In this song I think she's trying to sing it to an ex or someone she's love that is no longer there. Basically, no matter what's lost and whats gone...what isn't lost is yesterday..... the memories you have lives on forever and thats something NO ONE can take from you.

This song is bascially saying that without this person they lost their dreams they lost the plans they had, everything. But they will learn to live with the memories of yesterday and they dont regret knowing them because the memories they shared made the pain of losing them in the end worth it anyways.
