An overpass (called an overbridge or flyover in the United Kingdom and some other Commonwealth countries) is a bridge, road, railway or similar structure that crosses over another road or railway. An overpass and underpass together form a grade separation.[1] Stack interchanges are made up of several overpasses.

In North American usage, a flyover is a high-level overpass, built above main overpass lanes, or a bridge built over what had been an at-grade intersection. Traffic engineers usually refer to the latter as a grade separation. A flyover may also be an extra ramp added to an existing interchange, either replacing an existing cloverleaf loop (or being built in place of one) with a higher, faster ramp that eventually bears left, but may be built as a right or left exit.

Am new to city engine but have been working on it for a few days now, seems pretty interesting in generating 3D models, been working with the default CGA rules that i manage to download. I had an issue while trying to develop an overpass bridge over an roundabout, the overpass is ment to act as a link to two bike lanes that are diconnected by the roundabout.

After geting my streets from get maps data OSM data, option I created a street to act as an overpass but when I try generating a bridge from the "Generate Bridges" tool it does not extrude above but levels down same as the other streets, I was forced to elevate the street crossing over the round about by using the move tool. my problem come in when I want to produce pillars to help support the bike street above that crosses over the roundabout.

Just click on "Export" -> "raw data directly from Overpass API" in overpass turbo to download an .osm file (don't press run!). Then convert that .osm file into .gpx with whatever tool you have at hand.

I cannot reproduce this here. If overpass turbo works ok with the default setting "//overpass-api.de/api/", I don't see a reason, why the download shouldn't work. Maybe some funny antivirus/firewall/etc. thing?

Have you tried this out before? Copy-pasting the query won't work, as the original query has Overpass Turbo specific parts in it (like {{bbox}}). If you send that 'syntactic sugar' directly Overpass API, you'll get lots of error messages! Overpass API doesn't know about {{bbox}} and only overpass turbo will do a proper translation before sending it to Overpass API.

That's where my browser gets very sluggish with a lot of data. For some reason I don't get a save as file dialog. Whereas in overpass turbo, I could right click on "raw data directly from Overpass API" and just save the result in a file, without bothering too much with rendering all that JSON/XML data in the browser.

The Lewis Street Overpass project will join 2nd Avenue on the west to Oregon Ave on the east.
