Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Did I hear correctly on the Ebay For Business Podcast late 2022 that sewing patterns may now be shipped via Media Mail? Not finding this on the website and want to make sure, but I am pretty certain I heard Griff and Brian mention that... Thanks!

You are correct, packets of a pattern or patterns, even with written instructions do not qualify for Media Mail. I have a couple of packet type patterns in Quilting / Sewing and even one in Cross stitch. They have to ship First class.

You are likely correct for the most sewing patterns in packets. I personally don't sell those types of sewing patterns. However I do have patterns in packets. Some cross stitch, sewing [not like Simplicity, McCalls, etc] and quilting.

Thanks, everybody, for your insightful answers. Sewing patterns are so lightweight, individually and even in smaller bulk lots, seems like it could qualify as acceptable for Media mail at some point. I will need to revise a few:)

Eligibility for MM has nothing to do with item weight. The main criterion for print materials is whether they're mostly images or mostly text. Ordinary clothing patterns don't even come close to the existing MM eligibility categories.

This pattern is gorgeous! I have printed a lot of patterns and this has been my favorite by far. Not only is it easy to print and assemble, but the pattern instructions are detailed, clear, and have images for all steps. I highly recommend this shop and will be purchasing more from this shop in the future!

Definitely my favorite pattern! Both video and pdf instructions were so clear and easy to understand as beginner sewer. And the notches on pattern tiles were very helpful! Definitely gonna buy some more patterns from you as this dress was so easy and quick to make. I already made 2, other one with short sleeves and it worked out so well as well.

"If you've been considering this pattern go for it! The Ellery dress was challenging but doable for me as a beginner and it has sky rocketed my confidence in my sewing abilities. Sharon and Justine have helpful YouTube videos that made the process a breeze. The dress itself is so flattering that I have made two and went shopping for more fabric last night. Thank you ladies! I look forward to working with more of your patterns"

Love your work! The Pattern File app is specifically for cataloging sewing patterns! It even pre fills the cover and line art, pattern description and other details of most big 4 patterns. Even vintage ones will show up if another user has entered it! Not affiliated, just a happy user!

I catalog my patterns using pinterest! I can access it from anywhere that has an internet connection. -pattern-stash/

I also keep a wishlist on pinterest so I always have something handy for those pattern sales.

I agree, mind blown. I have a small collection of vintage patterns (two from 1898). But I have a much larger collection of modern patterns. I currently keep them divided by type but this will now end. Doing this! I will take in all the tips stated here. YAY!

I use a database app to track all my patterns, projects, fabric, and notions, and it works great for me. I also use it to track costs and time spent on each project. The one I use is Bento, now discontinued, but it let me set it up on the computer and just sync info to my phone.

I made a similar database on tap forms too and also created one for all of my sewing projects. I had issues syncing the data from my Mac and between my devices. I ended up splurging on FileMaker though I am not convinced it was worth the outlay. Nice to see someone else digitally cataloging patterns too.

Love your idea for the comic book storage. I have tried many different specific pattern and fabric apps to organise all my fabric and patterns most have failed as they are either too slow, crash, only allow one image per pattern or are limited with ability to change preference (I live in Australia so we use metric). 2351a5e196
