I did however have a so called "AirServer" lying around which is basically an intel nuc which supports Miracast, Airplay and Chromecast. I've tested this with the 5G network on, and for the last few months it kept running smoothly and I was able to use the Windows 10 miracast function every time.

In the Air Marshall, add an entry for Matches Wildcard and put the value of 'DIRECT-*' (without quotes). This solved my problem with miracast. If you look in the WLAN-autoconfig logs, the miracast tries to connect with a SSID that begins with DIRECT-. I hope this helps someone out because it caused me a bunch of headaches.

We recently upgraded our Aruba WiFi from controller-based to Central; APs were in the 200 series and now in the 500 series (e.g., 515). We are in a public school and have projectors in each classroom with Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters v2 (miracast dongles), the teachers connect wirelessly from their Windows 10 laptops.

make sure you keep wifi turned on for both machines, Miracast over infrastructure still uses a direct p2p wifi connection for initial discovery, but then uses your existing infrastructure. can check it is using your wired network in task manager. open a video on the miracast display and you will see high usage for your Ethernet adaptor if MOI is working.

My PC is hardwired and does not natively have wifi so I had the same issue as OP. Once I plugged in the adapter and downloaded the drivers, I was able to easily project to and from this PC. I DID NOT have to connect to wifi to use the miracast feature. I was able to stay hardwired the entire time I was using miracast features. This leads me to conclude that the T2U Nano does support miracast. Hope that helps.

I was able to do a Miraclecast connection to the TV using instructions given at However, that is just that, a connection (the TV acknowledges the connection) and as explained on the same link, you need to stream a flux to get an image to your TV. The thread suggests cvlc, which used, but I did not find which app to use on the TV to read that stream. Using a Samsung phone, this works automatically, I am wondering which mechanism is behind this (maybe a specific port)? Anyway, miracast has a big disadvantage: you need to use a Wifi adapter dedicated for this, meaning you lose Internet connection on the PC.

I have a strange issue on some hp elitebook 840 G3 in my business. I don't understand the problem but some elitebook cannot use miracast because appear message "you device doens't support miracast" when i try use connect button in Windows 10. But in the past it worked. I already updating OS, wireless drivers and bios but this not fix the problem. Also, if i run the command "netsh wlan show driver" appear

I got inspired to hunt a little more, and indeed, there isn't much on miracast, however I did find this post from a few months ago that claims android doesn't even have it yet, thus I suspect it's still being worked on.

Recently my company, bought two MELE S3 (ezcast/miracast/dlna) to connect in the proyector and in the Philips Display, this device is connected at our Wifi. ArubaOS (MODEL: 225), Version 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.8

Randomly when trying to connect to a miracast device - (we have miracast dongles connected to projectors and miracast compatible TV's dotted around our offices) it will show on the connect screen as below.

So I'm trying to mirror my PC's screen to my Roku stick, but windows said that my computer doesn't have "Miracast", I've been doing some googling but I can't figure out what Miracast is exactly. I thought screen mirroring just required you to be on the same network to the device you're mirroring to, and itll send screen data to the device, apparently Miracast is required. So is Miracast like something on my motherboard or something? And can I just plug in a wireless adaptor and i'll have miracast? I was planning on getting this adapter but I don't know if it needs to specify it has miracast, or if it's just another name for wifi or something. -fv-axe3000-pci-express/p/0XM-00JK-000A1

It is very likely that it is the wifi hardware, not the wifi driver. I have read about examples where people managed to miracast from laptops to desktops after plugging in an Archer T2U Nano to the desktop (note: only working for miracasting from laptop to the desktop, not the other way around). See more here: _projectionmiracast_only_working_oneway/

I agree, but also disagree at the moment. I use Roku, but currently logging in and out with a complex password makes it difficult to switch between kids account/my account/wife's account. Would be great to let the kids simply miracast to the roku with the App on a spare phone... since Roku is implementing miracast (currently beta). The wife and I can play it directly off the Roku... and then no need for user switching. 17dc91bb1f
