I read the thread and managed to get it working like this:

I installed FolderSync on my Android device, the app lets you sync a Mega folder to a local folder. I then made the Obsidian app open the vault that was on the local folder (which is synced).

The Mega app for Android is not useful in this situation.

There are a few settings on both FolderSync and Mega (for Windows) that need attention, like:

I think you should use the FolderSync (sorry, I cannot add link here) app on Android, it supports Mega too .

So, you use folder sync in joplin, and sync this folder with FolderSync with Mega.

I will try this now, and if I will not forget, then I will write my experiences .

MegaSync is a cloud-based synchronization tool for your Windows computer. The program has a straightforward interface and allows you to customize and optimize your storage and sync files to any device.

These days, most store their important files in the cloud. Working with different platforms can make it difficult to keep track of everything. With MegaSync for Windows you can easily collaborate with your team, sync important files, and manage your data.

When you point MegaSync to the folder you need to be synced, the program will take care of the rest of the work. You can access the preferences through the icon on the taskbar. This service will start-up every time that you turn on your computer.

Working on a video project and need to send only the mp4 clips to the editor? With the selective sync feature, you can filter and choose the content of the merger based on file type, folder, or directory.

I have a server with Ubuntu 14.04 and I need to sync (real-time sync, not push-pull via cronjob) with a mega.nz account. Right now my solution was to install Mate and megasync gui app, but I want remove the desktop environment. Is there way to use Xvfb instead?

First, using dual-boot Kubuntu 23.04 & Linux Mint 21.1. Megasync user for several years. It was working until 2 days ago on LM. Mega support is stumped, and it could actually be something on their end, but since getting a couple of things working that were not (via help on here) gonna give it a shot.

Recently, I've encountered a bunch of problems with the syncing software. One of those problems, was that it seems to have trouble syncing (or scanning?) files that haven't been synced for quite a while. I recently booted a laptop I haven't used for a month or so, and syncing with the regular gui client doesn't really work.

However when I log in with mega-cmd, I can't see this directory being set up for syncing, running mega-sync with no arguments, doesn't return any configured directories, which is odd, because I do have those configured with the gui client.

I'm under the impression, that I'd have to add this folder for syncing using the command line interface with: mega-sync /home/polemon/MEGA / or similar but as I said the documentation doesn't go into detail, and I don't want to damage my synchronization setup.

Recon's SOC recently responded to an attempted ransomware and extortion attack. It had all the markings of a nightmare scenario: malicious access through the VPN, an external server in the same IP block as the Colonial Pipeline incident, Cobalt Strike flying across the environment, and a system running an unauthorized copy of MEGAsync. We attributed the attack to a Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) threat group, likely DarkSide, REvil, or their affiliates.

Through our initial response, we quickly identified and remediated compromised systems and accounts to contain the malicious activity. No files were encrypted. Our attention then turned toward an important question: what, if any, data was stolen? To answer this question, we turned to the MEGAsync logs. In this post, we'll outline our analysis of these logs so you know what to look for if you find yourself on the wrong side of an extortion attempt.

MEGA is a legitimate cloud backup service that has become a favorite for RaaS threat groups. Their MEGAsync software works how you would expect it: you point it at folders and shared drives and it uploads those files up to the cloud. It installs like any other Windows application. Look for it installed in places like C:\Users\\AppData\Local\MEGAsync\MEGAsync.exe and C:\ProgramData\MEGAsync\MEGAsync.exe.

MEGAsync's logs are stored in a "logs" folder in the same location as the MEGAsync.exe binary. With the exception of the most recent active log file, the older logs are compressed using gzip. You can decompress the logs using gunzip (gunzip -S .log *) or search them as-is using zcat -f and zgrep.

However, this only gives us the filenames, not the full folder path and drives that those files came from. We can identify the full file locations by reading the "Async open finished" events. We believe these events are recorded as the files are queued but are not yet uploaded. These entries are important because they show the specific systems, folders, and files that the attacker targeted.

Examining the MEGA logs is a useful for investigating data theft and and extortion incidents. If your organization does not have a legitimate business case for MEGA software, consider blocking it. Configure EDR tools to detect or prevent its use. Set up network controls to block connections to its associated domains, such as mega.co.nz, mega.io, and mega.nz.

It seems like the problem resides in an updated package that megasync is expecting to be an older version.

I found that the version in AUR is the latest so I don't think we will get an updated PKGBUILD soon.

Hi Knurpht. Thanks for your reply. Regarding the attempt to install megasync you can look my response to the reply by I_A. And zotero, I still to find out how to install tar.bz2 format file. By the way my DE is KDE Plasma.

megasync is no longer working or building due to an icu upgrade from 73 to 74 - and it cannot be backed out because of the sheer number of upgraded packages that depend on icu74. Btw, there is no icu73 shim package to build and install - not yet anyway.

tray icon not showing on gnome shell extension(tray icons), only showing window at beginning.I try another extenson, AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem. It shows icon on tray, but something wrong, not working popup menu. not syncing.

Extracting the megasync executable straight from the .deb installation package. It's available at Megasync. At the minute I'm using version: 4.9.5 (extracted from the Debian 11 package) and found it perfectly stable and workable.

2023-07-17 sudo ln libicuuc.so.72.1 libicuuc.so.67 as it erred with megasync: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.67: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (Same issue as @SilverZef mentions)

Megasync is just not doing anything at all. It was working perfectly but stopped a few weeks ago. I have around 8gb of free space spare, I can access the online client but if I put a new file in my supposedly synced mega folder then it just doesn't do anything at all.

I have personally seen this problem on Linux, where the synced directory was on a second drive that was not mounted at startup, or that was mounted after Megasync started. This can be fixed by delaying the startup of the client as said here.

I am adding a new entry to my collection of cloud sync apps:MegaSync. This app backs up and syncs files betweenyour Android device and MEGA cloud storage. MegaSync has been in closed alpha testing for a month.A few days ago I released it to Early Access channel on Google Play. Feedback so far has been pretty positive. If you are using MEGA and Android, definitely give MegaSync a try:

"I have many files, documents, and programs stored on Google Drive but now I want to move to MEGA because MEGA offers 20GB of free cloud storage space which is very attractive. How do I sync MEGA NZ with Google Drive without downloading and uploading?"

Questions about syncing Google Drive and MEGA can be seen on various forums. It's not hard to see that syncing data between them can offer several benefits for users looking to manage their files and data across multiple cloud storage platforms.

As above said, MultCloud is a web-based cloud sync tool that has the ability to create sync relationships between cloud drives from one place. Currently, it supports more than 30 leading clouds and can help you manage multiple cloud drives without switching accounts. Compared with traditional uploading and downloading methods, MultCloud can bring you a brand-new experience.

Hello, I was troubleshooting network speed problems with wireshark and I have notived weird behavior when I copied files from SERVER (SMB) to local PC. Weird because all this operation is made out of Resilio Sync. The directories are not synced and shouldn't be touched by Resilio. However below lines suggests that something in resilio is trying to use it. The path file is \\SERVER\xx\xx\IT\MEGA\ and line suggests that resilio is taking place and looking for .sync in this directory.

Once the MEGA sync deb package is downloaded, cd to the download directory. For example, my MEGA sync is downloaded to the Downloads directory under Home, so I run the following command. The tilde (~) represents home directory.

Hi,

Thanks for the tutorial, I wanted to point out something peculiar behavior since you updated this article. After recent changes when I use mega-cmd to upload content there are no thumbnails in my mega drive which was correctly showing before.

Could you please privide the previous version of the commands? I think you are downloading .deb file from different source before.

Case 1: "I have a DS1817 + 8GB and I often use Download Station to download files from some sources. Now that I have a paid membership to Mega.nz, I would like to know a way to directly download/sync my large folders with my NAS. There are no packages available. The only thing I can find is to use a terminal (I'm not familiar with that program). " 17dc91bb1f
