Grand Army is an American teen drama streaming television series created by Katie Cappiello that premiered on Netflix on October 16, 2020. It is loosely based on Cappiello's Slut: The Play. In June 2021, the series was canceled after one season.[1]

It was announced in October 2019 that Netflix had ordered a 10-episode adaptation of Katie Cappiello's 2013 play, one that expands on the original work. The storylines are based on real life stories from her students.[2][3] On June 17, 2021, Netflix canceled the series after one season.[1]

Of all the students, Leila is easily the most confusing. Revealed to be the one faking a bomb threat, potentially cheating on Omar with the rapist of Joey, George, and despite standing up for herself against her bullies, came off as racist. There could be some serioues reprecussions to her actions come next season, and if her role in the fake bomb threat is revealed, then Leila could be expelled.

Since opening in 2015, Grand Army has developed a reputation for their quirky seasonal cocktail menus, and over the years they\u2019ve turned out more inspired themes than a high-school prom-planning committee (in fact, High-School Prom was Grand Army\u2019s featured theme for the Summer of 2016). The themes are a team effort and serve as the inspiration for the cocktail list and the names of the drinks built around it. But since the Spring/Summer 2021 Nicolas Cage activation, the menus themselves have increasingly become works of art and the featured theme has started to inspire additional merch, such as T-shirts and sweatshirts. The Grand Army team scours Etsy and eBay for deep-cut collateral (like the small Spice Girls-branded trays used as check presenters) to incorporate into service and decorate the bar. And Director of Operations Dan Merer sets a high bar transforming the sole unisex bathroom into an immersive VIP room experience (he hints that the popular disco lights from the recent Spice Girls takeover will likely remain in place).

Since season 2 hasn't yet been confirmed, there's no official cast list yet. Still, the five main members of the first season cast have all expressed a desire to come back. Amalia Yoo seemingly spoke for them all in an October 17 group interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying "We're ready." However, at the time, they all also had no clue if a return was forthcoming and definitely hoped Netflix was listening. The ball remains in Netflix's court.

At the end of Season 1, plenty of storylines remained unresolved, including the aftermath of Joey's sexual assault. Tim (Thelonious Serrell-Freed) may very well turn on George (Anthony Ippolito) and Luke (Brian Altimus) to report their actions to the police. Fans should also find out more about Dom's internship and relationship with John (Romero), Sid's Harvard journey and relationship with Victor (Rosenstein) after being outed involuntarily, and whether Leila (Yoo), who sent an anonymous email threatening to bomb the school, may also see some repercussions once that information gets out. Additionally, a second season should investigate the way Jay's silent protest at a recital in solidarity with best friend Owen will affect his future.

Johnson has publicly speculated (via Digital Spy) about a second season, noting that he likes that Grand Army portrays friendships with more nuance in a way not often seen on television. In his character's case, it's about the relationship Jay has with fellow saxophonist Owen (Jordan). "This is speculation and my opinion, but I feel like he will only continue to grow as a young man," Johnson said. "I feel like we would probably see Owen again, because Jayson just won't let their relationship go down the gutter."

Grand Army is the latest in Netflix's extensive catalog of teen dramas, which is currently in the Netflix top five most-watched series on the streamer. After many viewers have made their way through the first set of episodes, they have been left wondering if there will be a second season of the streamer's answer to Euphoria.

It seems that even the cast do not know whether the show will be back for Season 2. Asked by Entertainment Tonight about a potential second season, the cast collectively implied that the future is in Netflix's hands.

Though the show has been a relative success, it does not have the sort of chart success that would guarantee a second season. The show, for example, only broke the top three on the series chart for one day, and in only one country (the United States). And today, 12 days after its October 16 release, it is not in the worldwide top 10, even when shows released before it like Emily in Paris (released on October 2), and The Haunting of Bly Manor (October 9) are.

Grand Army (GA) is a competitive mixed club ultimate team in New York that values gender equity, spirit of the game, and open communication since inception in 2015. We believe that playing high level ultimate and having a good time aren't mutually exclusive. GA finished 8th at regionals last year, and we are looking for teammates who show up, play for each other, and have some great die rolls up their sleeves this season.

If we do get a second season of Grand Army, it could take a little while before it lands on Netflix. The first season of the show was filmed in both New York and Toronto last year, with principal photography taking place between May 2019 and September 2019, according The Cinemaholic. After wrapping up filming, the series took another 13 months before it finally made its way to Netflix. If we take that into account, plus current coronavirus production shutdowns and delays, it could be even longer until we get Grand Army Season 2.

The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), also known as the Great Army of the Republic, the Republic Army, the Grand Army, the Galactic Army, or simply the clone army, was the army branch of the Republic Military throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. At the time of the Battle of Geonosis, the Galactic Republic activated hundreds of thousands of clone troopers to fight the Separatist Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In addition to human clones, all grown from the bounty hunter Jango Fett's genetic template, the GAR also had Jedi and other non-clone leadership as well as regular conscripted soldiers, though they formed the minority of soldiers in the Grand Army.

During the waning years of the Republic, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas contacted the government of Kamino to commission the creation of a clone army, convinced that the galaxy would be consumed by war. As thousands of star systems joined the Separatist movement, the Galactic Senate invested wartime powers in Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. As a result, the Grand Army of the Republic was formally established, comprising thousands of clone soldiers with millions more being developed in Kaminoan facilities by the start of the Clone Wars. The Jedi Knights, having served as peacekeepers for a thousand years, became Jedi Generals when the Senate called on the Jedi Order to lead the Grand Army against the enemies of the Republic.

At first, color was used to denote the rank of Grand Army clone officers. This system was intended as a benefit for non-clones on the battlefield, as well as clones whose helmet displays malfunctioned. It fell out of use, however, as the Jedi encouraged the clones to express their individuality. As a result, the clone army gradually adopted a new system in which they customized their armor with unique color schemes and markings.[16] Non-clones and non-Jedi could also serve as Republic officers in the Grand Army such as Hodnar Borrum.[25]

The Grand Army of the Republic, shortened to the GAR,[5] or referred to as the Republic Army, was originally conceived by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, who had foreseen the galaxy becoming consumed in war. Despite his removal from the ranks of the Jedi High Council,[39] whose other members rejected his ideas, Sifo-Dyas contacted the planet Kamino. The Kaminoans, a species that specialized in the science of cloning, were under the impression that Sifo-Dyas represented the interests of the council. In truth, their communication was kept secret. Unaware of this deception, the Kaminoan cloners accepted the Jedi's commission to create a clone army for the Galactic Republic.[40]

In addition to growth acceleration and behavioral modification, an inorganic bio-chip was installed into the brain of every clone trooper at the early stage of their development. Sifo Dyas, who thought of the chip, intended for it to be a safeguard against rogue Jedi, but following his death, the chips were retooled by Sidious and Tyranus. The official reason behind the implant was to ensure that the clones would be more docile than their aggressive genetic donor.[44] Posing as a Jedi, Tyranus presented the retooled chip to Prime Minister Lama Su and Doctor Nala Se, and deceived them into believing Sifo-Dyas's intention. Unknown even to the Kaminoans,[45] the inhibitor chips that were retooled by Sidious and Tyranus, were to ensure that the clones fulfilled their role in the annihilation of the Jedi Order in accordance with Order 66.[46] The clones would serve as the Jedi's army,[47] however, they were also an integral part in the Sith's plan for galactic domination.[15] 006ab0faaa
