon imaging that, once installed, allowed photo viewer to display the .NEF (Nikon's RAW) files.
