On the occasion of the new recording of Stockhausen's epochal piano work Mantra, Gtz Schumacher talks in an interview about the intensive relationship that has connected the GrauSchumacher Piano Duo with the work since its beginnings.

To conclude his first season as Principal Conductor of the Basel Sinfonietta, Titus Engel will travel with the orchestra to the Klang avant-garde music festival in Copenhagen on 7 June. The programme, which is also performed two days later in Basel, will feature music by five female composers, including Isabel Mundry's Endless Sediments. 

On 6, 7 and 8 June, Jonathan Stockhammer will conduct a mini-festival with the Dresden Philharmonic's artist-in-residence Patricia Kopatchinskaya as part of the Dresden Music Festival - the great violin works of classical modernism will be performed on three concert evenings.

Mahan Esfahani continues his collaboration with the orchestra La Scintilla and its conductor Riccardo Minasi and performs works by Bach at Zurich Opera House on 3 June. For this programme, he will be playing the organ instead of the harpsichord.

Ilya Gringolts premiered Chaya Czernowin's new violin concerto together with the Munich Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Bas Wiegers in April. The Swiss premiere with the Kollegium Winterthur under Matthias Pintscher will follow on 29 May.

From 25 May to 2 June, Maximilian Hornung will go on tour with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra under Lorenzo Viotti and perform Johannes Brahms' Double Concerto together with violinist Lisa Batiashvili.

On 3 June, Mariam Batsashvili will once again be a guest at the Klavier Festival Ruhr. In a very personal interview with festival director Katrin Zagrosek in the run-up to the festival, she spoke about what composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Liszt mean to her.

The JACK Quartet will be touring Europe in May and June with premieres and first performances in various concert programmes at London's Wigmore Hall, Berlin's Pierre Boulez Saal, the Bergen International Festival and the Dublin International Chamber Music Festival.

"Outstanding": In May, Sarah Wegener performed Sieglinde in Wagner's Walkre at the Elbphilharmonie and the Kulturpalast Dresden to rave reviews. The production, which has already been successfully performed in Prague, Cologne and Amsterdam under the direction of Kent Nagano, will be shown for the last time in Lucerne in August.

Role debut as Sieglinde: Sarah Wegener will perform Wagner's Walkre under the baton of Kent Nagano in six major European concert halls from March 2024. In the run-up, she talks about her path to the new role and other vocal milestones of recent years.
