Basically the first time i did setup my Chromecast was via PC windows 10 with the chromecast app and it worked just fine, not something happened and my chromecast does no longer function, so i tried rebooting it and doing the setup all over but from my Phone using the Google Home app and it doesn't work it just straight up says it cant connect to my WIFI so i went back to my pc and tried doing the same process with the app on windows and theres an error message saying that i have the version 8 of the firmware and the supported version is 7 or 4, and it says to reboot the chromecast app to download the correct version which doesn't happen if i click that big OK button which is the only thing i can click :D going to chromecast.com/setup only gives me the option to download the google home app for andriod or iOS and doesnt even the do it from your pc option, so what the heck do i do?

I have been using a Chromecast version 2 and a version 1 for months to cast from my My Cloud using the mobile android app, it has now stopped working with an error being displayed on the screen that I cast to, error 502. I have cleared the cache of google services, mycloud app, chromecast app and it still happens. I have rebooted the mycloud, my router etc etc etc. I have reset the chromecasts, reset wifi etc etc.

Yes tried the above, nothing works. Lots of people are posting similar issues on the Google chromecast support page with different casting apps so at this stage it looks like a google issue rather than a WD issue

I beg of you. Please add chromecast support to your android version of Channels Dvr. I will gladly leave plex and migrate my whole family over to you for chromecast support haha. If you want to charge more for that feature, fine. A subscription model perhaps....fine! Just please help me stop killing my server running both programs when I only need yours if you add chromecast support.

Will resurrect this. Why is there no CC support yet for Android. My major streaming devices are tired to my tv's. When I travel, I just bring my chromecast ultra. How am I supposed to watch on the big screen? Tie up my phone with a usb-c to hdmi cable? Chromecast support is so basic nowadays.

We're talking out of home viewing here. Like I want to bring my chromecast ultra to the shore house and just cast from my phone. Giving home scenarios where the server is present doesn't really qualify for this feature request. At home, people have a streaming device. This is for travel purposes. Hotel stays, vacations, friends house and so on.

+1 Haha, I'm mad at that too, but these cats don't care. They know they have the best program ever made for cord cutters, and they don't want to sully it, haha. It's so bad in my house that I resurrected my many raspberry pi's with openelec to cover where I don't have the new chromecast. The channels dvr plugin in kodi works. It is what it is sadly...

If it was the best out there it would have the extremely basic support for chromecast that the supposed not so best apps out there. It wouldn't require me to buy more hardware to be usable when none of the other video based apps seem to require it.

I just had an issue of a segfault which occurred while an automation was running for my chromecast audio. This happened once before while I was on 0.55. I am currently on 0.57.2 (just upgraded today). I was curious to see if there was a known issue when I came across this. I do not have any problems with 0.57.2 recognizing my chromecast audio however after digging deeper I noticed I am also on version 1.28.100555 and did not recall ever signing up for this preview but upon checking within the Home app I found that it was set to receive the preview software. I have now unchecked it but it makes me wonder if this is the reason for my sudden segfaults when sending tts or an audio file to the chromecast audio.

I have uninstalled Poweramp and the unlocker then reinstalled Poweramp from play store and updated it to version 933 from Poweramp site. Sadly nothing changed , Poweramp still does not connect to google home / chromecast.

I am wondering if there is going to be a fix for the NETGEAR - Nighthawk AX1800 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System (2-Pack) with chromecast compatibilty. From all the forums that I see there is no actualy solution that is working as some people work and others dont.. So I am wondering to see if there are plans in place to have an update to be compatible with Chromecast, seeing how that is a widley used device in the streaming world, or even that it is a known issue to Netgear. If there are no plans or upcoming updates that will address then please let me know so I can just go and return this product.

I have the MR60 Mesh network & a house full of Chromecast devices. I purchased the MR60 system in anticipation of our upcoming fiber installation with the hope of good network performance throughout the home. We have been continually frustrated that our chromecasts over wifi simply do not work on this system. The ONLY time they work is when casting from a PC, or after factory resets and the setup wizard on the chromecast every time we attempt to cast to them. They continually disconnect from the network when using a mobile device... android or IOS over wifi. I am attempting some of the settings I see recommended in this forum (kudos to you all!). However, it would be great if the Netgear forum moderators would take the abundant evidence in these forums and get it to Netgear Dev to correct the issue in an upcoming patch. It should not require all of us calling in spending troubleshooting time with customer service trying to resolve this when it is clearly a known and widespread issue. My generally new chromecasts should work with my brand new MR60 mesh wifi. Ensuring that systems work with common devices is a minimum viable product requirement it would seem.

ok, so i noticed on the box there is a special costco call number for support - so i called it this morning and got thru like right away. She had me log into the router and go to settings/advanced/advanced setup/wireless settings - and then uncheck the "Enable AX" box. Then i went thru and was able to connect all (3) of my chromecast devices - SUCCESS FINALLY !!! So i did three setting changes on the router - the first 2 didnt seem to work, but the third did - ummmmmmm.

I use google chromecast for casting tv apps on my tv, smart tv and no smart tv (lol). Since ios14 it will not remember the chromecast device on either tv. Two different models and capabilities. I constantly have to reboot the chromecast device when I want to cast an app to either tv. Anybody else have this issue??

SOLVED: I was having the same problem with a TV using chromecast. I found that unflagging the Private Address in the Wi-Fi settings solved the problem, as well as checking in Privacy-local network that the app was green.

It is not trouble with wifi. Chromecast not working visible on iPhone and iPad Pro anymore after iOS 14 Update. It is also not possible to reset it and make a new connection, because Bluetooth doesn't show the chromecast anymore.

Is Chromecast 1st Generation still functioning ? I am trying to re install one (I have reset factory settings) & i cant install. I have followed the google instructions on line. It appears my iphone & chromecast cant connect. My internet works ok Thanks

When I ask my Google nest to listen to the radio on the Marshall speaker, it does that fine by using tune-in.

When I stream audio via chromecast on my pc or my android, the Marshall speaker works fine.

It just does not when I initiate the request from a homey flow

I just got it going again by going to in Google chrome and used chrome's tab cast functionality to cast to the chromecast (audio). This freed up something because now all my other clients suddenly work again. This is a Spotify connect issue with the chromecast.

@ado good grief, i was losing my mind with this issue. I rebooted, messed with settings, everything that ive seen in forums. the chromecast audio finally connected almost instantly when i turned off "Fast Roaming" from within the advanced settings. ff782bc1db
