Just wondering if anyone has experience with NICE media player? I have NICE media play 6 - has been working fine for about 1 week, suddenly video.nmf files will not play on multiple PCs, audio .nmf files play fine.

There is a supposedly a player for it, so you should be able to record its output (assuming it doesn't offer an export function). You'll want a Windows version of -os-x-virtual-audio-driver, I guess, or of Soundflower. that would allow you to capture the decoded waveform, and then capture that is a PCM file of such, and then compress it as per your preference. Its recorded voice, so your loss budget is (probably) going to be fine with the lossiness.

It's possible to do that, but it's very difficult. You have to usea nicelog recorder which should, if possible, be at the same version like the version of the recorded tapes. Without that it's nearly impossible.

With the new 0.115 media player capabilities (but not yet upgraded) I was just wondering will mini media player support the media browser, etc.? Will that work out of the box, or does it need development?

Hey guys, I am back and I think that I now have a better grip on my earlier ask. I am trying to create a custom media player card ( should work for both audio and video) that display information based on the input_select card.

I am trying to create something similar and would be grateful if someone who has done this would share the Lovelace config. The author says he is using a mini-media-player , but I am not seeing how that is possible. @kalkih are you able to chime in on this? Having the ability to do exactly what the author mentions in his post is my goal.

Users can send NICE compressed recordings as attachments just by clicking on the "Send" button in the Business Analyzer screen. The file will be automatically embedded in the email message, together with a hyperlink to the NICE web site, where the NICE Media Player can be downloaded to play back the recording on any multimedia PC.

I also finally gave in and replaced the 10 year old Philips portable 14" TV as the display and got a really nice LG 22" IPS, LED 1080p display from Amazon for 110 last week too. The picture quality with this combo is amazing.

If you want WMP & iTunes to live in harmony then disable WMP's options for updating or reorganising media, then tell it that its Rip Folder is the same as your iTunes Media\Music folder. Move anything you want to add into iTunes either into the Automatically add to iTunes folder, assuming you are happy letting iTunes organise things, otherwise place them where you want, but inside the iTunes Media folder. If you are letting iTunes Keep the iTunes Media folder organised then WMP will work out when iTunes has moved something, but the reverse is not the case. WMP will also detect and add compatible (non-AAC) files that have been ripped or downloaded using iTunes, unless you tell it not to of course. If you want to automatically add compatible (non-WMA) files created by WMP into iTunes use iTunes Folder Watch or manually re-add the iTunes Media folder . You should probably settle on .mp3 as your default media format so that the same audio files can be used in either player without unnecessary duplication of files. Choose a bitrate that gives you good enough quality, probably 256k or above. N.b. Most video formats will only work in one of the two media players.

Using Edit > Preferences > Advanced take a note of the location of your iTunes Media folder, here for example I show the default path for a user called Steve. I choose to organise my files manually but generally recommend setting the Keep iTunes Media folder organised option to others as it requires less housekeeping. Having Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library set often encourages unnecessary duplication if you repeatedly import the same content when located outside of the media folder but the choice is yours. If you are going to let iTunes manage the files then you can move or copy your imports into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder (inside the iTunes Media folder) otherwise arrange them to your taste within the iTunes Media folder before manually adding them to the library.

On the Library tab make sure the highlighted check boxes are not ticked. This prevents WMP from automatically updating files and moving them about which can confuse iTunes. With both programs sharing the same media folders you should also take care when deleting tracks from one library that you don't accidentally delete the files if they should be left for the alternate library.

NMF is the recommended format as the files maintain their original quality and file size. On the other hand, if you want to be able to open the files in other players outside ACE Recording, such as with Windows Media Player, you should choose WAV.

If you are on Ubuntu 16.04 using radeon open source driver for your graphics card and having issues with playing mp4 or mkv files with VLC media player then read on. If you are not sure what graphics driver is in use in your system, paste the below line in Terminal.

The issue occurs as soon as you open a media file of type mkv or mp4 with VLC media player. Immediately after opening, it crashes silently. But if you check the /var/log/syslog, you should be able to see segmentation fault messages.

It's good-looking, has a pretty nice performance and didn't give me trouble like some other distros did (Deepin and Kubuntu gaved me so much trouble!), although sadly, some applications i used on Windows don't work on Zorin, which made me keep an Windows 7 install for such cases.

I came from win10, 7 and XP to zorin but never tried a linux distribution before. Changing a few things, stopping some tasks (windows) i will never use but win10 was the most terrible os, so much bloatware (-: Now i will try Zorin or other distributions on my older laptops, hopefully i can use S-Video out to watch something on my old tube TV. I'm also searching for a nice media player like winamp or jetaudio. A Player with a playlist and lots of different codecs, will this work with wine? VLC isnt fine for me but plays everything, i know- but the oldschool skin with the main player, playlist and a videowindow is still working and looking fine. Im using jetaudio for more than 10 years but i think codec problems are coming with a windows player- lets start running and fly into the next problems and how to solve them

Heh, similar story - not a new computer (2019) but an i7 dell with 16gb ram and was rocking along nice and steady on win10. But even after failing a compatibility test, microsuck decided to update and give me a surprise win11 installation anyway. Got stuck in a loop where I couldn't turn on security features because ... not compatible with win11.

You should see a therapist. The point is not being locked into your TV and the device that recorded it (like my Channel Master that died). The point is being able to play the shows on your Laptop with a standard media player program, for example.

Apparently Channel Masters stores the data for playback on on that specific DVR, puts a lock on the files. I researched it. Apparently a Linux machine running a program to strip the lock and convert it to a format most media players will handle is out there. I wonder of VLC would work.
