Whether searching for a mirrorless camera, cinema camera, instant camera, or film camera, Moment has camera models designed for photographers and filmmakers of all skill levels from top-rated brands like Sony, Fujifilm, Leica, Polaroid and Blackmagic, and more.

tag_hash_106First and foremost, it's important that your phone is steady and mounted to a tripod to minimize camera shake, which will be otherwise visible in your slow shutter shots. We also recommend using a bluetooth remote so that you don't accidentally cause camera shake when you tap the capture button. A couple of alternatives to a bluetooth remote are to use the Pro Camera app on your Apple Watch as a remote shutter, or enable Timed Shot mode in the Pro Camera app so that the shutter fires 3 or 10 seconds after you hit the capture button.

I just purchased the Moment camera pro app for my iPhone. It's really great. Has awesome control, I can shoot raw if I want (no option for that stock), It automatically has proper scaling for lenses you attach to your iPhone for video work and more. It also has control for my DJI Osmo 3 as well.

The LowePro PhotoSport Outdoor is a camera pack for photographers who also need a well-designed daypack for hiking and other outdoor use. If that sounds like you, the PhotoSport Outdoor may be a great choice, but as with any hybrid product, there are a few tradeoffs.

If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. Read on to find out which portable enthusiast compacts are our favorites.

What's the best camera for travel? Good travel cameras should be small, versatile, and offer good image quality. In this buying guide we've rounded-up several great cameras for travel and recommended the best.

Above $2500 cameras tend to become increasingly specialized, making it difficult to select a 'best' option. We case our eye over the options costing more than $2500 but less than $4000, to find the best all-rounder.

Galen frantically dug through his gear and pulled out a body, lens, and tripod, walked a short distance from the vehicle and started shooting...nothing but the sunset. Now, to put this into perspective, we were in a rather non-descript area a long way from any of the small villages, we were on an ugly dirt road lined with trees that had seen better days, and there wasn't an animal in sight. The locale was so awful photo-safari-wise, that out of 14 photographers, Galen and I were the only ones who pulled out our equipment and got out of the vehicles looking for a shot, despite the brilliant ball of orange in front of us. Just as I got my camera framed on the sun setting exactly between two trees down the road, along came a jeep, coming right out of the sun and throwing up dust to make a dramatic silouette that lasted all of about three seconds. I got off a shot, then ran into the field and found a termite mound to frame against the setting sun. Another decent shot.

The workshop students weren't quite sure if this was going to get better, but having been here a number of times before, I knew that the sun had a pretty good chance of getting underneath all of the clouds on the other side of the volcano and producing a light show. We were all tired, but I got out my camera and encouraged them to do the same. Within a few minutes the sky changed dramatically:

Like I said, not much light in the caldera, and given the properties of digital cameras of the time, it was very difficult to keep any detail in the dark area. So I decided it was time to experiment. One of the things I advocate students do is to break the basic rules of composition. So I tried breaking one (Horizons must be Horizontal):

So, here are two examples of those bent lines thing I've been talking about. Note that curved lines are not an error of the Moment lens. You'll get that effect with each sand every fisheye lens you would use - independently of the camera.

But luckily, with iPhone and SKRWT app (reviewed here), you can fix that effect in less than 10 seconds right from your camera roll. Here are the two shots above after I ran them through SKRWT (and cropped to a square format).

Now drag the slider until the bent lines are perfectly straight. If necessary, switch to the vertical distortion fix and make your shot upright. Once you're satisfied, press the checkmark. If you've launched SKRWT from the camera roll you need to press the checkmark once more to indicate that you're finished editing. If you launched SKRWT directly, don't forget to save your photo to the camera roll.

For photographers, Apple's native camera app for iOS leaves something to be desired. Filters and portrait mode are fun, but it's hard to wrestle control over how the camera handles things like exposure and focus.

That's where the Moment app is supposed to come in. It promises DSLR-like control over the iPhone's camera, allowing you to control things like focus, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance, without the phone making those decisions for you. It also requires a one-time purchase of $2.99 to use the full-featured app.

You can choose to save your images as the standard .jpg, as Apple's HEIF high-efficiency file for saving space, a TIFF file, or a RAW image. RAW images are generally preferred by photographers, because although they take up more space, they contain more digital information that allows for more precise editing in the post-processing stage. Apple's standard camera doesn't give this option, which means you're generally pretty limited when it comes to what you're able to edit in the image.

The iPhone's camera has time-lapse video, slow-motion video, normal video, normal photo, square photo, panoramic photo, and portrait mode. In comparison, the Moment app only has normal photo and normal video mode.

Although Moment allows for more power overall when it comes to editing, not everyone wants to spend that much time editing their photos. Apple's camera allows you to put a filter on the shot while you're shooting it, and you can go back and change that filter after you've taken the picture.

So if you want more control over your shots, and the ability to edit in RAW, Moment will probably get the job done for you. But if you just want a solid camera app that allows you to use portrait mode and doesn't require a lot of user input, Apple's native camera app will do just fine. Moment is designed for people who like having the ability to control the minute details of their shots, but that's definitely not everyone.

This sling is holding up really well. No scuffs or dangling threads, it still looks brand new. Although it may not have as many features as some of the more complex camera slings, it more than makes up for it with its carry system. The structure of the back panel and design of the shoulder strap keeps it in place on your back and very comfortable to carry for long periods of time.

When I carry the 58mm lens with me, I get three focal-length options on my iPhone 11: 13mm (using the 0.5x camera), 26mm (using the 1x camera without the Moment lens), and 52mm (using the 1x camera with the 58mm lens). Those are all excellent focal-lengths to have available. While I prefer to use my Fujifilm cameras over my cellphone, as Chase Jarvis coined, the best camera is the one you have with you, which is sometimes my cellphone. When I do use my cellphone for photography, I appreciate having the Moment Tele 58mm lens, because it affords me additional flexibility.

For comparison, here's another shot below with the iPhone 6s Plus using the only camera it has. The left shot is without the Moment lens, and the right is with it. Notice how much more vignetting the lens produces on the default camera compared to the iPhone 7 Plus shot above.

Shot on an iPhone 6s Plus. The edges are noticeably soft and the strong contrast transitions suffer from purple fringing. The vignetting is due to the iPhone 6s Plus camera; it wouldn't be this strong with the iPhone 7 Plus on the dual camera.

It seems like the phone features of smartphones are less and less important every day. Multimedia, especially photography and videography have taken over. But I don't think it's for the worst. Point and shoots were great, but then being able to combine your video game console, with a good camera, and a phone is much better, isn't it?

I have the Moment Wide and the Tele reviewed here and love them both. I have the Plus phone, so I put the wide on the shorter camera and the tele on the longer camera and have an optical range of ~16mm-115mm (equiv.). Every specimen is different and as it happens my copy is pretty clear and bright even at the edges. I'm also very impressed with the lack of distortion on both.

The creative on the run, the creative who wants to run slick and not stick out. The person who wants a well built sling that can take a beating and come back for more. A sling that is comfortable, easy to access, and not too bulky. I was able to fit a mirrorless camera with a lens, a full frame DSLR and my DJI Osmo Pocket in a case or a Mavic Pro Drone fly more combo with a small mirrorless camera in the main compartment. All of which give me the ability to create some rad content while not carrying a big pack. This sling could also work as a decent cycling commuting piece as long as you do not need to carry a laptop.

If you are looking for a solid camera sling, look no further. The team over at Moment has created a well thought out and designed bag. From the zippers to the materials and the internal layout, this is a very useful bag for creatives.

The VanTop Moment 4K action camera is, as it sounds, a 4k action camera that has a form factor much like other action cameras, at a much more affordable price. It features a Sony sensor, which is highly regarded when it comes to cameras.

Two 1050mAh batteries provide for up to 70 minutes of video recording in 4K (per battery). The camera comes with a 32GB micro-sd card, and the specs say it supports cards up to 64GB (although the manual says 128GB). 17dc91bb1f
