Maria, who has lived in the abbey for several years with every intention to become a nun, must face her less-certain future. She sings to instill herself with confidence as she travels to become the governess of seven children, and plans to apply herself wholly to the job.

I'm not that great of a lyricist, so I always feel like my lyrics are not all that great, so I always feel discouraged to even write them, let alone share them. Can anyone give me some advice on how to go about writing lyrics and then how to go about editing them?

"Tenderness" by General Public is one of my very favorite songs. Easy to listen to, clever lyrics, just some feel good music (BTW, if Dave Wakeling, the lead singer, is performing around you, go see him and his new band. He smiles through the whole show. The guy loves performing). Here is the video for it.

The core of the chorus is an easy flip from Tenderness to Confidence, a huge issue facing tech decision teams today (if you missed my Confidence Formula post, you might want to go back and check it out). We also have research that highlight how many leaders are not confident in their own digital skills and knowledge

There were Some challenges in other parts of the song, but I think it worked out pretty well. Towards the end, the performance blends the chorus as background to the lyrics. That's not captured here, but this is what I have for you"

We are the industry's premier provider of musicians' teleprompters and confidence monitors for displaying lyrics on stage . The Stageprompter brand of products have been designed specifically for artists, vocalists and musicians who want a lyric prompter with a larger screen that is undetectable by the audience, like the classic Wedge Floor Teleprompter. Unlike any other stage prompter device on the market, The Stageprompter contains a custom made controller that is proprietary to us. Therefore they are reliable, easy to operate, and require no maintenance or software updates.

If you're a musician looking to get rid of your music stand, or a singer who has had one too many fails with lyrics on your iPad, perhaps it's time to move up to the big stage and use what the pro's use. From our self-contained Wedge03 lyric monitor to our scalable Pro Series systems, we have what you need to be confident on stage.

This Wedge03 is awesome! My performances have improved as a direct result of using it. I sing for 3 busy cover bands which means over 200 songs to remember. I could not do it without my Stageprompter.

Music really is good for the soul. Whatever feelings you're dealing with, there's a song that speaks to your mood. Many people turn to love songs, breakup songs, or feel good tunes when they're looking to escape, but these songs about confidence need to be added to your playlist ASAP.

Books, podcasts, and documentaries are all good to turn to when you're looking to be uplifted, but music is easily the most reliable source of entertainment. You can take it with you in the car, at the gym, in the shower, and beyond. If you're prepping for a major interview or a big test, you may be feeling smaller than an ant, and need something to turn to. Whether you're looking to gain more confidence, or are celebrating your newfound confidence alongside your friends, these tunes are sure to put you in an over-the-top good mood.

This title explains itself! Lovato's "Confident" is the ultimate bad*ss anthem. With lyrics like, "I used to hold my freak back / Now I'm letting go / I make my own choice / B*tch, I run this show / So leave the lights on / No, you can't make me behave," you'll be feeling unstoppable anytime you listen to it.

If the beat of this song doesn't instantly get you hyped, the lyrics certainly will. The chorus itself is full of explosive lyrics that will have you exuding confidence, reminding you that you can handle whatever life throws your way: "I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose."

Lizzo's been preaching confidence since she stepped into the spotlight. Her constant quotes about self-assurance have resonated with fans of all ages and background, especially when she sings: "I'm like chardonnay, get better over time."

Nothing says confidence like being able to turn the other cheek when someone says something less than ideal to you. When Swift sings, "I'll never miss a beat, I'm lightning on my feet," you'll feel ready to conquer anything life throws your way.

Gomez's bop shows that confidence can be learned over time. While you may have endured some years of uncertainty, it's never too late to change. "Took a few years to soak up the tears / But look at her now, watch her go," she sings.

When you have self-confidence, you trust yourself that you can achieve what you put your mind to. And you can succeed because confidence gives you the boost to perform optimally. It powers you so that you can do beyond what is expected.

She talks about wearing pearls and curling her hair to display confidence, which are common identifiers of the joys of being female. And she enjoys everything that makes a girl, girl. Including being complimented by men for her looks.

Since its time on the charts, the song has been used for several commercial purposes. Athletic events, from professional wrestling to the NBA, use this song to pump up the confidence of athletes and audience members alike.

With writing and production credits with The Six that amount to over 2 billion Spotify streams, we asked Rick Boardman and Sarah Blanchard to give us some tips on writing better lyrics. The Six are looked after by the newly launched Matter Music.

The soundtrack of the film The Sound of Music, music and lyrics by Rodgers and Hammerstein, was released in 1965 by RCA Victor and is one of the most successful soundtrack albums in history, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.[1][2] The soundtrack has been issued in German, Italian, Spanish and French.[3]

Three songs from the original Broadway production, "An Ordinary Couple", "How Can Love Survive?", and "No Way to Stop It" were replaced, in the film, with two new songs, "I Have Confidence" and "Something Good". For the original Broadway show, the music was written by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II; both the lyrics and music for the new songs were written by Rodgers, as Hammerstein died in 1960.[10] All songs were arranged and conducted for the soundtrack by Irwin Kostal.[10]

Taylor Swift's years in the spotlight have taken listeners from her country roots in 2006's self-titled "Taylor Swift" to pop stardom, then surprise quarantine albums "Folklore" and "Evermore, a triumphant return to her past with "(Taylor's Version)" re-recordings, and the vulnerable pop grooves of "Midnights."

This melancholy summation of Swift's public battle against music executive Scooter Braun for her masters (the reason she's rerecording her first six studio albums) is heartbreakingly weary. Luckily, her rerecordings have begun to serve as a triumphant reclaiming of the old works that got her here.

We're not sure how Swift pulled this off but she actually picked up our hearts and threw them on the ground while we listened to these lyrics. All "Mr. Perfectly Fine" fellas out there should take notes.

The queen of breakup songs used to worry about what would happen when she was happily in a relationship, but rejoiced when she woke up one day with lyrics in her mind that would eventually become "Cuts."

Anybody grow up with sidewalks? How about Greenbelts? That's where it all starts. The neighborhood you grow up in. No matter what color you are, or how much money your family has or doesn't have, growing up with a sense of community is what gives you a foundation of security and confidence to grow up reaching for the stars & daring to be different. This push button generation of kids who don't go outside to play with confidence, are sneaking outside to be on local music videos instead. They know all of the lyrics, get to hold big brother's modified gun, and there's nothing else to do. A fellowship of gangsters, instead of neighbors. What do they have to lose?
