During the install of World Update VIII (1.24.5.0) my update restarted (update restarting) (update repeated) (update looped) (update looping) and the cause was AVG AntiVirus Free. I had to allow FlightSimulator access to a protected LOADING folder. After allowing access the update completed successfully.

I have tried basically anything, from deleting all Spotify data, to reinstalling Spotify and even a factory reset of the MacBook, but nothing has helped and im just really confused as to how this kind of issue would even come about. I think i can remember faintly than it inconsistently didn't reopen after i reinstalled Spotify once, but after a few days it went back to restarting by itself.

Download Keeps Restarting Steam

I have resolved the issue and know what caused it. The reason Spotify kept restarting was because I had an app running called BetterTouchTool, that accessed the local Spotify API by polling it every second, thus restarting the app whenever i closed it. I hope this helps anyone else who comes across this issue after me not having found a solution for around a year. It might not be the exact same tool causing it for you, but maybe its a different thing thats accessing the API on your side.

I have come back to this thread since this still isn't resolved for me. I have since upgraded my operating system and only installed Spotify on Big Sur and yet it still keeps restarting. I'm out of ideas as to how this could have anything to do with just my specific setup if a clean install of the operating system doesn't resolve the issue.

This also happened to me many times and from my observation, It happens when a game has a new update whilst downloading the game. This won't happen when you continuously download the game without restarting or shutting down your PC and even though the game releases a new update it will still continue to download until it finishes.

I've been trying, for a few days now, to figure out why I can't launch Plants vs. Zombies, Garden Warfare 2 on Origin. I bought and installed the game on steam, and when I try to launch it either from Steam or from Origin, it looks like it tries to open and then proceeds to restart the Origin client and act like I never launched the game in the first place.

A failed update, faulty hardware, new application or any number of other issues may cause Windows 11 to keep restarting. As an IT administrator, you may have to try many different strategies when troubleshooting a restart issue.

Because there are so many possible reasons why Windows 11 keeps restarting, there are also many steps admins can take to resolve reboot issues. You should look at three broad areas to identify the source of the problem: software environment, hardware environment and system settings. By assessing the desktop through these three categories, you can determine what the best way to solve the issue is -- whether that is pausing updates, replacing the local drive or changing group policy settings, for example.

Safe mode runs Windows 11 in a basic state that operates with a limited set of files, drivers, services and features. You can use safe mode to carry out several tasks, such as updating drivers, removing hardware components, uninstalling new applications or scanning for malware -- all of which may cause Windows 11 to keep restarting.

As with the software environment, you should evaluate the computer's hardware to determine whether it's part of the reason why Windows 11 keeps restarting. One possible culprit is a hardware driver, which can become corrupted or outdated. An administrator working directly on a Windows 11 PC can use the Device Manager to update drivers or remove a device that might be causing issues.

I believe the issues were related because after I loaded the new mesa updates, the problem went away for me as well. So it may have been the steam web helper using too much graphics processing, but your gpu is better so it could handle the excess load better.

Steam is a destination for creating games, discussing, and playing games. However, running the Steam client on your computer comes with some issues. Most especially, if the Steam download keeps restarting, this is a rampant problem that needs your attention.

I cannot re-open Steam on Ubuntu after having closed Steam. In order to effectively run or use steam again I seem to have to restart my whole computer, which is a chore. Also, Steam (especially during or after Universe Sandbox) likes to freeze frequently - which requires me to close steam to clear the freeze.

I usually use terminal to killall steam, sometimes it creeps along fast enough to click the x graphical button to close it, this is my preferred method. But sometimes I am forced to use terminal or the task bar to close the windows.

No matter by what method it is closed, I usually cannot reopen Steam after that unless I totally restart the machine. Clicking steam again might get the "steam is updating" window, once, but after that nothing happens.

Something of Steam appears to be running in the background, but not fully coming into the forefront to use. After I try clicking it any number of times, it may respond again to killall steam which will kill whatever is there.

My recommendation is uninstall the Ubuntu included steam completely, get the official .deb file from the steam repo and follow the instructions. I wouldn't be surprised if all your problems immediately vanished after that. Mine did. :D

Uninstalling xdg-desktop-portal-gtk seem to work for me, per Steam client crashes with beta and the new update pushed this evening. And re-installing xdg-desktop-portal-gtk does not appear to have broken steam-runtime.

If the update keeps causing serious problems, you should try rolling back to a previous version of the software. Head to the Steam Deck Recovery page to download the recovery image to a USB key. When running the recovery, you should see an option to roll back to a previous update in the Boot Manager section.

Just bought and downloaded the game on release, launching it instantly gives me an error message explaining there has been a crash and a crash report has been saved. I tried the usual steps, restarting PC, running as admin, verifying game files.

I had similar issues... so looked through my program files, found the older trial version was still there and deleted it.. I now only access the game through steam to ensure i am using the latest updated version

Try checking Windows Security for any files that have been quarantined. Likewise, check the 'Properties' information on each of Skyrim's folders in your \Users\Documents\My Games folder, and the Data folder in \steamapps\Skyrim Special Edition folder. If your Skyrim is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, that folder is notorious for causing permission and, by extension, write problems.

Using Vortex Mod Manager and the Skyrim Special EDition on Steam Deck. Could FNIS also be a problem thats causing the CTD and corrupted saves? It keeps asking to upgrade to Anniversary whenever I load in, but changed the permission in Steam Deck to not change it. Checked the folders for Steam, they are correct. Should I go down my list of mods and plugins?

I have not been able to play Argo for the last few weeks do to a battleye issue and the steam shortcut. When I attempt to lauch Argo through steam I get no response. I then attempt to launch Argo through the File Library x64 or x32 and it will launch, However, as soon as I choose server and it enables battleye v1.243 and syncs my GUID, I get an error message saying "You were Kicked off the game (Battleye: Game restart required)". Note: Just before the recent Update i would get and error saying Battleye failed and if I would restart the game to enable it. I have searched all around for fixes and none have worked. Please help!

Go to you game folder (under Steam/steamapps/common) and you will find a lot of files *.exe, the game should normally be launched from agrobattleye.exe , but for some reasons for some of us it gives an error, cuz it is trying to load the file argo_64.exe, which gives an error (for me at least) but while launching from argo.exe, it works but dosent load the BattlEye anti-Cheat and you get Kicked, so the trick i figured out is to rename the argo.exe to argo_64.exe so that it can be loaded TROUGHT agrobattleye.exe , and just rename the original argo_64.exe to argo_64____.exe or something (do it first), then you can launch your game from agrobattleye.exe OR just in steam with play game FIRST option.

All right so I am having the same problem BUT in all of the comments I see here the File Uninstall_BattlEye.bat, .bat I cannot find this dir in the battlEye folder nor within Argo files directly as I am going to PF(86)\steam\steamapps\common\argo, as suggested. ff782bc1db
