Gladiator: Music From the Motion Picture is the original soundtrack album of the 2000 film Gladiator. The soundtrack was composed by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, and was released on April 25, 2000. It was conducted by Gavin Greenaway and performed by the Lyndhurst Orchestra.

On February 27, 2001, nearly a year after the first soundtrack's release, Decca released Gladiator: More Music From the Motion Picture. This CD contained additional 18 cuts from the film (including unused tracks and remixes of earlier scores, such as "Now We Are Free"). Many tracks also use dialogue from the movie, such as Maximus Decimus Meridius' quote "Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife... and I will have my vengeance."

In 2003 Luciano Pavarotti released the song "Il gladiatore" from his album Ti Adoro. The song was based on a theme from the score, featured on the soundtrack as track 4, "Earth". Pavarotti told Billboard magazine that he was meant to sing this song in the film, "But I said no then. Too bad. It's a magnificent song and a tough movie. Still, there is so much drama in just the song."[17]

The "Il gladiatore" version of this song was performed by Andrea Bocelli during the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final in Rome, where FC Barcelona defeated Manchester United F.C. and also during the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final in Milan, where Real Madrid C.F. was proclaimed Champion of Europe when defeating the Club Atltico de Madrid.

Gladiator (Music From The Motion Picture) is the original soundtrack of Rowdy Herrington's 1992 film Gladiator. It was released on February 25, 1992 through Columbia Records and consisted of a blend of rock, hip hop, and pop music. The soundtrack failed to make the Billboard charts, but Warrant's remake of "We Will Rock You" made it to 83 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] The title track was performed by the hip hop group 3rd Bass in what was the group's final appearance together.

You know how in movies like "gladiator", "lord of the rings", and "kingdom of heaven" there is the music style where women sing in Latin or old languages, Gaelic anything. But its like opera/chorusy kind of music with dramatic orchestra. For example: "Now we are free" by Lisa Gerrard.

That is remarkably close. I know Hans Zimmer scored Gladiator and was involved in the production of the first Pirates soundtrack, and Klaus Badelt co-wrote many of the themes with Zimmer. I'm honestly surprised by this. Not having seen Gladiator, does that song reappear throughout the score, or is it a simple tune used once and forgotten? If it's the latter, then it is possible that Zimmer wanted to expand upon the existing theme, thus elevating it to its level of primacy in the Pirates trilogy.

Speaking of that track "The Battle" from the Gladiator soundtrack, Zimmer was sued by the Holst Foundation for copyright infringement because parts of it are quite similar to "Mars, the Bringer of War" from Holst's suite "The Planets".

Hello my dear friends, today I came back with a review about a great soundtrack from Gladiator Movie, It is called Elysium It's also called Elysian Fields . It is a Classical Mythology, the abode of the blessed after death and any similarly conceived abode or state of the dead or any place or state of perfect happiness; paradise. This song was produced by Hans Zimmer & The soulful vocals is by Lisa Gerrard and it is released in 2000.

We are pretty much used to a James Bond movie being nominated for an Oscar in the best soundtrack category. Each time a James Bond movie comes out, it is usually nominated for an Oscar in this category. It was, however, surprising to see Life of Pi beat it out as Thomas Newman did amazing work in Skyfall.

With music by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, this striking soundtrack conveys a variety of moods and settings for this blockbuster new movie starring Russell Crowe. Powerfully scored for band by John Wasson.

The first is a nice, clean listening post, comparing the soundtracks of the films Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Gladiator and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. This audio was heard (and discussed) in our latest episode "Review of the Year: Part 1", but now you can listen to it without us talking over the top of it and decide for yourself! ff782bc1db
