The direction CSS property sets the direction of text, table columns, and horizontal overflow. Use rtl for languages written from right to left (like Hebrew or Arabic), and ltr for those written from left to right (like English and most other languages).

The property sets the base text direction of block-level elements and the direction of embeddings created by the unicode-bidi property. It also sets the default alignment of text, block-level elements, and the direction that cells flow within a table row.

Unlike the dir attribute in HTML, the direction property is not inherited from table columns into table cells, since CSS inheritance follows the document tree, and table cells are inside of rows but not inside of columns.

In the example below are two strings of text, both which are displaying using direction: rtl. While the Arabic text is displayed correctly with this setting, the English text now has a full stop in an unusual location.

On 25 March 2015, the band released a statement announcing Malik's departure. In the official statement, Malik stated "I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart" and that "I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."[145][146][147] Malik denied rumours of any rift between the members and stated "my band has been really supportive".[148] In later interviews, Malik stated that he left the group due to being unhappy with the group's musical direction and his inability to "put any input in".[149] The group made their first official public appearance as a four-piece on The Late Late Show with James Corden on 14 May, where they confirmed that they would continue working without a new fifth member.[150] The On the Road Again tour concluded on 31 October 2015 after playing eighty shows in stadiums across Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Grossing $208 million, over 2.3 million tickets were sold.[151]

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a built-in way to get this, so some trigonometry is needed. To calculate the direction from sprite 1 to sprite 2 you can calculate the displacement from 1 to 2 in x and y, then use the atan function to find the required angle:

hI @rigmarole this is so cool. Thank you so much! I am wondering though do I have control on the arrow? I understand that if I show link in both notes, the arrow would be bidirectional. What if I do want to have links in both notes, but I want one to be a child of the other so that the arrow is single direction?

A for loop with a stop condition that can never be reached, such as one with a counter that moves in the wrong direction, will run infinitely. While there are occasions when an infinite loop is intended, the convention is to construct such loops as while loops. More typically, an infinite for loop is a bug.

Every year at GitLab, we choose some specific areas of emphasis to help guide the teams on the areas of our product that we want to accentuate. This section is used to highlight that emphasis. It is not a comprehensive list of everything we plan to do this year. Direction for each stage and category can be found at the respective direction pages. We are not asking the teams to deviate from their core mission.

At GitLab, we strive to be ambitious, maintain a strong sense of urgency, and set aspirational targets with everyrelease. The direction items we highlight in our kickoffare a reflection of this ambitious planning. When it comes to execution, we aimforvelocity over predictability. This way, we optimize our planning time to focus on the top of the queue anddeliver things fast. We schedule 100% of what we can accomplish based on past Development Department merge request rateand availability factors (vacation, contribute, etc.).

In this comprehensive overview, Bluetooth SIG Developer Relations Manager Martin Woolley examines Bluetooth Direction Finding. Download this in-depth technical paper and learn the details behind how two new Bluetooth direction finding methods can enable location services solutions that support high-accuracy direction finding.

Angles and cardinal directions can be used for features which are mapped as either an independent node or an area. It allows to specify directions that are not related to any existing way. For nodes, examples are the direction of a cave entrance, cliff, view, bench, or hunting stand. For areas, examples are the direction of planting in a vineyard or planted forests.

Spelled-out cardinal directions are used for specifying the posted direction of travel along route relations in Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. As of August 2021, spelled-out cardinal directions were 13 times more common than abbreviations on route=road relations and 9 times more common than abbreviations on route relations overall.

Note that traffic signs traffic_sign=* are tagged the way the sign faces, i.e., against the direction of travel. For example, when travelling west, signs are facing east, so you tag them with direction=90 or direction=E.

Some printed maps for tourists (not based on OSM data) show direction of viewpoint, it gives some info on what is visible from a given place (sometimes view is restricted, in mountains typically by forest). direction tag allows doing the same with OSM data.

Note that the default value for roundabouts and mini-roundabouts is anti-clockwise in most countries (or territories) driving on the right side of bidirectional highways, and clockwise in other countries (or territories) driving on the left side (e.g. United Kingdom or Hong Kong SAR).

Roundabouts and mini-roundabouts are themselves not bidirectional so their direction is almost always implicit (given the applicable national or territorial default rules), and cases where the effective direction is reversed (needing this tag explicitly) are extremely rare everywhere (they exist only when a small roundabout, for example in a service/industrial/harbour way, is just aside another major bidirectional street and its normal rotation direction would require vehicles to go in opposite direction of the major street without enough space left for another lane separation: collisions would be unavoidable).

The directions forward and backward can be used to specify the direction of a feature relative to an existing way. This only applies to features which are tagged on a node that is part of a way. Examples may include directed traffic signs.

Note that this tagging is ambiguous in cases where the node belongs to more than one way! For this reason, use the forward and backward directions only on nodes which are part of exactly one way (or, depending on context, highway=*). Avoid junction nodes and nodes between two ways as well (where they have been split, but are connected by a node). If in doubt, better simply to insert a new node into the way which can be freshly tagged.

Do not use the direction tag for highway=traffic_signals that are part of a way, instead use traffic_signals:direction=forward/backward.

For traffic signal nodes placed at their real position next to the road, the direction tag as described here with cardinal directions or angles as the value should be used.

The key direction=* can be used to specify special rules on parking directions for back-in and head-in parking. These rules determine the direction of parking/driving into a diagonal or perpendicular parking space. These include back-in angle parking (reversed/back-in diagonal parking - a traffic engineering technique intended to improve the safety of on-street parking) and rules for head in or back in perpendicular parking (e.g. to prevent car exhausts from reaching the roadside). When such rules apply, they are usually signposted with a special sign or are indicated by markings.

If the parking spaces along the road are mapped as attributes of the street, use this key with the street parking prefix (e.g. parking:right:direction=* or parking:both:direction=*). If the parking spaces are mapped separately (tagged with amenity=parking), just use direction=* without prefix. Use one of the following values:

The tags direction=up and direction=down have been used on highway=steps to specify if the stairs lead up or down in the direction of the way. This has since been obsoleted by incline=up and incline=down.

Spiritual direction is the ministry of listening, discernment, and prayer in a confidential setting of encouragement and compassion. The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction desires to prepare individuals to serve in this contemplative ministry, encouraging other Christians to deepen their friendships with God. Theologically, the Center is grounded in the heritage of the Evangelical Covenant Church, with roots in the Protestant Reformation, classical Lutheran Pietism, and other evangelical movements. e24fc04721
