Belle (song) is a featured article, which means it has been identified as one of the best articles produced by the Disney Wiki community. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, please feel free to contribute.

The film's first song, "Belle" is a large-scale operetta-style musical number that introduces the film's book-loving heroine Belle, a non-conforming young woman who has grown weary of the provincial village life that she is being forced to live, and Gaston, who desires her hand in marriage. The reprise mentions how she not only wants to give up her village life but also not accept Gaston's hand in marriage.

The song also appears in the Disney+ original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In the episode "Typecasting", the students of East High perform the song to audition for the school's production of Beauty and the Beast. The song is a mash-up of the original tune and its reprise.

Another element that stood out to me in this track was the relationship between the kick and bass. At first I thought the bass track was a bass guitar, but it is quite evident at 3:18 when the song goes into final verse and the trumpet and filtered synth drop out, that I realized the bass was actually synthesised. This adds a nice layer or saturation to the bottom end in this mix and when combined with the kick drum it creates a heartbeat or breathing sound. It sort of humanizes the bottom end rhythm section in this track. Where in some parts it is felt more than heard. I also noticed at about 3:04 the filter sweep that is prominent to the synth, is sweeping at the same tempo as the trumpets phrases. It works so well that it almost tricks the listener, into thinking that it is one instrument.

I listened to every single song in their discography in LP album chronological order, from Tigermilk to Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, 183 songs in all, including released covers and demos. It took me several (work) days. I discovered that the maximum amount of Belle & Sebastian songs you can listen to in one sitting is exactly three albums. Their music is great, but after three albums you simply cannot take any more of it. So much introspection! So much goddamn yearning and dissatisfaction! Enough Belle & Sebastian! Enough!!

Some have argued that over the years the band has traded sincerity for gloss, but I disagree. Bandleader Stuart Murdoch is flat-out one of the great songwriters of our times, and his collected output makes for an amazing songbook.

Anyhow, has anyone ever noticed the harmony

vocal in "My Belle Amie"? To my ears, it sounds exactly like Paul

McCartney. Did Paul ever sing on this? It appears this song was a one

hit wonder.I found both songs on the Cd: "The Heritage Colossus Story" The CD is

worth checking out.

Has those type of songs You might never come

across again, or recall the names of..but they'll always be way back in

your memory, wanting and waiting to be found.

The Tee Set from Holland was founded in 1963 as an R&B/pop group. They had

several songs on the Dutch charts but had a more international hit with "Ma

Belle Amie", recorded in 1969. It sounds a bit like Paul but is not Paul.An earlier song by the group was written by Robby van Leeuwen, who also

wrote Shocking Blue's "Venus".----

You're not the only one who thought the song had Beatle-like overtones.

So did Todd Rundgren and Utopia. Their Beatle "tribute" LP, "Deface

the Music," was filled with mock-Fabs songs and arrangements, but they

also included a snippet of the melody of "Ma Bell Amie" at the end of

the song "Silly Boy" (which was sort of an "I'll Cry Instead"-type

tune).

Oh yeah! I always thougth of Paul when I heard that song. I always thought

of Paul when I heard Billy Joel sing that song which I'm not sure of the

name, possibly "You Oughta Know By Now". When he sings about trading

something for a Cadillac-ac-ac...BibsBro"Mr. Heart Throb" wrote in message

I hear no McCartney influence or a Lennon/McCartney influence whatsoever

in this song...or any of Joel's song so far. Can you name any at all?

I'm still trying to find em

He made the cover of TIME, way back, with the longer than usual story to

go with it.That's pretty much how he was described and I think he didn't deny his

chameleon quality.

I may be wrong but I recall a list of songs where he 'credited' the

source(s) - - It was blatant and he'd have been a fool to dodge it but I

doubt if his core fans see his style(s) as less than original.

Elton was on the list too.

I just saw Billy Joel about six weeks ago. He put on one heck of a

show, 2 1/2 hrs non-stop, and he did my favorite song from "Nylon

Curtain"..."Allentown". Also did "Goodnight Saigon"...great. I always

considered "Nylon Curtain" to be Billy's Lennon tribute album, coming

so soon after John's death. Just listen to "Pressure", "Surprises",

and especially "Scandinavian Skies".

Uta yo / Michibiki

Gales of Song / Swarms of SongDuration3:59Gales of Song ( Uta yo, literally "Song") is a song featured on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of the movie "BELLE". A version remixed by Hiroka is known inside "U" as Swarms of Song ( Michibiki, literally "Guidance").

The lyrics to Gales of Song were written by Kaho Nakamura, who voices both Suzu and her alter ego Belle in the movie. The music was composed by Ludvig Forssell and the song was performed by Kaho Nakamura in Japanese, and Kylie McNeill in the English version respectively.

In the movie, Gales of Song is the first song performed by Belle after entering "U". The song quickly becomes a hit and a remix is made available by Suzu's manager Hiroka, which becomes known as "Swarms of Song". The general consensus of users within "U" is that the song is addicting in a way that it feels as if Belle specifically sings for them.

Born Myra Maybelle Shirley, Belle and her family lived in Carthage, Missouri until the outbreak of the Civil War. Her father owned an inn, and she was educated at the Carthage Female Academy. Belle also received piano lessons as a girl.

A classic song, some fantastic animation and a truly awesome band. What more could you ask for on your birthday? The YouTube music video was posted by LateNightTales and is a cover of The Primitives' hit song "Crash". The song comes off Belle and Sebastian's new album "Late Night Tales - Belle and Sebastian - Volume 2" with animation by Stephen Tolfrey. Originally from Chicago, Andrew Belle is a singer/songwriter now based in Los Angeles. His music, a combination of fuzzy and vibrant melodies, has gained him a quite trust-worthy fan base that has been rejoiced with the unveiling of a new track of his forthcoming and long awaited album.

"Belle's Villain Song" is a fan song for the 1991 Disney animated film Beauty and the Beast by singer Lydia the Bard featuring Frostudio Chambersonic, part of the former's "Disney Princesses but they're Villains" series. It features a villainous version of the protagonist Belle as she betrays the Beast and sets her evil plans in motion. The song is a parody of the song "Beauty and the Beast" from the film.

Disclaimer: I am a terribly huge fan of Belle & Sebastian. Every second of every song they have written is subject to multiple interpretations. This review attempts to address a few such interpretations. Belle & Sebastian are an easy band to lose yourself in.

At first, the title of Belle & Sebastian's new album seems awkward: Belle & Sebastian Write About Love. The addition of the band name to the title initially feels superfluous, almost like a band pulling the time-honored trick of releasing a self-titled album several records into their career in a painfully transparent attempt at reinvention. But careful analysis reveals what we should have known all along: Belle & Sebastian know exactly what they're doing. You see, Belle & Sebastian have always felt like part of their own mythos, often writing songs about the transformative nature of, well, writing songs. (see "Judy and the Dream of Horses" or "This Is Just a Modern Rock Song"). When we see the band name in the title, we as listeners should expect that Belle & Sebastian are here to write about love in their own signature way: strong melodies, alternating moods of sadness and cheer, and a wavering nature of what is real... and what may not be.

The centerpiece of Belle & Sebastian Write About Love is its title track (sidenote: really, shouldn't any album with a title track have it be the centerpiece?). "Write About Love" is a marvel, a flawlessly constructed song that stands with the very best the band has ever done. Never mind the fact that any other band would kill for just one of the four separate melodic sections (intro, verse, chorus pt. I, chorus pt. II), never mind the way each instrument carves out its own hook. I want to focus on the song's layers. Lead vocalist Stuart Murdoch handles the verses, imploring the as-yet-unknown protagonist to escape their situation by writing about love. Sounds straightforward enough. The choruses are handled by actress Carey Mulligan, singing of her humdrum existence as a bored office worker who takes extended lunch breaks to write fanfic about an imaginary boyfriend. 006ab0faaa
