@chiprule Hi when you run a live event from Microsoft Teams the event is created and stored in Azure Media services and not stored in Stream. The organiser can download the recording after the event and upload to Stream if required. Microsoft reference -us/office/manage-a-live-event-recording-and-reports-in-teams-6d1f5d...

If the recordings aren't available in Streams you may find them another way. I went back into my Teams calendar and double-clicked on the completed/closed Teams Live event. If you scroll down within the event box you will see Manage Live Event Resources. Open that link and you will see three arrows to download the Recording, the Q&A session, and the attendee engagement report (assuming they were all turned on prior to the Live Event.) If you download the recording it will begin downloading an MP4 file to your default downloads folder on your local computer. As an example, my 52 minute meeting was downloaded to my local PC and was 545 MB in size.

My Teams Live Event was recorded. When people click the original link, they see the recording. I want to slightly trim the recording, to remove a couple of minutes of silence from the beginning. How do I do that ? I know how to edit a video, but I can't find the location where I need to upload the edited version to, so that it replaces the original version.

I am having a weird experience. I held a Live Meeting and made the recording available to attendees. If I access the event as an attendee, I can watch the recording. If I open the calendar item as the producer, I don't see the link to download the event recording.

@Jeremy Wood same thing happened to me on June 2, 2020. Funny thing is I did the exact same type of Teams Live event a few weeks earlier and it did record it in Stream for me, but not for this event. I know I checked the recording box for Producer/Presenter and not for attendees. Worked perfectly for the event a few weeks ago, but this one on June 2 did not allow me to download the recording and I was the producer. I could enable it for attendees after the fact and could view it just fine from the original attendee invitation, but not download it. No matter what I did I could not find the recording to download so I could edit it, all that was available was the attendee link from the original invitation because I enabled it after the meeting since I could not find the downloadable recording. Since I did this before, I believe this has changed and is currently a bug that should be investigated.

When you are selling a live event, you may wonder how you can also sell the recording of the event. If you would like to sell both, so users can watch it live and access it later, you can add them to a bundle.

On the Pricing tab, select Require access and uncheck all of the boxes under the Subscription plan tab if you are planning on only selling the live event and recording as a bundle (keep the subscription boxes checked if you plan to sell it as part of a subscription and a stand-alone product via a bundle)

Since all finished live events are automatically converted into a video, the only thing you need to do is publish that video and add it to the bundle. If you need to edit the recording, you can edit your own copy and then upload it. If you didn't record the live event, don't worry, Uscreen automatically records it for you. To edit it, you will need to download it first. Once you are done editing, just upload the video and hit publish.

Be careful though, anyone who has purchased the bundle with the recording will not get the recording until you publish the video and add it to the bundle, so it's best to act quickly after the live event has concluded. Otherwise, follow our steps outlined here for suggestions on how to let your viewers know a recording is coming soon.

Now navigate to Content, go to Live Events, then select the Live Event you want to include a recording for, and click Edit. Under the Stream tab, you can select the latency mode between Standard (Recommended), Reduced and

Once the live event has concluded, navigate to the video under Content, go to Videos and click Edit. Under the Publication tab, set the video to Published. It's also a good idea to change the title to emphasize that it's a recording. You can do that under the Details tab of the video.

For some Teams Live Events, you may want to restart the event after it has already started, or after you have ended it. Microsoft have now added this option to Teams Live Events. For further information, see "restart the Live Event" below.

Live Events in Teams allow for large scale "town hall" events which can run for up to 4 hours and allow 20,000 audience members. A typical format is multiple presenters taking turns to give a presentation, with audience Q&A.

The number of simultaneous live events is limited to 15 and these are scheduled centrally by Information Services Group. Event organisers can request to host a live event using Teams in the "Request to Host a Live Event" section below.

Hint - Did you know that we can help you choose the right tool for your type of digital event? If you're still unsure if a Teams Live Event is appropriate for your event, then more help is on hand using our "Online and Digital Events tool selector" and by reading our Online and Digital Events Service webpages.

Your Live Event can be internal or external (public). When requesting your Live Event you will be asked if you want your event to be public, and your answer to this will decide who can access your Live Event.

External users can still join internal events as producers or presenters - For example, if you only want University of Edinburgh attendees, but have an external producer or presenter, the event does not need to be public.

Events are recorded if you select "Yes" to "Do you want to record your event" in the request form. The recording will be made available for download soon after your event has ended. This includes a transcript, captions and, if you have requested it, a Q&A report. These are found by opening your event from your calendar in Teams and scrolling down to the 'Event Resources' section.

You should now start preparing for your practice and main event, by asking your producer(s) and presenter(s) to complete the training below under "Producer and Presenter training", and by reviewing the "Planning your Teams Live Event" section.

If you know the group of users who will be the attendees for your event, you can send out an email advertising the event along with the joining link. For example, if you have a mailing list that goes out to a certain group of users and they will be your potential attendees.

If you don't have a specific group of attendees in mind, but they are internal users, you can use the Event Booking system to allow users register for your Live Event. To advertise the event you could post on the University website or send out other comms. However, do not send out the join link in these comms, send out a link to the event booking page. For help creating an event through the event booking system, see the Event Booking webpages.

For external Live Events, you can advertise your event on the University website, or through other comms. However, when running such an event please consider the way you are advertising your event, and avoid posting join links on social media.

Important Note - If a producer chooses to restart a live event, you will lose the recording, transcript, and captions data of the event in progress and attendees will not be able to view the current event on demand. You should only restart live events when it is necessary, such as when a live event is accidentally ended before it was due to.

Your Microsoft Teams Live Events recordings will be shared with those specified to you by your Live Event organiser before the event. Your Live Event organiser should discuss with you before the event if the recording will be available to all attendees or if it will only be available to producers and presenters. The University will not share your Microsoft Teams Live Event recordings without your knowledge and consent. Only those people that you consented for your Microsoft Teams Live Event recording to be shared with and the Microsoft Teams administrator will have access to them.

When your Microsoft Teams Live Event recording is kept in Microsoft Teams and not downloaded, the recording will be retained and available to download for 180 days before deletion. When your Microsoft Teams Live Event recording is downloaded, your Live Event organiser should provide you with a retention period for this download.

A Teams live event is the perfect way to connect with people in a one-to-many format in your modern workplace. A typical Teams meeting allows two-way communication between two or more people. However, a Teams live event offers a solution for a much larger audience!

Structuring and delivering large broadcast-style events to reach employees, customers, and business partners, Microsoft Teams live events allow you to schedule and produce events to an audience of up to 10,000 attendees! This number may increase, you can monitor limits and specifications on the Microsoft Site. With Live Events, you can coordinate seamless and engaging online events like town hall-style presentations from anywhere in the world at any time, regardless of where your presenters/audience are located. You can stream live video and digital content via screen share to audiences both internally and publicly to get your message across to the masses.

Features of Teams live events include: Live Q&A, post-event recording downloads, attendee engagement reporting, live captions, and translation (choose up to 6 languages), as well as transcripts of the event. These are designed to enhance both the presenter and the attendee experience. I encourage you to explore Teams live events, as many organizations are maximizing their digital presence this way. 2351a5e196
