Previously, navigating to some chrome:// URLs using tabs.update(), tabs.create, and windows.create() emitted an error or would crash Chrome. Also, tabs.update() couldn't open a Javascript URL. In Chrome 117, we expanded the number of supported chrome:// URLs, and the Javascript URL blocking now also applies to all extension API methods.

In Chrome 117, users will receive proactive notifications on the Chrome Extensions page if an extension they've installed is no longer available on the Chrome Web Store. This can happen if the developer unpublishes the extension, it's taken down for policy violations, or it's identified as malware. For a deep dive, see Bringing Safety Check to the chrome://extensions page.

I'm not sure if it's when Chrome Updates or the 1Password Extension but the "Activate the extension" keyboard shortcut keeps getting reset to Cmd+Shift+X. Since I use my browser to edit documents, this conflicts with the "strikethrough" text formatting shortcut so I'm consistently having to reset it. I've tried using a different shortcut as well as removing the shortcut to no avail. Ever since I switched to 1Password 8 and the "new" browser extension this has been happening (so for several months). This happens on all of my Chrome Profiles.

This has been happening to me for about a year. It's incredibly frustrating as I, like the OP, use Google Docs and Command-Shift-X is strike-through. It's especially frustrating because it takes so many clicks to reset the shortcut (and it's really hard to find). I'd guess the reset happens about once a month, but I'm never quite sure what triggered it.

So when im on google and scroll down or interact with something there's some random black glitch on part of my screen happening. This does not happen on any specific sites. It happened for the first time when i scrolled down on a site.

I have had issues in the past with the "Aw Snap" error from Google chrome, Google forums are lacking to say the least in information on how to correct this problem. What I have done to resolve this issue was to remove the Symantec Endpoint Protection then reinstall it after I see that it comes back up. I have had this happen to about 4 machines in the same week. Is there anything else that can be done? I have removed and reinstalled Chrome, cleaned it up, restarted and made sure there were no add ons or other unusual programs.

I try to import PW's from the .csv that i created in chrome, to finally delete all PW's saved in Chrome.

Now KP seems not to do anything, if i import.

Since i already did that a few weeks ago (worked), there is a folder in KP "Chrome Passwords".

I have a question. Most every time I open my Google Chrome browser on my desktop computer I get an intrusion attempt. Does this mean that my Google chrome browser is compromised?  I have stopped using that browser and I wondered if I should just delete it from my PC? If I did would that get rid of what ever is making this intrusion come up or the intrusion doesn't have anything to do with the browser? I have Norton 360 Premium. My pc is a Dell desktop with windows 10.

When Offclaydolon.com redirects a browser to an advertisement, the ads are typically for unwanted chrome extensions, surveys, adult sites, online web games, fake software updates, and unwanted programs.

I do not get redirected to Offclaydolon.com. After I open google chrome browser, Norton gives the intrusion warning, but the browser opens to the expected home page. Since it only happens with Chrome, and not my other two browsers, I just wondered if there is something compromised in the Chrome browser? If there's no redirecting, is there something wrong with the browser?

Yes, my homepage on Chrome is So it does not appear to be a redirect, evidently just an attempted intrusion. Once I'm onto the homepage and it does not change I get the intrusion warning. The warning from Norton says the intrusion was blocked and no action is required. Whatever is going on is happening at launch of the chrome browser.

If you're troubleshooting an issue with the Azure portal, and you need to contact Microsoft support, you may want to first capture some additional information. For example, it can be helpful to share a browser trace, a step recording, and console output. This information can provide important details about what exactly is happening in the portal when your issue occurs.

Ex_Brit. I disagree with you completely. Mcafee is constantly changing my search engine to Yahoo. I have done everything Mcafee is forcing me to to to prevent this from happening and it still happens.

Google has made yet another change to Chrome's "under the hood" settings with the removal of the chrome://plugins page in version 57, so how do you access the settings for plugins now? Today's SuperUser Q&A post has the answer to a frustrated reader's question.

Until recently, Google Chrome allowed a person to enable or disable plugins (like Adobe Flash Player) using the chrome://plugins page. But it seems that the page no longer exists (as of Google Chrome 57.0.2987.98). So how do I access Google Chrome's plugins now?

I was able to reproduce the behavior in Vivaldi (which is based on chrome) and prevent it from happening by adding in some extra spaces. Though as a note it still happened somewhat when spaces where just added around the '+' sign.

This is happening for me on all notes, long or short. It reverts back after a few seconds. It happens in both firefox and chrome. Sometimes it happens without me changing the note, sometimes I have to start editing the note to have it revert back.

I just experienced this behavior this morning. I doubt there was anything about the note that triggered it. It seemed that when it closed the "expand note" view, it shifted focus to the note list, which meant that the editing toolbar also disappeared. I found it extremely hard to get editing focus back into the note. Very aggravating; and then for no more reason that when it started happening, it stopped. Mighty weird.
