Samsung MirrorLink is an app for connecting your Android smartphone screen to your car's display. To do so, all you have to do is connect your smartphone to the car's screen using the USB port. After that, you can activate the 'mirrorlink' option from the app's interface.

The next question would be, can you emulate a Mirrorlink 1.0 phone with the "Mirrorlink Common API"? I only found s.th. about a Fake Common API, that is not making the phone to be a mirror link server (and only works on phones without mirrorlink):

3.) My dream is to implement a Raspberry Pi Project - i want raspberry to provide a mirrorlink 1.0 server and connect to the head Unit. But i did not find any specifications of the Mirrorlink protocol on the web. On the Website of the car connectivity consortium there is a "Forum" area, but if you want to join it, you have to Register with a Company email adress of one of the implementing manufactures (i.e. Toyota, Volkswagen, Samsung....) and i am not working for those companies.

After 60 sec of detection . my phone screen show that my phone is used by mirrorlink . with a nice icon on it , but on the pioneer screen nothing appears when I press APP icon in home screen . just the background . nothing else

Pre Facelift models were Mirrorlink 1.0 and it only came when you didn't have Navigation of any sort. With the Facelift models everything with Standard Nav has mirrorlink and it is now version 1.1 This is important because Mirrorlink 1.1 locks your phone out when in use.

Most newer vehicles are coming from the factory with mirrorlink, support for mirrorlink would alow me to use waze with my factory touch screen. Much like the pioneer support. Having this as I'm sure for others would allow us to use waze all the time!

I requested this feature, because my 2019 Toyota supports Android car but not for sharing the onboard display. This can only be done with mirrorlink. So navigation only on the mobiles display. Useless

I'm not a programmer and i don't know how exactly do it.. But Mirrorlink certifications and Api's are totally FREE like CCC certification, i've readed guides about it, and i don't think il could be so complicated for you to add mirrorlink support in your product!

I'm leaning towards the sony though, graphics are amazing, the Pioneer is cool but boring...looks like SONY may have added iphone compatibility / Mirrorlink, still reading up on it but i love love the sony visuals...hoping the mirrorlink function has been perfected.

Interesting that you say mirrorlink is old technology. I would like to use Sygic Car Navigation as it has off line maps but has live traffic and cameras so uses far less data than google. It requires mirrorlink as it cannot work through Android Auto as AA have not approved it (Apple Play have though so maybe in time AA will too). The one time that I got Sygic to load in mirrorlink was after a doing a phone factory reset and using it before it had a chance to automatically upgrade its system mirrorlink app to version 1.1.2.9.0 from a lower version (1.0 I think). That suggests that the mirrorlink software version installed in the latest Octavia is 1.0 which is surely out of date?

I have confirmed by careful troubleshooting that although Skoda list the LG G5 as Mirrorlink compatible (In my case I have the H850 model) the phone actually only works with the initial factory settings which have MIRRORLINK V1.0 in the phone system apps. I have proved this by successfully connecting using Mirrorlink on my new car three times by doing a factory reset on the G5, quickly installing mirrorlink apps, then turning off Internet and Wifi data so that the system files (including the system mirrorlink app) don't update. This was effective even after receiving the latest 2018 over the air infotainment software updates and whilst using Infotainment online from a wifi hotspot (which is free for a year with a new car). The App button on the Admunsen unit brings up 3 options:- Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Mirrorlink.

The problem comes when the phone routinely updates its system app (listed on the system app screen) from MIRRORLINK 1.0 to MIRRORLINK V1.1 ( 1.1.2.9.0 in my case) after which mirrorlink no longer works - you just get the app logos on the Admunsen screen and although they appear to load there is no screen mirroring.

I recently bought a new Yaris 1.5 auto with Touch and Go fitted with an understanding that if I had the right smartphone (at present an LG G3S with android 5.0.2), I could use it with either mirrorlink via the usb port or perhaps android auto displaying supported apps on the main car multimedia screen.

I have spent ages talking to Toyota multimedia support - who tell me I should be able to use mirrorlink via my car's multimedia display, so long as phone supports it, also suggesting I look at the mirrorlink website for compatible phones - which I have done and only the LG G4 phone is listed there.

Being reasonably tech savvy OAP can anyone assist me with my connection problem? From what I have come across on forums online when searching for connecting my phone to my yaris' system, Toyota seem to be way behind with mirrorlink and android auto support - unless anyone on this forum can advise me otherwise.

According to my contact with Toyota multimedia support last week my 2017 Yaris should support Mirrorlink - they say so long as I use a compatible smartphone, so your first response about the 2017 Yaris not supporting mirrorlink confuses me?

You had me going there. I still use Nokia's Symbian swansong, the 700 (with amoled screen, etc.) so thought I could use mirrorlink. It didn't work, but then I only have the first version of Touch and Go.

Hi everyone. I dug into this subject about a year ago. Did have an S3 and also an S4 galaxy to play with. Managed to get the mirrorlink work on both with custom rom etc. The issue is it is very slow laggy if you like. Google map showing approaching a roundabout when you are alredy left it behind. The Touch2 system is a very very outdated buggy thing unfortunatelly. Toyota here in ireland telling you only one thing. We forwarded your enquiry to our multimedia department bla bla bla. Equals with zero solution. They arent able to give you a proper answer even to a simple question of what file formats are supported to play from a flash drive. ff782bc1db
