After 2,000 years of countless wars and strife, the demon king Anos Voldigoad made a deal with the human hero, Kanon, to sacrifice his own life to ensure peace could flourish. Reincarnating 2,000 years later, Anos finds that royal demons now harshly rule over lower class hybrid demons in a society that values Anos's pureblood descendants over the demons who interbred with other species, such as humans and spirits. Finding that magic as a whole has begun to decline and his descendants weaker as a result of the peace he created, Anos, now technically a hybrid himself, decides to reclaim his former title. So noticed something weird with a couple of the dubs for the new seasons other animes like Misfit and curious if anyone knows what is going on. Now I know it normally after 2 episodes they start releasing the dubs, english normally first. but I noticed with misfit that the french dub came out and now has 2 episodes but no sign of the english dub. There also other anime with new seasons that was announced to be getting dubbed but the anime is well into 5 episodes and no dubs at all. Anyone know what is going on?

Basically, the protagonist, Arnos Voldigoad, was a legendary demon lord in the past. And one that people knew would be reincarnated approximately 2000 years after his death, which explains the existence of a demon lord academy, for candidates to attend.

The hero Kanon was reborn as "Ray Gransdori," a demon with an affinity for swords (as opposed to Shin, Anos' old friend). At last, the mystery of Avos Dilhevia and the world's revisionist history is coming to light. This was Kanon's plan all along: to be reborn in a demon body and claim the title of Avos Dilhevia, the demon king of tyranny. When he died 2,000 years ago, he used the mighty heroic sword Evansmana to attack fate itself and displaced Anos as the true demon king. With Anos out of the way, Kanon prepared to be reborn as an imposter, a public enemy for the heroes of the human world to fight and takedown. After all, Jerga's immortal hatred of all demons was strong in the Asc spell and warped the minds of all humans. Only by taking down "the enemy" could that hate be satisfied at last.

The problem: Anos simply doesn't want Kanon to give his life while posing as Avos. Despite Anos and Kanon being on opposite sides of a bitter feud, Anos refuses to see Kanon give himself up like this, so he and Kanon do battle to see who can get his way. Anos breaks Kanon's sources one by one until he seizes and shatters the last one, but by the time the human and demon armies are able to see what's happening, Kanon has assumed his old form and Anos is the demon king once again. Everyone witnesses Kanon slaying the horrible demon king of tyranny, and Anos is killed, his body dissolving into dust. It looks like a victory, but there is a certain loose end.

Kanon hoped that by slaying the demon king, peace would return to the land and his fellow humans would be satisfied. He underestimated the zealous hatred of his old subordinate Jerga, who is not yet ready to lay down his arms. His extreme hate for demons drives him to declare that all demons must die. Only then will justice be done, Jerga claims, and he transforms into a holy magic source and swells to enormous size. Kanon feels differently; he only wants peace and cooperation between the realms, even if it means sparing most demons. This makes Kanon a true hero, instead of the genocide-minded Jerga. However, Kanon can't stop Jerga alone, and worse yet, Jerga has an army of Zeshia clones who are ready to self-detonate.

That is when Anos resurrects himself as the demon king, despite losing his source, and he takes up arms with Kanon to face Jerga together. On top of that, Misha and Sasha have fused into a single being, and the united forces prevent the Zeshia explosion and buy time. Jerga forces the humans to remotely lend him strength through hope, and Anos responds with the Unitarian club's members and their song. In the final clash of will vs. will, Jerga is taken down once and for all.

While Misa first appears to be another inconsequential Magic Girl Mob character, when Lay starts to take an interest, she seems to step into the more elite (yet still underrated) role of a manic pixie dream girl. However, even with this upgraded status, viewers are still scraping at the bottom of the barrel encapsulating Misa's full potential. As a young girl, the poor spirit-demon hybrid was disowned by her Royalist father while her mother is off on her own mission. However, they highly underestimated the soul within their daughter, which has a lineage linking back to the Spirit King Shin Reglia and the Great Spirit Reno.

And after being worn out of this ongoing battle, the demon king, Anos Voldigoad, makes a deal with the human hero Kanon, in which the former will sacrifice his life and bring the war to an end. Now in the present, Anos Voldigoad reincarnates and witnesses the world where the pure-blooded demons rule over the lower breeds, and the world doesn't seems how he wished it to be. Anos decides to reclaim his lost title and fix what's wrong. But before that, he must graduate from the Demon King Academy.
