My phone has developed an odd and hard to reproduce problem lately. I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks using BeyondPod. Throughout the day, I often pause and resume the tracks using the play/pause button on the headset. Usually this works without a hitch, but at random times it will launch the basic Android music player and start playing music, rather than resuming my audiobook where it was last paused.

When I listen to music, I use Rocket Player. I have never intentionally launched the basic player. I used to have random conflicts between BeyondPod and Rocket Player, but after being told by the Rocket devs that they couldn't control which player got control if I had headset controls enabled in both players, I just started switching off the headset controls in Rocket Player when I wasn't using it. This worked for a while until recently when the basic player started launching instead.

Is there any way to be able to select a system-wide default music player so it will stop launching the basic one? I couldn't find a setting for this in my phone. Alternatively, is there a way to mark an app as "higher priority" so it is less likely to be kicked out by other apps? Any other thoughts on solving this?

General problem, i am unable to play music from the owncloud sync folder, because no music was found. When i take a look with a file explorer, the data is there.

I tried it with different music players wich are able to work with local files, but none see more than

After searching music apps who can access this files i see the only reason to make no update looks like to sell another music app who can do this (with money or ads or stealing my data). No functional stock music player on android, welcome back to the dark age of the waybearer. Thank you google that i have to pay to get access to my music+.

At this point, because i fdroid, i have to steal a player or go back to a native mp3player.

I have one of the Chinese android head units. Does anyone know how to change the default music player app? I have downloaded other ones which work fine, but if for example I press play, or skip track on the unit itself it only controls the default music app? The default app starts playing at the same time as the other one! Can't find anything in the settings menus to choose a different default music app

Normally when I play a mp3 file its in the my files app, which just loads a simple inapp player. I can't even select a different app to open my files, as soon as I hit "open with", it starts up Spotify. I have Google music I stalled but that's been disabled for a long time, that's about it.

I used to have an iPod Touch. It was great. It did everything I needed and I was happy to have a separate music player and mobile phone. But one day, Apple updated the software and after that Smart Playlists (ones that automatically update) stopped working on the device. The only way I could get the playlists to update was to sync with the computer and the iTunes database. It was largely due to this oversight/bug that when development on the Touch stalled (and my eyes needed a bigger screen) that I decided to jump over to Android rather than have an iPhone.

All of this may sound quite insignificant to many people, but I need music to work. I cannot work in peace and quiet, so having a music player that does what I want is important to me. That I can use my phone rather than PC also means that I get much better sound as I can use my Bluetooth speaker.

I have developed an app to time my exercise. When I play an internal sound "one minute" to notify my exercise period has one minute to go it causes my external (default) music player to pause. I want to find a way to prevent the player from pausing.

No Sir,

I have music running on my default Phone Music app and I want to player sounds (short) within my MIT app inventor app without it causing my (external to MIT) music from being put into pause mode

AGAIN: TaiFun had it right when he stated:

This is not something you can configure from within your app but from the music player app...

You could try several music player apps and probably you can find a player, which does not pause...

If you program a music player in App Inventor there is the event OtherPlayerStarted, which can be used to pause the music or not

Sometimes, keeping it simple is the best strategy. Default Music Player takes this mantra and runs with it, delivering an incredibly streamlined service that lets music fans get instant access to their favourite tracks and playlists, with none of the waiting around and distractions of other streaming services and media players.

Create playlists or organize albums, and enjoy ready compatibility with a whole host of file types. Wherever you've pulled your music from, you'll be able to sort and play it with ease with this handy music player app.

Perfect for users who want to prioritize offline play, this app makes the ideal home for already downloaded tracks and bought music files. Rather than get distracted with recommendations and pop ups, this app instead lets you connect straight away with the music you've already sought out and selected, with simple swipe and tap navigation that makes this a great player for listening to while you're on the move.

Listen to all kinds of music with Samsung Music, a great music player that supports, MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC files. Not only that, but this app will instantly detect, import and organize all the music on your device.

Samsung Music has all the features you could wish for in a great Android music player, including lock screen controls and the ability to create playlists. This app also has an equalizer you can use to customize the playback.

Usually with a music app, the music player will show up on your lock screen allowing basic controls. It'll show up for me when I first turn my phone on, but after that it goes away and doesn't come back. I already checked my lock screen and notification settings, I feel like this is tied to whatever bug is fading out the skip and repeat buttons too. Please look into it, I relied heavily on this feature and I'll probably go back to Amazon or Spotify if it doesn't get fixed.

Hey, same issue... No music controls on my lock screen... I have to unlock my phone and swipe down the status bar to skip songs.. I have completed all the recommended steps and still not working.. I have android 11 LG v60

You can go into the Galaxy app store and download the Samsung music player. They removed it to debloat the device, but left the option for people to download it if they want to use it. You could use another music player as well.

Music, formerly known as Walkman, is an audio player software for Android. Developed by Sony Corporation (and previously by Sony Mobile), it is the default music player on Xperia devices and comes preloaded on them.

Music was launched as Walkman in 2012, debuting on Sony's first in-house smartphones the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U. It replaced the previous Music Player app on Sony Ericsson devices.[1] Before this, the music player on the Sony Ericsson Zylo and Live with Walkman were also called Walkman.

The Walkman app included all the features that were found on the digital Walkman portable music players of the time.[2] It featured an interface similar to the 'Cover Flow' of the iPod. Features included SensMe channels and Music Unlimited integration.[3]

Some Spotify users reported that they cannot use Spotify as default music player when they try to play songs in their cars via Bluetooth. And this issue happens to both iPhone and Android users. Either they don't know how to reset the default music player on their phone, or they can't find a way to set Spotify as the default music player.

In this post, you'll learn how to make Spotify default music player on iPhone, Android, as well as, other devices. As a bonus tip, we'll introduce a better way to play Spotify music with any music player on your device.

Spotify, as a music streaming service, focuses on streaming music from their extensive catalog primarily. While Apple Music/iTunes can be set as the default music service on most of the devices, especially on Apple devices, setting Spotify as your primary music player is not widely supported. It's very frustrating if you try to set the Spotify app as the default one on your Mac:

If you prefer to use Spotify as your default music player for certain actions like playing music files anywhere, you're highly recommended to upload your music files to its Spotify desktop app. If you are using a computer that running Windows or Mac, you don't need a Premium subscription to upload your music files to Spotify. When you upload them to Spotify, they become part of your Spotify library and can be accessed and played within the Spotify app. However, Spotify does not have the ability to take over as the default music player for all music files on your devices but only the uploaded ones. ff782bc1db
