The exhibition aims to demonstrate the unabated vitality of (queer) feminist manifesto culture since the suffragettes and reflects its variegated, sometimes contradictory aspects. It surveys different cultural contexts, periods of creation and media. For the very first time, it includes manifestos in the form of texts, sculptural objects, installations, soundtracks, videos and performances, as well as documents on the history of (queer) feminist manifestos by women*, trans and non-binary people. Numerous manifestos will be made accessible in a research lounge and in the publication accompanying the exhibition, including texts by Valeria Schulte-Fischedick, Rita Laura Segato, and Luise von Nobbe as well as statements by Lynda Benglis and VNS Matrix. This type of encouragement has gained popularity as a mantra in an idea known as manifesting or manifestation. Manifesting is based on the idea that you can think your dreams into reality. In my case it seems that it would be much simpler to write the Manifest exporter to Package.swift than to add various features I need to the package editor. The limitation would be, of course, that it only works with manifest files that don't have any conditions or computations.
