Your exam should be started at the time stated on your timetable. The exam closes automatically, at the same time for everyone who is taking it. So, if you start your exam late, you will have less time to complete your exam than other students and you may put yourself under undue pressure.

If your internet connection drops out during your exam, your work is still saved, you can continue to answer questions offline. Once the connection is restored, your responses will be synched. If the connection is still not working when you have finished your exam, save your submission as an offline file by following the steps outlined under Technical Issues in the PDF below:

Note that if your exam required you to complete multiple questions as part of one file upload you will only see the total raw marks related to the one file upload (rather than raw marks per question).

For multiple-choice questions, you will be able to see the questions you answered correctly and also the correct answer for any questions you answered incorrectly. Please note, when your exam marks are transferred from Inspera to Canvas, your final raw exam mark will appear.

If your course team have told you that you will be taking your Inspera exam off campus (e.g. at home), they will provide you with information about installing the Inspera Exam Portal (IEP). More information about this is available in our What is Inspera? FAQ.

We have successfully run hundreds of exams on the Inspera platform and many students have commented that they prefer taking exams in the comfort of their home environment, without the hassles and stresses of travelling to and from assessment venues.

To ensure that you can carry out your assessment remotely while in exam conditions, the Inspera software can confirm your identity and make a recording of you and your actions while you sit your exam. An invigilator then looks at this recording and reports any potential misconduct to your Programme Team before your results are released. Your Programme team will decide whether any action should be taken.

All online proctored exams are recorded and viewed by our exam invigilation team post exam, please ensure you comply with all the guidelines below to avoid any Academic Malpractice proceedings , remember the ORC and Academic Misconduct Panel have the right to void the assessment and terminate your studies should they find evidence of Academic Misconduct.

I asked him if he knew how to change the camera back to the built-in one as it was set before we started the meeting and he said he had no idea. He suggested that I relog back into the exam portal. So I exited and when I tried to log back in, I encountered the error going like "it's too late".

Unless you are told otherwise by your department and the Exam Schedule, you normally attempt an Inspera exam remotely in a location of your choosing (i.e., not in an assigned exam room on campus). Remote Inspera exams are open book. In-person Inspera exams are closed book and invigilated.

If you hold a Student (or Tier 4) visa to study in the UK, you are currently required to undertake all of your study (including all exams delivered online) in the UK. For further information please contact the Student Immigration Service at studentimmigrationservice@bath.ac.uk.

Inspera exams are designed to allow time for the possibility of distractions or minor problems, such as a poor internet connection. The total time you are given to attempt your exam is sufficient for you to access or download the exam paper, consult any reference material (if allowed), answer the questions and check your responses, and prepare and upload your files (if you are asked to).

If you upload files as part of your exam, you may be allocated a short amount of file preparation and upload time on top of your exam work time. This time is not for carrying on working on your exam, but for you to check your work, collate your answers, and create and upload any files.

Finally, check your device is working, that you have a working power adaptor, your internet connection is stable, and deal with any pending updates (either delay them until after the exam or run them well beforehand).

Whilst some Inspera exams are open book and you can refer to other information, you will still need to revise. The Skills Centre has a wide range of information and support to help you with preparing for exams, including an online course for getting ready for exams

The Exam Schedule will tell you what type of Inspera exam you are sitting and your exam instructions will be visible 72 hours before your exam starts. Your department may also provide you with additional information.

Let your family or housemates know in advance that you are due to sit an exam at a particular time or revising. They should avoid distracting you and may also be able to limit their broadband usage while you are working.

During this time, you must not contact or ask for help from any person(s) or organisation, including contacting other students or family to discuss the exam. The only exception to this is if your exam paper or Disability Access Plan (DAP) explicitly states this is allowed. For further information please read the guidance on academic integrity (including plagiarism and cheating).

All exams include sufficient time to complete and submit your work by the deadline indicated on Inspera. The Exam Schedule will confirm the length of time you are expected to spend on your exam (exam work time), and any file preparation and upload time provided. You should complete your exam in the expected work time and upload it well in advance of the final deadline. ff782bc1db
