Instead of constantly sifting through your notifications, select which apps send alerts and which ones don't. You can also customize the way your favorite apps send alerts, such as notifications, sounds, and vibrations. To make things even better, you can snooze notifications or access an app's notification settings from the Lock screen.

To customize your notifications, tap Notification settings at the bottom of the panel; the App notifications screen will open. You can tap the switch next to an app to enable or disable the app's notifications.

Every app will send you notifications about different things. For example, a social media app may send you notifications about a new video someone posted or a message your account received. You can customize which specific notifications you get, so you're not bogged down with ones you don't want.

Tap App icon badges, and then tap the switch at the top to turn the badges on or off. You can also choose Number or Dot for your Badge style. Tap the switch next to Notifications on app icons if you'd like to touch and hold an app icon to view your notifications.

If you are busy or on the go, it can be easy to miss notifications. To make your notifications more noticeable, turn on flash notifications. When this feature is enabled, your phone will flash every time a notification is received. Now you won't miss any important notifications, like an email from your boss or a text from a family member that needs help.

Have you ever accidentally closed a notification you were trying to read? With the Notification history feature, you can view your recent notifications exactly as they appeared. Now you'll never miss any important alerts, like system updates.

So this was another pesky annoyance. It seemed the default notification block, blocks ALL notifications from said app and not just a channel. Was frustrating if you wanted AutoWear notifications, you'd have to also deal with the background running, and, if enabled, drawing over apps notification with floating icons.

An app is sending me scammy notifications, but I cannot disable the notifications of that whole app because some notifications are important. I can see it has 3 categories of notifcation channels named "default", "chat channel", and "internet chat channel". Is there a way to find out that a notification is coming from which category?

Yesterday I did a full reset of my Galaxy Watch 4. Today, every time I try to select the Notification Settings, the Wearable app crashes and restarts. I cannot set any notifications for the watch and am no longer receiving notifications on the watch. Hoping not to do another reset. I've already cleared the cache but that did not help. Any suggestions?

I just got an s22 but I don't like the notification/alarm sounds included with it. I have my s9 set up with different sounds for different apps and I can't find anything similar on my s22 to replace some of them.

There must be a way to find the sounds on my s9, save them somehow, and move them to my s22. Anyone know how to do this?

Is there a way to open the SecSoundPicker directly? Then save some? Move them to the new phone?

I can try just recording them but of course the quality won't be very good, and then using them on the new phone.

In the last 24 hours, my phone (Galaxy S21 5G) has stopped making notification sounds. I get the notifications, and it vibrates briefly, but there are no sounds with the notification. I've checked all the obvious things including:

Another odd thing is that when I go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Notifications where you can select the sound, nothing plays when I select different sounds. It does work on Settings > Sounds and Vibrations > Ringtone. I've restarted the phone in Safe Mode, and this behavior is unchanged.

When I go to Volume settings, and adjust the volume on the different types of sound, Ringtone and Media always play when the volume slider is adjusted. Notifications will play once, if I change it's volume after Ringtone or Media, but then stop for all future adjustments until I adjust Ringtone or Media again. System never makes any sound.

I'm specifically concerned about the app Opsgenie, since I need to hear on-call alerts for work, but none of the app notifications are making any sounds.

Found an article on this problem indicating it's happened before... unfortunately, none of the suggested resolutions work for me (except I haven't yet resorted to a complete factory reset): -galaxy-s21-s22-no-notification-sound/

My new watch is automatically showing the information for notifications. For example, when I get a text message, it automatically opens the conversation instead of just showing the notification icon. On my Galaxy Watch, I had to tap the notification to open it. There used to be a setting to "show notification information" but I can't find it for the Galaxy Watch4. Does anyone know how to stop this?

1 The IHRN feature is not intended to provide a notification on every episode of irregular rhythm suggestive of AFib and the absence of a notification is not intended to indicate no disease process is present. It is not intended for users with other known arrhythmias or users under 22 years old.

2 Due to market restrictions in obtaining approval/registration as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), it only works on watches and smartphones purchased in the markets where service is currently available (however, service may be restricted when users travel to non-service countries).

3 The ECG app is only available in select markets. The ECG app is not intended to replace traditional methods of diagnosis or treatment. The ECG app is not intended for users with known arrhythmias other than AFib or users under 22 years old. Users should not interpret or take clinical action based on the device output without consultation of a qualified healthcare professional.

4 The HR Alert function is for general health and wellness purposes and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease.

5 Availability may vary by market, carrier, model or a paired smartphone. Available on Galaxy Watch4 series and later models.

Now, I don't mean picking the sound I like from their list of pre-loaded sounds, like every help guide Google can find assumes I mean. I mean actually uploading a new sound to the phone and making it available for notifications, just like you can do with ring tones and alarm sounds.

This may seem like a really trivial problem, but it's causing me a lot of issues knowing which incoming texts I need to pay attention to immediately, and which I can ignore until later. So, if anyone knows how to implement properly custom notification sounds (or if it's completely impossible), please let me know!

It's good to hear that you're enjoying the new ish galaxy s9. I was able to add custom notification tones by opening my files/internal storage and copying media files into the notification folder. As long as the file format is supported it works great.

I should have mentioned that once you copy the media files into the notification folder they will be added to the default list that we use when setting up custom tones per conversation in the messages app.

I see many community members have suggested that feature be brought back. I think the update to Android 9.0 changed so many things that it was almost impossible to get it to work the way we want it to so they created the best solution at the time so that we would at least have some way of setting custom notification tones for our contacts. I think we need someone with better knowledge than I have to help us with this one.

This was marked as resolved but it is NOT. I have no way to associate people/events and select notification tones. Right now 9+ is a step back from my S6. This was critical to my ~3000 texts a mont . Keeping my S6 until it's fixed.

Open MyFiles and select internal storage (will not work if you select audio category), find your file(s) you wish to use as custom notifications and hold down (long press), when options appear at bottom-select move and then move to notifications folder. This will populate your custom tones in with default tones.

I don't know how old the above posts or solution are but with updated S9 as of Jan 2020 when I copy an mp3 file into notification folder it does not appear among the list of default sounds. Seems S9 now limits sounds to only default sounds? Or how can I do it?

So, I have set up the Wyze app on the Android tablet now, and have been trying to get the notifications to my liking. I think that I have tried every setting in every combination in both the app settings and general notifications so far, but I cannot get the device to give me sound notifications and notifications in the drop-down notification center, without also popping up a very annoying Wyze badge/icon right in the middle of the screen. I can suppress it on the lock screen, but not in apps or on the home screen. I do like the little indicators on the app icons that show notifications have been sent from that app, so I want to keep those.

EBay must've issued an update over the past few days. Before the update I would receive a notification in the upper left of my eBay app on my Samsung galaxy and will also hear the teaching noise every time someone bed or purchased an item from me as well as every time A payment was made. I've sold several things over the last few days no notifications or cha ching. Can anybody help? I've tried following some information online doesn't seem to work. Any help would be appreciated ask my wife loves to here at the cha Ching sound. Thank you 17dc91bb1f
