All this really means, is thinning the paints right down, until they have the consistency of milk. When you paint them onto the model you are just looking to wet the surface with them, effectively tinting it.
Over repeated applications of the glaze, you build up the colour you want. Unlike washes, where you want them to flow into all the recesses, with glazing you need to be more controlled and not let the paint run.
The Osage were renowned for their skills in warfare, which allowed for the expansion of their territory during the 18th century. They had two primary war strategies: bluff war and no-quarter war. Bluff war was characterized by psychological tactics. The Osage would insult their enemy with gestures to draw them into fighting. When the Osage killed adversaries, they sometimes removed the heads of their opponents, placing them on stakes to scare off the rest of their rivals. Bluff war tactics were frequently used against groups like the Pawnee. The Osage preferred not to kill unless it was absolutely necessary. They would often capture and sell enemies as slaves to southeastern tribes. No-quarter warfare was used when the Osage could not simply defeat the enemy with fear tactics. This tactic was used against the Kiowa and Cheyenne to the west and southwest of the Osage.
Psychological tactics of intimidation were a component in all Osage wars, both through actions like beheadings and through visual indications, such as war paint. The Osage would prepare paint for war to look intimidating. The warriors wore black paint during war, because to them, black symbolized merciless fire that destroyed everything in its way. When they painted their whole heads or bodies with black paint, it meant no-quarter warfare. They would paint the upper half of the face black and the lower half yellow or orange during a bluff war.

Due to their skeletal Terminator vibe, I wanted to go beyond layering them in silver paint with a quick wash and calling it a done job, although if you absolutely positively need to get your miniatures painted in time for a game then this is still a viable option! All the miniatures were lightly primed with a Bone/off white colour spray primer. This was done a while ago as a sort of faction colour coding while playtesting.
Dark green was used as a starting point so the bright, more opaque colours would apply smoothly. This was followed by progressively lighter and louder greens for extra brightness. I would say that this was one of my favourite parts to paint as it adds a lot of character to this mini.
Although there is never a set way to paint your miniatures, I hope this blog post has given you some ideas about how you can approach The Institute. This report describes research that was conducted to measure the efficacy of various decontaminants on partially permeated chemicals into paint and sealant layers. It includes research that considered added chemicals that would function as intermediates to improve the accessibility of the water-based decontaminant to the permeated chemical agent. The results of this research will inform the EPA response community and other Federal, State, Tribal and Local agencies on the expected partitioning of VX, HD, malathion, and fipronil into permeable materials (e.g., paints and sealants) and its impact on the decontamination processes as a critical part of the remediation strategy to cleanup these contaminated sites.

Perfluoralkalation via plasma chemical vapor deposition has been used to improve hydrophobicity of surfaces. We have investigated this technique to improve the resistance of commercial polyurethane coatings to chemicals, such as chemical warfare agents. The reported results indicate the surface treatment minimizes the spread of agent droplets and the sorption of agent into the coating. The improvement in resistance is likely due to reduction of the coating's surface free energy via fluorine incorporation, but may also have contributing effects from surface morphology changes.
