Hello , i had the magix music maker deluxe edition 2006 installed on an old computer , i would like to install it on another laptop but have lost the CD . I copied the entire magix folder onto the new laptop and wasn't surprised to find it asking me to insert the original CD when i tried starting it. Question is : since i still have magix music maker edition installed on the older computer , what information can i find and provide (within these files) that would give me permission to re-download the same version of magix again from the new laptop ? I tried searching for a validation key or something of that sort in the magix folder but couldn't find any . There's the 'Validation' app which i ran and it showed this message : " Unexpected data received '' .

There is another potential issue - if the new laptop is running Windows 10 then it is very likely that the program will not run correctly as it is not compatible with Windows 10, in which case you will have to upgrade to a Windows 10 compatible version.

Music Maker is now licensed as a 'freemium' product, ie you can install the free version, however this is very restricted in terms of functionality, features, soundpools and instruments, unfortunately those from Music Maker 2006 are not compatible and cannot be used.

Hello again Johnebaker , i found the cd , i installed music maker 2006 but it's in french . didn't find any language- related controls in the settings , i did a little bit of searching and found someone who had the same problem and that the solution was to download the trial version of music maker and replace the original files with the trial files . The post didn't say 'replace the files' in french it said 'replace the original app with the trial app' , which i assume means replacing the files .. Trouble is there are no older music maker trial versions left right ? Any suggestions ?

@johnebaker already commented that MM 2006 is very old (in software terms). By far your best course of action is to download and install the current Free version, test it out, see what it does and then consider whether it is worth you upgrading to one of the paid-for versions in order to gain full operational control of the app. (As fellow-users, we always recommend the Premium version if you decide to upgrade.)

As for the language problem you are seeing, where did the CD come from? Is it a "French" version? If so, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to change the language to anything else by editing any installation files since they will be written to the CD and so not easily editable. Current download trial versions are likely to be multilingual but this is unlikely to help you with the language of the version you currently have. As you say, trial versions of older software are not available and all current versions seem to overwite recent older versions on installation. Whether a current trial version would overwrite the 2006 version is doubtful but I confess to also doubting whether it would resolve your language problem!

Some of its new features may be the same as those in Music Studio 11 Deluxe - such as the Task Assistant and the Mastering Suite - but this latest version of Music Maker remains a drag n drop sequencer in the eJay mould. However, it does enable you to record audio and MIDI, and also has a few extra tricks up its sleeve.

As youd guess from its name, this is the 11th version of Music Maker, and it certainly feels like a fully-featured and mature application these days. It offers a standard array of effects, a selection of mixdown options and a library of fairly generic samples.

Theres also the SampleTank 2 player, a vocal tuner and the all-new Magix Harmony Agent. Of the new toys, the Auto Remix function is the most intriguing. It works by analysing the peaks of a songs soundwave to discern the tempo (if this is inaccurate, theres a Tap function so you can do it manually).

Itd be easy to argue that Magix have over-egged the pudding by stuffing so much into Music Maker, but to use this as a criticism would be churlish. The sheer number of features you get for your 22 is impressive, and although this package is aimed at the entry-level market, it may interest more hardened musos who want to create the odd mash-up or need a cheap vocal tuner.

Bought Magix music maker 15 and it worked good with Windows xp then i got new computer windows 7 but i had lost my product key then i called magix and they gave me bunch of bullshit product which NEVER worked. They had no idea what the hell they were talking about. Got Magix music maker 17 today. Downloaded the program and it says Soundspool can't be detected cuz its been deleted. What the hell?? Don't buy magix its a rip off.

The Loops are good but i can't put them to the Music bar(where you Combine Music box)

and it's sez"the File Format of(the loop that i can't put in the music Box)cannot be read by Magix Music Maker"

I bought this because it got good reviews and I'd had a much older version that I used and liked. BUT I've had nothing but problems with it. [I use WinXP Pro on a fast computer and Creative sound card] It wouldn't open after installing, it keep freezing up so I have to stop the task with CTL-ALT-DEL and lose all my work, I had three blue screens of death just clicking on any ASIO driver selection, the samples are average-poor (and hardly any come with the program in the box) and it's just so unstable and annoying that I regret buying it. Avoid.

i don't know what you guye are doing wrong but, i've been with magix 4 years starting with Generation5.

never had a problem, then i got .07..never had a problem, now i've downloaded music maker 16 trial version..works good as heck.

i'm on vista..but i do know that it will crash your computer if you try to do to many things at one time.

you'll have to load magix in a folder all by its self and make sure you name the folder with your name.

make sure all your .dll are in place and your setup progam are line up with everything.

if you have a microphone or headphones on your laptop or desktop choose which one your working with, but make sure

your headphones or microphone is pluged in..vista cause crashes in audio software if you unplug a mic..or headphone while

running audio software..i know happens to me. or it'll freeze your pc even if you touch you 1/8 plug while it's plug in.

What you can do is change your audio settings to a greater settings and switch the second row to a lower settings. If you need any more help just go to google and type in what problem you have and they should definitly have the answer.!

Are peeps talking bout Music Creator [from Cakewalk] or Magix?? I'll tell u that Music Creatpr 5 does have a steep learning curve (IF you've never used before), but if U spend some time with it, you'll eventually figure it out. However, you ARE expected to have a basic knowledge of digital audio. If you don't understand it, read the help files, go online to the Cakewalk forum, peeps there are GREAT and more than willing to help.

This is a $40 program people, and there is nothing else that does what it does for THAT price. If you don't understand something u CAN email them. They can't be expected to provide telephone support (that means hiring an entire staff of Technicians on call with salaries / insurance / offices / phones / computers) for a $40 program [can't do it at $40- price point is too low and they make like 9 dollars profit on each copy sold). It simply can't be done from a business point of view. So U gotta figure it out on your own, which you WILL if u spend some time with it. Peeps whining just usually don't bother to read to figure out probs. I'm not dissin anyone- just sayin' that if u're really into it and u put the time in, u WILL get it.

I just installed my music maker 15 and everything was going great until i tried to open the file and it tells me that i need to make sure I've inserted the "right" disc - what disc is that? The "Music Maker 15 Premium". WTF?! I bought the normal version NOT the premium. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Anyone had the same problem?

Everyone, avoid this program. I keep browsing for reviews on this program and people tell practically the same story as mine: they took their money, they got a nasty, useless software unable to use, and they got nothing in return, and technical support is non-existent, you get absolutely NO help in case you need it.

All I can see is several, several users out there spent their money on a bogus software, which is a living nightmare. What I have gone through is a horror, I think I have gotten much older during the past few days. I only have one question: how can people sue them? I am serious. No one's supposed to do this to people. No one ever. They are a bunch of thieves and they offer you NO help. This is just incredible.

I just brought magix busic maker 15 and im using Windows 7 beta system. I did install, its installed perfectly, No errors. But when I trying to start it its stops by "initializing media pool... " and thats it, nothing else happens. 152ee80cbc
