Claw resurfaces to face Red Tail and his crew on Tiger Island. Claw manages to bring Red Tail down and acquire the final two gems, yet Red Tail escapes. Claw enters the Tiger Temple at the heart of the island to claim the amulet. There he fights the highly trained tiger guards, avoids the many death traps in the lava-filled temple, and defeats Omar, the captain of the tiger guard, who holds the final gem. Claw places the gems on a pedestal, and Princess Adora appears. She gives Claw the amulet, granting him 9 lives, after summarizing his adventure. Omar is sworn to defend the holder of the Amulet, thus becoming Claw's bodyguard. The game ends with Claw on his ship with the amulet, alongside his crew and Omar.

After a little research, I found that game progresses like savepoints are saved in the CLAW.USR file. Send me a copy of that file and hopefully it should get along with my copy of the game.

I'm currently using the english version 1.43 that appears to be quite newer and it is easily found on the web (try googling "captain claw gameborder"). There is a reasonable possibility that the bug does not depend on DxWnd and could be fixed in this newer release, also considering that the game localization is not so critical (for sure you know more english that is needed to progress in the game).

If you ever decide to try the new release, don't forget to copy in a safe place your "CLAW.USR" file since that one would let you progress in the game without starting from the beginning.

Captain Claw is a villainous crab from Mobius who used to patrol the Mobian Channel in search of wayward travellers. The "captain" (who wears some sort of sailor's cap) seems to enjoy torturing the people he discovers, especially since he gets to give his Octonaught Badnik a bit of exercise. Claw is particularly happy when Knuckles the Echidna stumbles across his territory and wishes to claim the reward from Doctor Robotnik for capturing him (although it's not quite as big a reward than if Sonic the Hedgehog was captured). Claw not-so-secretly hoped Knuckles would resist arrest, giving him a chance to put the Octonaught through its paces. He also enjoyed it when Knuckles electrocuted himself on the ship's underbelly and continuously gave the echidna a chance to give up.

In the episode "Captain Hook's Parrot", Captain Hook desired his own feathered companion like the various pirate captains he has portraits displayed on the Jolly Roger. Captain Claw is briefly seen among the paintings with Beatrice Le Beak and Captain Bluebeard.

Claw (also known as Captain Claw) is a 1997 PC platformer published by Monolith Productions.
