Hi there, I have Kodi installed in my android cellphone, along with LocalCast which I am using to stream video to my chromecast. If I use Kodi without a VPN everything works as it should, however the moment I turn on the PIA android app I can't stream to chromecast. I get a message saying that I don't have the right codecs, or the video doesn't exist at that URL and LocalCast can't fix this.

I uninstalled local cast to start isolating the problem, and Kodi can play videos when PIA is enabled. Kodi playback happens only on my phone as I can't stream to TV without localcast. (Well I could stream w screen mirroring but TV playback is not smooth at all this way)

The streaming of multimedia files is instantaneous. With music, for example, you just click on the name of a song and it will instantly start playing on your Chromecast device, showing the album cover on the screen of both your Android and Chromecast devices.

LocalCast for Chromecast/DLNA is an app designed for the Android operating system, that allows users to cast videos and pictures through Chromecast or DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). With LocalCast for Chromecast/DLNA, it?s easy to send video and other media directly to your TV and other devices for fullscreen viewing with a host of unique features.

If you buy content or pay for a monthly subscription to access your favourite movies, tv shows, music or more, you should be able to view it where and how you want. LocalCast for Chromecast/DLNA helps users do just this. Instead of limiting your content to a small-screened device, LocalCast for Chromecast/DLNA can send your media to the big screen for preferred viewing. From your phone, tablet, Google Drive, Google+ or Dropbox, to your Chromecast, Roku, Xbox One, Smart TV, Sony Blu ray player and more, you can send your content just about anywhere you choose. All it takes is one app download and it?s ready to go.

Unlike the regular Chromecast app, LocalCast for Chromecast lets users control things like the ability to zoom and rotate videos and picture and the integration of subtitles into your video. It also supports a number of video files, including MP4, M4A and MKV.

This feel-good musical is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran turned Kansas City local Jerry Jay Cranford, whose favorite directing credits include Les Miserables and Putnam County Spelling Bee for the Merry-Go-Round Theatre in New York, Madagascar: A Musical Adventure (world premiere working with MTI licensing) at the Coterie Theatre, and The Marvelous Wonderettes in Vancouver.

I love these types stairs so much so that we, along with our neighbors, went to great lengths to replace the 1950s brick front steps that adorned our home when we moved in with salvaged and reproduction cast iron parts and patterns from a local expert craftsman.

Just look at how sweeping and graceful they are. Curved railing, ornamental collars mid railing, intact risers and treads, all with their original patterns. You'd be hard pressed to find a more grand example of cast iron stairs anywhere in Old Town. Even the cast iron fence attached to the stairs is amazing.

Knowing the difficulty in finding a qualified local craftsman to correct the issues caused by this massive failure in high speed human transportation, I had high hopes that the city might steer the building's owner, a small Ohio banking institution, in the right direction. I took a wait and see approach, but still hoped for the best.

After losing some of my initial high hopes I looked up the property owner and determined their headquarters location in Zanesville, Ohio. I was a bit discouraged by the fact it's owned by a non-local, but I trudged ahead with my plan.

Using my local knowledge of Fred Mashack, the expert craftsman responsible for so many beautiful stair repairs and builds around Old Town, and leveraging my love of all things architecturally old and pure, I penned a letter to the bank's contact to let them know how much these stairs mean to Old Town, how to contact Fred, and how we, as neighbors, are looking forward to the stair's repair.

I'm relatively certain I came across as a crazy person. Scratch that "relatively," I'm certain. But it's my hope that they will see past my crazy person persona and will use our experience and advice for good. And some day, it's my ultimate hope, that Lulu and I will be able to proudly loiter on their beautifully restored example of cast iron artistry.

I'm leaning towards either BubbleUPnP or LocalCast, but I'm open to the other options as well. I'm just curious if there's a consensus within the community on the "best" app for casting local content, I've seen similar posts but they're several years old.

If I understand correctly the Chromecast needs a connection to the server on a local network or an internet connection to work. When you cast something to the Chromecast all you are doing is sending the source address of the content, in this case on your Emby server, to the Chromecast to play. Since the Android app or any Emby client does not serve any connent, only receives it, you will not be able to stream from your phone to the Chromecast.

Chrome cast doesnt support direct cast from S8+ (yet), maybe when it does it could shoot up in estimations if it provided the performance at a fraction of the technical complexity. Although cant be certain that would work without an internet connection.

I have one cast with pin code setted. If I open on my pc , I can see my cast and if I click on it, the window asking me for the pin code is shown.

If I open on my pc , It sends me to the

However, if I do it on Chrome mobile, of my phone, it lets me log in without problems

Recently received an update to my 2nd gen displays that I speciafically purchased for the purpose of local casting from Android VLC app / Dreamplayer -

With the recent FushiaOS that is now no longer working just like it broke all of my 1st gen NestDisplays.

I am fuming throwing money after money for the Google Nest HW and for the FushiaOS development team who seem incapable or sorting this bug from 2021 when the first FushiaOS was forcibly pushed through to all 1st GEn display without any prompt to go ahead with such.

As well as breaking the locsal cast it is also bringing another bug which is about lowering the volume of google home minis in the house when the Display is fed by the Nest camera...

A piece of junk now ! And I have around x6 in the house all forcibly updated to this buggy FushiaOS -

Sort it out and refund as the product no longer supports the same features as when purchased

I have since joined the preview program for my two gen2 after reading this is perhaps how one get the .134 firmware to at least fix the audio volume issue !

 -and-Displays/Nest-Hub-Max-Microphone-Volume-Extremel...

As to the cast issue from android VLC/DreamPlayer this is still broken even on the Gen1 .134 firmware ! and me who was thinkingthe Gen2 would keep working to watch the news on the office HubGEn2 or Kitchen HubGen2...

This has been going on forever since the developpers introduced FushiaOS - What sort of quality verification is done at Google one wonders...

Here it is from a "new" (2022) post:

 -and-Displays/Fuchsia-killed-casting-from-LOCAL-devic...

I still have the email exchange that I have had on the matter back in Oct2021 saying the FushiaOS had killed casting on my Gen1

Specifically bought two GEn2 as I knew they did not have FushiaOS and therefore the plaguing bug...Guess I have just thrown good money away...

Surely, a 10 minutes trial casting from android VLC the Hubs running thaty same firmware would easily highlight to a developer what FushiaOS actually broke compared to the previous non-FushiaOS firmware -

If I could I would go back and downgrade all of my Nest Hubs back to CastOS as everything used to work just fine like when purchased.

But it seems too much trouble when Google Nest developpers can fix it in no time...

Oh. And I had forgotten but since FushiaOS, the targetted broadcast (like broadcast to master bedroom) not longer works either....So when I am in the kitchen (gen2) and try to broadcast a message only to my son's bedroom (to say dinner is ready) that feature that had been working well is also broken...IT is so infuriating to think about the fact that everything used to work just fine..

It is almost like a STADIA story...Google abandonning hardware /firmware development. But at least for STADIA controllers google refunded to make good.

Here with all the features broken on the Nest Hub GEn1/GEn2 since FushiaOS , I am yet to hear how Google will make it good since it is almost breaking the product to pieces through compulsory firmware upgrades that are breaking the services that were available at time of purchase.

I wonder if there is any grounds for a class action law suit "a la" Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I was pretty much told that the cast feature of VLC is a third party app and therefore the fact that the Fuschia update broke the local cast is just though luck for me...I am afraid that is not good enough. What other third party apps featuring cast support are broken ? How about providing a way to downgrade to pre-fuschiaOS ? Or refund /credit on the store for the appalling support...still not resolved I am afraid...but I am very much not surprised...

Will my (older) local .nfo override current (and possibly more up-to-date) cast and crew data that Infuse would otherwise seek on import and periodically refresh; preserving my (out of date) versions of such data? 17dc91bb1f
