On my windows laptop, the desktop is my OneDrive desktop. If I edit a file on my Desktop, it edits them on a folder called "Desktop" under another folder called "OneDrive" - the folder that syncs everything to the cloud.

The files on my desktop are saved in C:\Users\me\OneDrive\Desktop but I want to see the files on my desktop which are located at C:\Users\me\Desktop. When I create a new file on my desktop it does not appear in the C:\Users\me\Desktop folder which would be my goal.

I clicked the OneDrive icon at the taskbar and went to the account setting where I disabled all selected folders to be synchronised. I then looged out from OneDrive and deleted the C:\Users\me\OneDrive folder. Then I restarted my machine. As a test I created a new file on my desktop and went to C:\Users\me\Desktop where the file didnt appeared .. again.When I look at the properties of the file it sais that it is actually located in the OneDrive Desktop folder (which I deleted).

After removing/disabling OneDrive, navigate to the OneDrive desktop folder that is giving you problems using windows explorer (C:\Users\me\OneDrive\Desktop). Right click on that folder and click properties. Navigate to the folders location tab and press restore default. This worked for me. There is a chance you need to manually find the desired folder location via move and click on the existing folder (C:\Users\me\Desktop).

I need to add an excel file stored on my business onedrive to my existing data in PBI Desktop. I've followed the instructions online (opening the file in excel on my local machine, copying the link, adding web data source, and using organizational credentials) but I always get an error indicating my credentials are invalid. Part of the problem is that the link I get in Excel for OSX (using either the "share" button and copy link or going to "share">"Copy Link" does not look like everyone elses I've seen on line. Regardless of what you call the folder, it displays as Desktop in the OneDrive file list. If you have three computer desktops syncing to the same OneDrive account, each uses a different folder name but displays as Desktop.

how can I activate preview of affinity files, when they are stored in onedrive AND synced locally. Same files "only" on my hardrive are shown with a preview in Win10. But when synced, the files are local too??

But my point is that there must be something Affinity can do as it works on onedrive with other files (adobe files, png, pdf, jpeg, microsoft docs, spreadsheets & powerpoints all work fine on onedrive) - So how does microsoft, adobe and the others manage it? I even tried just making the affinity files 'always on this pc' but that still didn't work.

It is not obvious from the docs how to synchronize my desktop app with my mobile app. Note that I don't use any external cloud provider or service like Evernote, just installed Joplin in both desktop and mobile, added some notes in desktop and want to test syncing with mobile. Is this possible to do directly via the app or do I need to use an external cloud provider to host the data so it can be synced across devices?
