I took pictures this weekend for an event and when I look through my sd card (while it is in the camera) my images are there but they do not show up when I am trying to download the images to my computer, all of my previous images show up but not the ones from this recent event. Can anyone shed some light to help me out, I am on a deadline!

Looking for replies here. FWIW, I have used a USB cable, card reader and found, by accident, a slot in my Dell laptop for the card. My first card reader died and wouldn't download photos. Went back to the cable and then the slot.

I have a Canon EOS R5, and I've had the same problem. The photos show up on my SD card and not my iMac when I place the SD card in the reader. The camera has dual card slots, but the CFExpress Type B card was not in the slot at the time. I think I can figure this out, but in the meantime, I was able to copy the information from the SD to the type B using this method, which was a workaround. =content&id=ART178235

After connecting my smartphone to my computer and putting it into file transfer mode, I can find the location of the imported photo. However, this is a hassle and something that I'll never do if I'm out in the field. One of the advantages of the app and it's import photos feature is to be able to share images immediately after they're shot.

I am not sure how locked in your work flow is, but I would suggest a change. Instead of going from the camera to a mobile device, and then to your computer. Why don't you go from camera to computer, and THEN to your mobile device?

I'm asking about the camera -> mobile connection when I don't have my computer. Like when I'm traveling and I don't want to lug it along. In the past, I'd wait until returning home from my trip and then I'd upload to my computer. I'll still probably do this but it would be nice to post a photo now and then before the end of the trip. The best option is to use my iPad, import the RAW, and edit in Lightroom.

I carry a yoga laptop, multiple cards and my Pixel when I'm on the road. I transfer the days photos to the laptop every night. Some of the photos get moved to my mobile for easy sharing "connect app", This way I have 2 or more back ups of the entire trip. When I get home I transfer everything from the cards to a NAS. Virtually impossible to lose data like this. I prefer my yoga to my macbook air since it has a built in card reader... but I carry one of those too, so pretty much prepared for any situation.

I've tried every version of this app since 2017 and it has never had this option and I doubt it ever will. I sideloaded it on my Kindle Fire 10 (2019 version) and to share images, I have to open my photos album and share from there. I've never used Google Photos, so I can't say if there might be a setting in that app to point it to where Canon Connect stores it's photos. On my Kindle, they go to a "photos" folder, which I never set it to do, it's just by default I guess. Also, when I select a photo, I get asked what app I want to open the file with. I know this is just a feature of the Amazon Android version, but still, it's a nice feature. It does seem to be more robust than the version of Android that is on our phones, which I would expect. I also use the ES File Explorer app, which allows me to browse my Android devices, similar to Windose file explorer, and it has a LAN feature that allows me to connect to all of the computers "shared" drives and foldrs on my home network, which allows for easy transfer (WiFi) to and from devices.

I'm so used to just uploading my RAW files from my camera to my laptop computer. Lightroom CC imports them to an external drive, which is connected to my Thunderbolt port. These are organized by date \YEAR\MONTH. If I've already imported the RAW file to Lightroom on my iPad, I won't need to upload it from my camera to my laptop. I just need to sync. However, I still want the RAW file stored on my external HD because it is the source from which I backup to with the routines I have created in Acronis backup software. So I'll need to figure out how to deal with this.

Here is my journey:

1. Went to Canon to download the software for my laptop (I have a Macbook Air), but the website says there is no software for Catalina.

2. Tried to download the software for Mojave figuring it was close enough. It wasn't and wouldn't even open. (Pretty sure this is software is for the OLD CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Online Photo Album which was discontinued in March 2020.)

3. Tried connecting my camera wirelessly to my laptop hoping it would just work. It didn't.

4. Tried attaching my camera to my laptop with a USB-B cord, using an USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect the cord to my laptop. Didn't work. Computer didn't read the camera it all.

Solution:

1. Finally figured out that I should go to

2. Walked through the steps to connect my camera (simple enough - put your camera on wifi, put in your email to verify your account, etc.)

3. Selected the little Cloud with a Camera icon on my camera.

4. Selected on my laptop that I wanted to also upload to Google Photos.

5. Little green light on camera started flickering and the pics started rolling in to the ihub.image.canon website as well as my Google Photos. (Pics are only on ihub for 30 days, is says)

6. Downloaded ALL pics from ihub to my laptop. They arrived in two zip drives and open in Preview.

So, now my pics are safe and sound in Google Photos AND my laptop.

I got my EOS R yesterday and on my first test run, I got dark rings on the photos. Rings are not consistent. Some photos come without these rings. And the shape of the rings is not consistent as well.

Could you please help me out to figure out, is this something fixable on settings or is there any issue with the camera?

Lomography's LomoChrome '92 is designed to mimic the look of classic drugstore film that used to fill family photo albums. As we discovered, to shoot with it is to embrace the unexpected, from strange color shifts to odd textures and oversized grain.

When I first tried my new Canon R5 with SanDisk 128Gb CFexpress card, it shows I could take up to about 2400 RAW photos. After upgrading to 1.3.0 firmware and making customized settings on the camera, now it shows I can take up to 1916 RAW photos only.

Thank you for the info. Both of my R5 and 128Gb CFexpress card are brand new; and did notice the estimated number of photos goes down when I increased ISO. I will try to take some photos and see how the counter changes.

I have a new 500D with the kit lens. I took it out for a few test shots at night and almost all the photos with a long exposure (around 10 secs), have a red dot on them at the same place. I could not see this on some of the brighter images.

It is not a dirty sensor. Yes, hot pixels are a fact of life but, no, they don't have to appear in photos such as this. And you do not want to rely on your post-processing software to deal with the issue in the case of long exposures like this one. There is a setting on your camera that will eliminate the "problem" on long exposures.

This will eliminate the red (and green and blue) dots. This setting causes the camera to take a second "dark frame" exposure following each long exposure. The dark frame exposure does not capture the scene - it only captures the "hot pixel" and noise data. It then subtracts this data from the actual image to virtually remove these normal hot pixels and increased noise. 2351a5e196
