Hi Andrew, I just wanted to create a ruler at particular distance(Like a GUI to pop up to ask from the point of cursor to what distance you need to create a ruler and by entering the number in GUI it should create a ruler to that distance) for that I have used dbCreateRuler() function but its not working properly as I expected.

I come from Photoshop (on a PC), where the rulers have additional options (probably more than I know). This request focuses on three options that I regularly use. If the team decides they want to only implement one of them, then I prefer the Flip option.

1 - Flip guidelines with ALT key

When I need a guideline, I often select it from whichever ruler is closest to my pointer. In Photoshop I am used to holding down the ALT key, to flip that guideline to its alternate axis.

3 - Recenter Zero marker

Yes, I know, but may be there are some solutions that except the little triangle you see also the exact position (a small window with number traveling in place of that small triangle). I did not know if maybe the question was about such (hypothetical) rulers. It might have some sense. But as you need to position at the same time with X and Y axis I prefer to see both numbers together.

If you edit some picture that will be just printed at paper than exact positions are not important and such simple rulers are helpful. If you are interested in exact positions than for me they to be helpful have to be precision.

I fixed this by dragging my tools bar to the left side of the screen, which caused a blue line to appear. When I let go it snapped into place and the ruler / canvas area moved over to the right of the tool bar. Example:

I am fairly certain that the answer is no, as the editor stands right now. The only thing remotely related is the right-margin line, which can be set in Options, under Editor, then Formatting. It, by no means, serves as a ruler, but at least gives you a hint that you've reached a particular column.

If by ruler you mean you want to show which character/column you're on, you can get that information from the looking in the bottom right hand portion of the editor window (shown as "row | column"), but if by ruler you mean grid, it isn't doable with Netbeans out of the box.
