I've had the Pixel 7 for about 8 months now and I really like it. I only just recently started messing around with live wallpapers, and I got excited about it until I realized that you can set a live wallpaper to "home screen" only or "home and lock screen" and there is no option for lock screen only. Anyone know why this is, if there's a work around, or if Google has given any indication that they might change that? I find the live wallpaper really distracting on my home screen but it seems like it would be nice on the lock screen only

in ios 16, branded live wallpapers and special ones for the iphone xs max model have completely disappeared, which is very sad, I hope that Apple developers will return live wallpapers from live photo and exclusive for that model live wallpapersand that I have already tried to put several live photos as wallpaper, but they are just like a static picture and more than one tip from apple care support did not help

Android had live wallpapers ages ago and apple is still unable to crack it. The long press in ios to animate wallpaper concept belongs to the stone age. Bored of seeing the same icons and theme in ios. I might as well switch to android as it offers loads of customization and the phone turns magical and lively. If I'm paying 1000 bucks, I want the phone screen to look how I want it not how apple wants it!

Please stop yelling, DEV knows better what you like and what is not necessary for you any more. They just remove live photo so accept it, adapt yourself to new idea bacause probably you don't understand it at all. Of course they could did a pinch gesture (android style) or L gesture or any other gesture to enable edit mode for lock screen insted of hold a touch what was a live photo start but... if they decide to remove it it's just done. Sometimes if you take out you phone from a pocket and realize that lock screen widget was changed due to self auto hold touch and random edit of lock screen, please don't scream it's a new surprise like 1st April so be smiled and happy you just get a bonus.

Upon confirming the photo, and visiting the lock screen to test it out in real life, upon force touch, the photo jumps/shifts to the right, and then completes the animation. Upon release of force touch, the photo goes back to the center of the lock screen, as if nothing was the matter.

It's the live photo dimensional ratio, they're wider than the phone's full screen, so when they play on lock screen it shifts because it basically un-crops and aligns the whole image to the left, so it falls off the right edge.

If you have an iPhone and there are videos that you want to turn into live wallpapers, you have options. However, you'll have to first convert those videos to live photos. From there, you'll be able to find the live photo in your library and set it as your wallpaper.

I have a running live wallpaper and react to SCREEN_ON event to display changes on the canvas. However on some phones the user can set a different lockscreen and homescreen wallpaper (Touchwiz, some Xperia devices). When the user has set a different wallpaper on the lockscreen my live wallpaper is not shown.

On the Galaxy S3 I used WallpaperService.Engine.isVisible() and it correctly returns false when the user has set a different lockscreen wallpaper. On the Galaxy S3 Mini, however, this does not work, because isVisible() returns true whether or not my live wallpaper is the active lockscreen wallpaper.

WallpaperManager.getWallpaperInfo() or WallpaperManager.peekDrawable() don't work either, because getWallpaperInfo() returns my live wallpaper regardless of the current lockscreen wallpaper, and peekDrawable() returns a valid drawable even if my live wallpaper is set for both screens. I tried listening to WallpaperService.Engine.onTouchEvent(..), but the touch events from the lockscreen don't get through to my live wallpaper, because they are consumed by the unlock slider.

Lockscreen wallpaper is not supported by AOSP version of Android. The feature is entirely made by OEMs (Samsung, Sony, LG, etc.) and thus APIs for dealing with the lockscreen wallpaper are totally different among OEMs. Furthermore, some OEMs only do not support live wallpapers on loockscreens while others do.

However, you can still configure Wallpaper Engine to override the static lock screen image with a snapshot of your current live wallpaper. To do this, enable the Override lock screen image option in the General tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings.

As an alternative to relying on the lock screen, we suggest setting up Wallpaper Engine as a screensaver in combination with the On resume, display logon screen option enabled in the Windows screensaver settings. See our screensaver guide on how to configure Wallpaper Engine as your screensaver:

Start with an easy-to-customize Vimeo Create lockscreen template. Add in your own photos or videos from your camera roll, then save and download your video. Here are a few tips for an awesome animated wallpaper:

Now with a different wallpaper for the lock screen, I can go to the app and choose the wallpaper image and it now gives me an option to replace either the home screen or both the home screen and the lock screen.

To set videos as live wallpapers on an Android device, you'll need to install a third-party app like Video to Wallpaper. The app is quite simple to use, and I'm sure most of you will be able to figure out the process by yourself. But if you face any issues, here's a quick overview of how you can use it to set any video as a live wallpaper on your phone:

The live wallpaper should now appear on your homescreen and/or lockscreen based on your selection. You can follow the same steps to change the live wallpaper whenever you please. All the live wallpapers you pick in step 4 will appear on the app's homescreen for easy access, so you'll be able to switch between them without following steps 2 and 3 every time.

Video to Wallpaper is one of the simplest apps you can use to set videos as live wallpapers on your Android phone. I picked it over the other apps mentioned below for one simple reason: It's ad-free. If you're looking for an app that offers more controls and customization options or is easier to use, you should check out the alternatives mentioned below.

Sadly, this feature won't let you set a video as a live wallpaper on the homescreen. You'll still have to rely on a third-party app for that purpose. Thankfully, there are quite a few options out there. We've already talked about the Video to Wallpaper app. Now let's take a look at four other apps that you can use for this purpose.

You can tap on the Video button to pick the wallpaper you wish to use, select it on the following screen, check the preview, tap on the Set wallpaper button, and apply it to either the homescreen or both the homescreen and the lock screen.

For those who need some additional customization options, the Video Live Wallpaper app is another great alternative. The app not only lets you set any video as a live wallpaper on your homescreen or lock screen, but it also gives you a couple of additional settings to trim the video, enable/disable audio, and scale the video to fit the screen.

Additionally, the app offers a Color tab that you can use to set a solid color static wallpaper on your phone. However, the app has a couple of drawbacks. It has a persistent ad banner at the top, its UI looks outdated, and the video selection screen isn't the most ideal.

The Wallpapers free app offers a vast selection of live and static wallpapers across various categories. On top of that, it lets you set your own videos as live wallpapers. However, the process isn't exactly straightforward. To set your own videos as live wallpapers, tap on the hamburger menu button in the top left corner of the app's homescreen. Select the Photos and videos on your device option in the menu, tap on Accept on the following page, and then pick a video from your phone's internal storage.

Once again, the app's video browser isn't great, so looking for the video you want to set as a live wallpaper might be a bit difficult. The app also has large banner ads and the occasional pop-up ad, which may turn away many users. On the upside, the app offers a bunch of additional live and static wallpapers. It even includes an auto-change wallpaper feature with which you can set up a couple of static wallpapers to cycle on your homescreen automatically.

The Video Wallpaper app is another simple alternative that lets you set any video as a live wallpaper with just a couple of taps. The app's homescreen shows a list of videos from your internal storage that you can use as live wallpaper. Sadly, tapping on any video brings up a full-screen ad. After you remove the ad, the app gives you a couple of customization options that let you turn on audio on the live wallpaper, scale to fit the screen, and double-tap to start/pause the live wallpaper.

To set a live wallpaper, tap on the 'Set as launcher wallpaper' button, check the preview, and tap on 'Set wallpaper.' The app lets you set videos as live wallpapers on just the homescreen or the homescreen and lock screen both. Out of all the apps mentioned on this list, the Video Wallpaper app was the most annoying to use because of the sheer number of ads.

I want to set up a Live Wallpaper ( not a video, but actual Live Wallpaper ) on my Samsung A40 or A53 lock screen ONLY, but Samsung's custom Android OS shows only 2 options: to set up Live Wallpaper on Home Screen or on Home Screen + Lock Screen at the same time. Why? This doesn't make any sense?

My "Downloads" section is empty. All my Live Wallpapers are purchased on Google Play. Does this mean that putting my live wallpapers on a Lock Screen ONLY is limited feature to Live Wallpapers downloaded from Samsung app store? o_o 2351a5e196
