Edit (6/14): thanks for all of the feedback everyone. So far from here I've learned of Skiff and Onlyoffice as great alternatives and also Cryptpad. So pricing wise it looks like if you want to use protonmail for both business and personal it's $75 a year. Onlyoffice is free but you can use hosting for a flat fee of $150. Skiff is in beta and has yet to announce pricing. Cryptpad is free.

I have really tried to use LibreOffice any number of times ever since I first heard about it. At first, I thought it was pretty good. However, the more formatting features I try to use, the more functional differences I find between LiberOffice and EVERY other office suite I have ever used. I would prefer using WPS office for opening pre existing files as I find it has better compatibility with files created in microsoft office but prefer libreoffice for creating new files. I just checked an RHEL 9.1 ISO and it has several libreoffice packages such as libreoffice-base-7.1.8.1-7.el9.x86_64.rpm On a RHEL 9 server dnf group info Workstation lists an office-suite Optional Group anddnf group info office-suite lists several libreoffice packages. Of course the ability to install isn't the same thing as supported.
