winodows allows the use of the mklink with substituted drive letters., however, some apps don't like the symlink on a substitued drive, in my case I'm using phoenix platform and it forces me to use the actual drive letter instead of a subs letter, in my case the drive is I: and the subs letter is W:, phoenix comes up with the error message

I was able to copy my user folder to another disk, but now I need to link it to the home folder on my ssd, I want it accessible from a normal boot, and please don't tell me that what I did was not the best thing, I just want an answer. If everything looks good, at least from the terminal (contents of /home/username/ appear as expected), then log out and log back in (I'm assuming you're on Ubuntu desktop) and it should be working normally. So, if the link has "edit" parameter but the user don't have permission to edit the file/folder, then automaticlly it will be redirected into "view" permission mode.

why the first one has open?id= and the second one has drive/folders/, why? Which one is better to use in which situations? If both are fine in any situation, then why are they two? What is the point of it?
