I tried changing the ringtone on my dad's phone in the DIGITS app. I want him to have separate ringtones for his personal and business lines. I tried changing the ringtones for both lines, but the phone still rang with the ringtone set in the phone's settings app.

My Google-fu only shows queries on how to change the ringtone on mobile (cell), and I can't find any settings under Audio, Video, Phone, etc. There also doesn't seem to be anything in the admin dashboard, either.

When using "Eset Mobile Security", at least for version 6.1.13.0-0 (currently the latest) on Android 11, on Samsung S20 - if the feature of "Call Filter" is enabled - incoming calls will make no sound, as if the phone was set to "Silent", even if if all the other phone settings are set to make you hear a sound (a valid ringtone sound file was selected, the sound volume is high enough, "do not disturb" is disabled and so on).

Now if you want all SmartThings notifications to play this file, select it as the application notification. I just wanted the SMS messages from SmartThings that are sent from alarm conditions to trigger the file. I have a F7XPSS and would like to change out the sound of the ringtone for find my phone feature. I can't seem to find any native solutions and I had a less than helpful experience with support unfortunately. Does anyone on the forum's know how to plug my watch into the computer and change out the sound byte manually? It would be ideal to change the feature's alarm like on my smartphone, but even just changing it to literally anything else is preferrable as it's current state is stressful.

If someone calls me when I'm on the phone, they get a ringtone for a couple of seconds, followed by a message "sorry, this number is temporarily unavailable" and there are no beeps on the receiving line as it should to indicate someone is waiting.

Secondly, and much weirder is the fact that when anyone calls me (I've tested this by ringing from a different landline & my mobile) is that the ringtone you get is not the traditional UK ring sound "ring ring ring ring ring ring" but more an American ringtone with one long sound, followed by a 4 second pause & then the long sound etc...

Are you hearing the 'American' ringtone in your home (coming from your phone when it is ringing) when a call comes in. Or do you mean that you hear the American ringtone through the earpiece on the handset you are using to call in to your home phone number? Or both those things?

The ring / engaged tones for a UK to UK call are normally generated by the callers end of the telephone system ( in my case Cisco VOIP kit configured to sound like BT's call progress tones ).

Does that American ringtone occur on just one phone, or does it persist from mobiles as well as other land lines ?

I was told by a reddit user that the ringtone itself is a phone setting, but it's not a sound I've heard my phone make any other time. Is it some sort of emergency alarm? My system default alarm sound is Bright Morning, so it's not that.

I've gotten to a point where the phone knows when it's silent or in vibrate mode, but it doesn't play the ringtone, it just either vibrates or doesn't make a noise. How do I make it so it plays the ringtone no matter what, but keeps the audio state the way it was?

I have the same issue, exactly and no matter which of the above steps I try, I cannot change the ringtone on my brand new Chime. It is just so amazing. I wonder where I else I could post to get some attention to this, like Wirecutter. Or iFixit or Consumer Reports. Customers have gone for over a year without a fix? Really?

In addition to checking Chime connection, as suggested above, and moving your Chime closer to the router, please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device. If possible, try attempting this change on another mobile device to see if it works.

If your Chime tone is not saving as intended, this is often a sign of communication interference. As a test, moving your Chime closer to your router and changing the tone there will factor out interferences with wifi. In addition, please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device when accessing the Ring app and if possible, try attempting this change on another mobile device to see if it works.

Ever since a very recent update, my Galaxy Buds ring is the generic ring, like a telephone. Before the update, the ringtone (as in the custom song/ringtone) would come through the Earbuds, Galaxy Buds. does anyone know why this is happening, and how to fix this.

So sorry for the delayed response. I feel like I misstated my goal. So you heave Buds in ear, paired and connected to the phone. Someone calls you. Currently, the rigtone goes through both the buds and the phone itself. The goal was to make it where the rington goes to the earbuds only and the phone itself doesn't make a sounds, so as not to disturb others if ringtone is loud (idk, it's for my dad and he can't hear all that well, so his ringer is on high).

Figured out solution: Mute phone. Ringtone will still go through buds.

Currently when I get a call, I hear the ringtone/text-tone/email-tone/whatever through both the ear buds and the phone speakers simultaneously. I'm not referring to any sort of text to speech, just the song/chimes. Id like to make it where it does not come out of the phone speakers, but just the Galaxy Buds. I'm not trying to dismiss your comment. I appreciate your time and input. I just want to make sure my goal is clear.

Research on the effects of Mobile phone radio frequency emissions on biological systems has been focused on noise and vibrations as auditory stressors. This study investigated the potential effects of exposure to mobile phone electromagnetic field radiation, ringtone and vibration on anxiety-like behaviour and oxidative stress biomarkers in albino wistar rats. Twenty five male wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups of 5 animals each: group I: exposed to mobile phone in switched off mode (control), group II: exposed to mobile phone in silent mode, group III: exposed to mobile phone in vibration mode, group IV: exposed to mobile phone in ringtone mode, group V: exposed to mobile phone in vibration and ringtone mode. The animals in group II to V were exposed to 10 min call (30 missed calls for 20 s each) per day for 4 weeks. Neurobehavioural studies for assessing anxiety were carried out 24 h after the last exposure and the animals were sacrificed. Brain samples were collected for biochemical evaluation immediately. Results obtained showed a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in open arm duration in all the experimental groups when compared to the control. A significant decrease (P < 0.05) was also observed in catalase activity in group IV and V when compared to the control. In conclusion, the results of the present study indicates that 4 weeks exposure to electromagnetic radiation, vibration, ringtone or both produced a significant effect on anxiety-like behavior and oxidative stress in young wistar rats.

We've had two of the BT Premium Cordless Home Phones for a while now working without issue, but have returned from holiday and now when receiving calls the ringtone only does the first full ring and then the subsequent rings are just blip noises if that makes sense. 2351a5e196
