During the 1977 Indian general election campaign, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is appraised of the situation by RAW Chief R. N. Kao, and she directs him to find the location of the nuclear facility. Kao assigns the mission to Aman. Aman's handler, Sharma, informs him of his new mission named "Mission Majnu". Along the way, Aman meets two other RAW agents - Aslam Usmaniya and Raman Singh (under the pseudonym Maulvi Saab), who are stationed in Pakistan. Aman manages to gather information that Pakistan is indeed making a nuclear weapon.

Amandeep Singh, played by Sidharth Malhotra, is a RAW agent who is on a mission to obtain information on Pakistan's nuclear program. He is driven by the need to restore his family's reputation, as his father was accused of being a traitor for selling Indian intelligence reports to Pakistan.

In the ending, despite Prime Minister Morarji Desai's order to abort the mission, Amandeep, along with other agents, decides to proceed with it unofficially. He successfully gathers hair samples from military officials at a barber shop in the area and smuggles them out in a woman's luggage. The results reveal the presence of uranium, allowing India to thwart Israel's imminent attack on Quetta, which was believed to be the location of the base. Amandeep sacrifices his life to ensure that his wife, Nasreen, can board the flight to Dubai.
