Yes, my trip has begun! I left Hong Kong yesterday morning and have been in Kyushu ever since. I was in Fukuoka last night and just got into Nagasaki tonight. I am so excited to explore the city over the next couple of days. I wish I had time to sightsee and write on my blog while everything is fresh in my mind. If only there were were more hours in a day!

I loved walking down the Avenue of Stars. I actually liked it better than going up to the Peak which is probably the big thing to do in Hong Kong. The views of Victoria Harbor were beyond gorgeous and I got such a kick out of comparing my hand prints to the big Hong Kong stars. Yes, you must go when you visit HK!

Born in Kingston, Thomas first recorded as a deejay at Tuff Gong studios in 1982, initially working under the name Junior Kong, named after his father.[1] His debut single was "Pink Eye". He worked with GT and then his own Love Bunch sound system and then recorded for King Tubby's Firehouse label, now singing in a similar style to Tenor Saw.[1] The early King Kong recordings for Tubby were over early digital rhythms, and included songs such as "AIDS" and "Babylon", and established him as a popular artist.[1] His first album release was split with another of Tubby's singers, Anthony Red Rose, with Two Big Bull Inna One Pen issued on Firehouse.[1] During 1986 and 1987, Kong recorded for several of Jamaica's top producers, including Prince Jammy, with whom he enjoyed his biggest hits with "Trouble Again" (the title track from his Jammy-produced debut album proper) and "Legal We Legal",[2] Black Scorpio, Harry J, Errol Thompson, Ossie Hibbert, Bunny Lee, and Prince Jazzbo.[1] While many of his songs were typical in content of the era, several of his songs had political and cultural themes.[3] He released several albums during this period before relocating first to New York, and then to Canada in the late 1980s, where he released material occasionally on his Conscious Music label.[1] The death of Tenor Saw in 1988 prompted King Kong to release "He Was a Friend" as a tribute, and in 1989 he relocated to England and recorded with Mafia & Fluxy and Gussie P in the early 1990s. He began recording more regularly again in the 2000s.

LOUISA LIM: I went to school at an English-language school. We never learned any history of Hong Kong or of China. You know, we learned about the British prime ministers and the kings and queens. We did Victorian musicals and wore crinolines and, you know, did "Oliver Twist" and things like that. We could have been in the U.K. But, you know, the world outside, of course, was a Chinese world.

So, you know, lounge singers and rap groups sang songs to him. Poets wrote poems to him. He starred in TV adverts. He played cameos in films. And he became Hong Kong's most valuable artist. He even represented Hong Kong at the Venice Biennale. I was fascinated by him because the themes that he was thinking about, these ideas of dispossession and territory and sovereignty and loss, they're themes that really have been at the heart of Hong Kong's struggles and particularly the movement of 2019, and yet he was thinking about them so long before.

We are trying to put that sort of difference in our assets and in the standalones because there are many hands working. Of course, we try to follow a style. We have a sort of style to apply in all our projects. But, project to project, you can find very different expression colors and ways to explain data.

We did also pay for parking at King Kong Hill viewpoint and at the foot of Mount Bromo before we summitted. Both of those fees were about $1. Total fees and parking tickets for the day were less than $20 USD. Not bad for the most popular attraction in the region!

One of the highlights of visiting Mount Bromo is witnessing the breathtaking sunrise from vantage points such as Mount Penanjakan. The dry season offers a higher chance of clear mornings, enhancing the experience and providing an unobstructed view of the sunrise illuminating the surrounding landscapes.

We were insistent on being at the top with time to spare because we were making a film and shooting photos. So we saw that it was about a 2-hour drive from Probollingo to Bromo. Therefore we decided to leave at 2 am. This gave us time for any incidents or wrong turns and would give us about an hour to spare at the top.

A) KING KONG HILL: Go to King Kong Hill, which is more or less the highest viewpoint on Penanjakan Hill looking down at Mount Bromo for sunrise. It is insanely crowded and you might get poked in the eye with a selfie stick. I would avoid this option although I am sure the view is great. We originally planned to go to King Kong Hill and just find our own spot somehow but on the way we stopped as we thought we had made it and it turned out we were one peak too soon, which ended up being perfect.

3. King Kong Hill now shows up in Google Maps, so if you're walking to a sunrise viewing point, just pop it in Google Maps to ensure you're walking the right way from town. I was confused at first because Google Maps had me walking a different way than the long line of Jeeps, but I ended up seeing a bunch of others walking in the same direction and we all arrived there before the Jeep tours (left town around 3 AM).

Since we had time, we did it in 2 days. We booked our stay in Cemoro lawang. First night woke up and started trekking at 3 a.m. We are not so fit, just OK, I guess and made it to the summit of Penjankan (a bit by accident) in 2 hours 15 mins. We were with 20 other people or so. If I had another chance, I would go to the view point one above King Kong. It seemed calmer there.

Second night, we started trekking in 3:30. Walked through the thick fog (it was very nice and exciting) in sea of sand. Afterwards, climbed the stairs and watched the sunset from Bromo itself. It is definitely doable if you have a gps, Google maps, maps.me or something (remember if is dark and foggy). The best thing is there were only 4 or 5 people in the whole crater. You could listen to the pure rumbling of Bromo. Anyway, when we were done, the crowds started to pour in and walked back through the sea of sand.

Mount Bromo Tourism is a stunning destination with the mesmerizing charm of Sunrise Bromo. Every morning, the sun rises behind the mountains, creating an extraordinary view. The magical atmosphere and the changing colors of the sky offer an unforgettable experience. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this natural wonder at Mount Bromo Tourism. Witness its beauty and immerse yourself in the breathtaking tranquility as the sun rises in the Bromo sky.

(Oct 9): Hong Kong stayed largely closed on Monday morning, with stock market trading halted and schools suspended, as gale force winds and torrential rain from departing Typhoon Koinu continued to affect the finance hub.

Koinu was centred about 140km west-southwest of the city at 10am and was forecast to move west at about 10km per hour across the coast of Guangdong province. It was the second typhoon to hit Hong Kong since the start of September, while the remnants of a third a month ago brought record-breaking rain that flooded parts of the finance hub and triggered landslides.

Another great recipe! My husband usually does all the cooking as he used to be a chef, so I asked him if he could recreate the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style like I have from the Chinese. Honestly, it was so bad I could not eat it (he ate all his tho!)

I found this recipe and it is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to do and very yummy.

Perfectly delicious and saves a fortune on buying a takeaway!

I also love that I can follow these recipes and am building up my confidence in the kitchen again with great results.

Thank you, please keep them coming

This Thai Morning Glory stir fry or Thai Pad Pak Boong Fai Daeng recipe is made with crunchy morning glory and hot, savoury, sweet, umami sauce. Morning glory itself tastes very tempting and it gets irresistible when garlic and chilies are added.

Even vegetable haters will love this savoury Thai morning glory vegetable stir fry. In this recipe, I cooked with a traditional wok to get the wok hei flavour, just like we have had from restaurants. All you need is 15 minutes to make this popular Thai-style dish with authentic flavors at home.

Very useful! It got all information I need about my favorite morning glory dish I had in Thailand. It tasted a bit spicy, smoky and fragrant. I miss it often and now I found your recipe. I'm trying it right after I find morning glory in my place. Thanks dear xx ff782bc1db
