me and friends are going on a tekkit legends factions server. i was gnna design the base, and its gnna be kind of like a castle design. big outer square with towers on the corners, people can shoot from the top. what things can i make for better defense tho? this is the only idea i have,

1)moats. Presumably your castle is going to be quite big. Build it wide and with steep banks, with everywhere along the shore being 1 block above water level except at the exit points. The water will slow them down on its own, but if they can only exit at specific areas you're now forcing the attacker to be in the water for a longer period of time while traveling along a predictable path.

3)crenellations and embrasures. These are the top-of-the-wall things you see in castles that archers can duck behind for cover (one term is for the covering block, the other is for the space between, I think). Combined with overhangs, they can make life difficult for wall-climbers.

4)drawbridges. Can't exactly storm a castle if you can't even reach the walls, right? The drawbridge also gives you a concentrated area of fire. In minecraft players can just build a quick bridge, of course, so this is of minimal advantage.

5)boiling oil (lava or one of the modded hot liquids in Minecraft's case). Usually a wall defense, or sometimes used in conjunction with murder holes, you basically are pouring liquid hurt on an enemy that can't really go anywhere. While minecraft is generally far more black and white, the thinking here is that you can incapacitate an enemy instead of having to kill them, which not only would provide additional obstacle for the the next wave but would introduce a psychological twist by making the other soldiers want to help their fallen comrades.

well so far thats the only thing i have. the lava door. i just needa add the water around it. on tekkit theres something called a garage door which i can put right on the castle doorway and windows so no one can get in but we can still open the doors and/or windows if needed. maybe behind the door i can have a fire dispenser set up or something

If you have spent time building different houses or bases in the popular sandbox game Minecraft, chances are you have seen some players create some genuinely stunning structures. As the game is made up completely out of blocks, chunkier structures such as medieval castles really shine within the game's landscape, but they can be pretty difficult to pull off.

Luckily there are numerous amounts of building tutorials online, each with the sole purpose of guiding you through these challenging and lengthy building processes. If you are up for a serious construction commitment, then check out the list below to see some of the best castle tutorials the Minecraft community has on offer.

Just because you are constructing a castle doesn't mean that you need to use creative mode to assist you with your construction. Just look at BigTonyMC's Survival Castle, as it provides both the practical defenses of a stone fortress, with the simplistic aesthetics of a blocky castle.

While many castles in the real world may be spread horizontally to cover a defensive position, you can actually construct extremely vertical towers in Minecraft without worrying about the architectural integrity of the final product. Just take NeatCraft's Medieval Castle tutorial as an example, since this fortress contains five different towers that all vertically sprawl into the sky.

The oceans in Minecraft can help you create defensive positions from raids, as enemies will struggle to swim through the water to even reach your location. We recommend finding a small island off the coast of a larger land mass and constructing a stone foundation for your castle to rest on top of.

Just because you are constructing a castle does not mean that the entire building needs to be made solely out of cobblestone or deep slate. Materials such as concrete and wooden planks can be utilized to create more of a warmer living space, while still offering the same amount of protection from the hostile mobs of the overworld.

LionCheater's Fantasy Castle is a fantastic example of what happens when you inject a specific aesthetic into your build, thus transforming the entire visual appearance of your creation while still providing all the necessary battlements and protections of a castle.

In this instance, LionCheater has combined concrete and diorite with both Cherry Wood and Crimson Planks, creating a great contrast of colors. Finally, adding in shrubbery and leaves as decoration will only enhance your build, making it look more and more like a mythical castle.

Typically, if you research real-world castles, many of them were constructed on top of or next to hills, as these natural formations provided defenses from enemy attacks. The same can be said for Minecraft, as hostile illager raids will struggle to climb steep cliffs to reach your home.

A great inspiration from this is the Hilltop Castle tutorial, as it showcases how you can construct battlements and houses all in one project, combining the two building styles together to create an impenetrable fortress. To pull this build off, we recommend constructing the sturdier parts of the castle out of stone, while the living areas and upper towers can be made out of whatever wood you like the most.

To create this base, you will first need to build a massive stone foundation for the actual castle to rest upon before you begin towering higher into the sky. To make this project easier, we suggest tackling one tower at a time, as it will break up the amount of resources you need while also giving you a smaller goal to complete.

There are many different examples, either fantastical or realistic, of different ways to construct a castle, but none are as iconic and effective as a Classic Stone Castle. LionCheater's enormous tutorial demonstrates just how large bases can get in Minecraft, as this video showcases a sprawling fortress made completely out of different types of stone.

Before you jump into this project, make sure that you have the skills necessary to build something this complex, and you can even recruit some friends to live in this castle and help you build. Finally, while there is a massive amount of stone needed to complete this base, do not forget to collect other materials, such as wood planks, to decorate the interior portions of this creation.

This castle sits above a small pond in the middle of a cherry biome. In terms of size, it sits on a 1622 grid, which should easily fit in most areas without problems. Most materials used for the castle are the new cherry blocks and stone bricks for accents.

This amazing medieval castle features watch towers for defensive purposes. Each tower can also be accessed through the outside deck around the castle. The highest tower provides a 360 view of your castle, making it easier to spot enemies, mobs, and potential looting points.

daxar123_builds has come up with a castle built with symmetrical defence walls, which will vastly simplify the building process. Many Minecraft castle ideas include several blocks with a similar colour palette to add more texture to the building, and this is no exception. Its dimensions and complexity make it an attractive challenge for an average player.

You decided to set up a Minecraft server with your friend and need a great idea for your shared base. Look no further! We have a winter castle blueprint that daxar123_builds has uploaded on their channel, with two bedrooms and all the Survival essentials covered. You and another player can search for the perfect mountain cliff to place the foundations and create the ultimate fortified castle.

Mushroom blocks are perfect to achieve a cottagecore vibe in your Minecraft world. However, rather than coming up with a small cabin or an underground base, why not go all-in with an amazing castle design? This video tutorial by jjaaxxthelegend is an ingenious rendition of a classic formula. The foundation has a nice combination of mossy and regular Stone Blocks that go perfectly with the theme.

DiddiHD decided to go all out in this video tutorial showcasing a massive castle in Minecraft set on a mountain cliff for everyone to admire from afar. As you would expect from a Minecraft hill castle with these dimensions, you will also need to check out the second, third, and fourth parts uploaded in their channel for the full instructions. We recommend you slow down the video to x0.75 speed in case you get lost in the process. Fortunately, you can download the schematics for reference. We can assure you the results will be 100% worth it. Good luck with your mission! 006ab0faaa
