Hi guys. So I just picked up the EZVIZ DB1, but it doesn't have ONVIF support (even though an article I read said it did). However, EZVIZ is just one of many brands that's really just Hikvision, which does have ONVIF support. Looking at this reponse, this person was able to flash his EZVIZ to the Hikvision firmware, which then gave him ONVIF support, but s/he never mentioned how it was done. I did a google search, but so far I'm not finding anything. Can someone explain how to flash the firmware to Hikvision? Thanks in advance.

EZVIZ is committed to keeping all devices secure and working with the latest features according to the established best practices by providing firmware updates within the support time, which include security updates, bug fixes and new functions.

EZVIZ may does not provide security updates for older firmware versions that are too old and have few users*. Therefore, all EZVIZ devices need to be updated to the firmware version that includes the latest security update. Older versions may require multiple sequential firmware updates in order to get the latest version.

The reported vulnerabilities [1] and [2] have been patched in the latest EZVIZ firmware, which has been released to the affected users for firmware update via the EZVIZ App. The reported vulnerability [3] has been fixed on the cloud platform.

For users with affected device, they can complete the firmware upgrade via their EZVIZ App on the specific device page to fix the vulnerabilities. Users should have received an upgrade push notification and are able to follow the instruction on the update page to complete the upgrade properly.

Has the firmware been updated recently on the cameras? I haven't heard of newer firmware versions making Hikvision cameras inaccessible, but it's a possible explanation if this was working previously.

Since you are in touch with EZVIZ support, perhaps you can ask them what RTSP URL the camera with its current firmware will respond to, and whether this has changed in recent firmware versions? Please report back here, and I can let you know how to use this URL to set up the camera manually in SecuritySpy.

I tried modifying the squashfs and then rewrite it at the same address on the SPI flash, but when the camera boots, it claimed about mismatch checksum, then it drop me to a shell called finsh shell with rt-thread RTOS. I think it's that RTOS's shell. After that, I see a process start downloading firmware from Ezviz server, then write it to flash to revert my edits. I think I can't modify this firmware unless I find a proper way to disable firmware checksum.

I have the same problem. I updated my first camera and it failed. I try rebooting then readding the camera but nothing, it just fail to conect. Then I updated my second camera and it was successful. Please provide an answer at least to know how to fix the cameras with failed firmware update.

However, if you own any of the security cameras listed below, you will need to update them in order to prevent falling victim to any attacks that leverage these vulnerabilities. Here are the model numbers of the affected devices along with their firmware from a vulnerability notice released by EZVIZ: 17dc91bb1f
