Hey! Whenever I try to choose my own picture as a background for a whisper or a reply to a whisper, the gallery is blank/white despite having given the app permission to access my phone's files and pictures.

On this April morning fog settled over the Estes Valley while gentle clouds drifted above. This type of weather rarely happens up here in our dry air. I had intended to head for the mountains for sunrise but I couldn't resist the potential provided by the fog. It took me quite a while to find a good spot to incorporate both the fog and Longs Peak with its fresh snow, but in the end I found a spot near Eagle Rock. The bird in this photo was a wonderful surprise. I had no idea he was in the photo until I saw the image later.

The print only option is the most affordable route to go. It is just what it sounds like: prints on high quality archival photographic paper without any mounting or framing. One of the benefits of going this route is that you can bring them to your local frame shop to have the matted and framed exactly as you like. Small prints are also great if you are in a hurry as they usually arrive in 5-7 days from the time of order. Larger prints may take up to 3 weeks to make and ship.

This is a great way to make your plaque stand out, particularly if you have a wall color that is similar to the image. What we do is create another plaque, completely black, which is larger than the picture plaque. This large back plaque floats off your wall using a French Cleat. Then, the picture plaque is attached to the back plaque with another French Cleat. The result is a very three-dimensional feel as the photo seems to float off the of back plaque which itself is floating off of the wall. This is a great way to create a centerpiece image as it always attracts a lot of attention.

Before I became a commercial photographer, I worked full time as a digital creative director in a variety of ad agencies in London for just over 12 years. During the last few years, I noticed how social media was becoming increasingly important within the campaign work I was doing. Simultaneously my personal Instagram account was growing at a steady pace, and I began to get commissioned by notable brands like Lonely Planet, Jaguar, and Adidas to name a few. However the illustrator worked through a different creative process for her newest book, The Whisper (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), which she both wrote and illustrated for the first time. The story is about a young girl who receives a book with only pictures, then a whisper urges her to create the words she cannot see.

Winter showed its teeth this morning; it was -16 when we woke up, and the farm was especially beautiful on the crisp, clear morning. The sun appeared in a cloudless sky, and the animals soaked it up. I decided to do a photo journal, hoping to capture the feeling of the first really cold morning since Summer.

This technique consists of direct applying a gloss acrylic-glass plate onto the photograph after mounting, providing protection while accentuating the colours and therefore giving the print greater depth. This finish is ideal for heightening the colours of the photograph.
